Remember the old gaming days when online gaming was non existent? From the start of gaming up to the release of the Sega Dreamcast, there was no online. This meant that for the hardcore gamers, single player was all you had. Flash forward to 2011, and there are few games with no multiplayer, and many with lacking single player modes. I am not saying online should be done away with by any means, but I stand proud by saying many games, especially many of the FPS games like Call of Duty, should learn from Uncharted, Dead Space, and Assassin’s Creed.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
Well the saying is come for the SP, stay for the MP. I played the hell out of Uncharted 2's MP and Co-Op, but I think I still enjoyed the SP more and replaying the different difficulties, getting all the ingame awards, money, unlocking the DONUT DRAKE FTW, and collecting those treasures put me at about 30hours in the SP alone.
Games like COD are sheep bait and those people 9 times out of ten, only come for the multiplayer. Most of the time they never touch the story, and whats even sadder is many COD freaks even skip cool treats like Zombies for laggy online head to head matches.
I have only known of one person I hangout with that plays COD who knew Zork was in the game. That is how one tracked they are for the damn Multiplayer.
Want SP? get an offline RPG theres plenty there but I miss offline split screen for 4 player. Sure it wasn't the best having a quarter of your TV but my god you could have more fun as only 1 console and tv was needed to have a great time rather than 4 tv, 4 consoles and 4 internet connections not to mention the cost of 4 games to. This is why games like Timesplitters were kings of the ps2 and whats wrong with this generation. BRING BACK SPLIT SCREEN!
dead space 2 disagrees with this article.
Yes, but we got some games that SP was more important than the multiplayer part(Dead Space) I'm feeling that devs are focusing even more on the MP aspects of games. I don't like this. It is ok for some games, like BFBC to be MP focused, tbh the game didn't even need a Single Player. But for some games Multiplayer is just unnecessary. Unfortunately Multiplayer is ruining SP. I will be very disappointed if games like Mass Effect 3 have MP.
devs concentrate too much on multiplayer why do they do that? single player is a great adition
