Good we dont need stale, outdated garbage like tbhis being released on a Next Gen system.

disturbing_flame5563d ago

COME ON KONAMI !!!!!!
Make a new GRADIUS instead !!!
Gradius V on PS2 was a classic.

I can't imagine what they can do with a PS3.

RedPawn5563d ago

Or at least attempt a new Axelay!!!

SolidAhmed5563d ago

that is really disappointing, one the best 80s game get canceled, Konami is becoming an annoying company

MarcusFenixITA5563d ago

Sad ... They could have really made this game.

Studio-YaMi5563d ago (Edited 5563d ago )

Developers aren't as dedicated as they used to be....
it's a shame that such a great franchise gets canceled while other shitty ones get a free pass.

Unfortunately it seems to be par for the course in this generation. It's becoming way more of a popularity contest than any other generation before it.

With Activision shutting down every game series that's not called Call of Duty, Warcraft, or StarCraft, I think this is quite apparent.

At least some developers are still trying to bring us fresh ideas. Hudson was one of those until Konami bought and shut them down. But Atlus is a great publisher that still publishes niche and wonderful games in the face of all these "Call of Duty", "Gears of War", and "Halo" games. These games (CoD, GoW, H..) define this generation, and that's just pathetic.

So many gems in the rough though. However, I'm not sure how long those studios making/publishing those gems in the rough will be able to stay afloat in this climate. It seems the recession is starting to hit the game industry even harder now and more rash decisions are being made as a result of it. :\

I'll take a hundred Lost in Shadow, flOw, Okami, and Ikaruga games over another Call of Duty being released, any day.

Its nice they are making this origins collection. Which leads me to thinking they will have another that will include 4, 5, Galaxies, Gaiden and Rebirth.

Rewind, save states, god mode, buncha extras. They’ve got my attention! Haven’t played Life Force in forever

PRIMORDUS408d ago (Edited 408d ago )

It will be available from Limited Run Games as a physical release, nice!. I want it in physical but the bad part is waiting for it to ship from LRG. https://limitedrungames.com...

The NES had Some Pretty Good Shmups

Despite hardware limitations, intrepid NES developers were able to make a massive variety of epic shoot-em-ups with gobs of enemies loosing salvoes of missiles and bullets at a hero and—magically—the system handled it all like a champ. Shmups on the NES rarely even experience any slowdown. Amazing!

tiger heli is still one of my favorites.

Yes! That game brings back childhood memories. I didn't have an NES at that time, but a kid who lived at the same apartment complex did and he was pretty stingy with his video games. On a good day he would let me play some of his NES games at his place and Life Force was one I enjoyed playing. My brother and I had an Atari 7800 then a TG16 shortly after

Gun.Smoke was what I always played. Became too much at times with all the enemies and things flying at you from every direction, fun game though.

Einhander19711592d ago

Crisis force, Gradius 2, over horizon, the three best shooters on the NES for me personally.
