Following a recently hinted, now-pulled report from the UK’s Official Xbox Magazine, it has been revealed that Microsoft is in talks with several European studios concerning the Project Gotham Racing. It is not currently known if the news piece in the magazine is related to the recent leak, though the pieces do fit the puzzle in this instance.
Koku writes: "Microsoft is keeping shush about the future of the franchise because of the attention Forza 5 has received, they have been working with third party developers to revive the PGR franchise. Microsoft has also renewed the Project Gotham Racing trademark. You may recall from the article posted on Develop, they were interviewing many European developers in hopes of finding a studio that will work on the next game in the series, well they have found un-announced developer and are waiting before they make any announcements."
It's about the damn time. I like Forza but it's been turning into a call of duty yearly release garbage. I can't complaint forza 5 turned out well but the 2 forza games before were garbage.
Dude are you nuts? Forza 4 was almost as good as Forza 3 Ultimate and Horizon was something completely different. F5 is easily the worst.

I thought Forza 4 was a bit redundant, but Forza Horizon was a very cool way to use the Forza engine. I had a blast driving around that area of Colorado in an Aventor.
I would like to see a three year cycle.
Year 1: Forza the pure racing sim (aka Forza 5)
Year 2: Forza Horizon the racing sim set in an open world.
Year 3: Project Gotham Racing
Cinotix you're blind or you haven't played Forza 3 or 4. Forza 5 is ok for about a day but it feels so routine. Does anyone else think they could have had more tracks in different parts of the world. I feel short changed when it comes to Forza 5. Oh well hopefully PGR 5 feels the void.
pgr2,3 AND 4....so many hrs spent and so much fun had on xbox live with this game!
Aw man bring back PGR, Forza can kinda boring but PGR is probably my 2nd best racing series behind Need for Speed all time.

The Kudos system! That's all I'm going to say, being rewarded for drifting the whole time. The soundtrack was one of the most enjoyable things to me about the game as well. Loved it all. :)
I hope this is true! Would be awesome having a new pgr on the X1. Hopefully more information trickles out regarding this rumor.

I agree with you, I like Turn 10 and I think they do good work, but they already have Forza and Forza Horizon. If this rumor has any truth to it then I wonder what development team will be tackling pgr. As long as they keep it stylish, fast, and fun then it will be Kudos to them!
I'm glad Turn 10 is not going to work on the game, I think same developer working on two racing franchises is waste of a resource and can be bard to focus on two big projects and produce quality at the same time.
I thought the company went belly up though, but damn that is some great news indeed.

I'd probably call it more of an arcade racer over a sim. Games like Project CARS, Assetto Corsa and Gran Turismo are sim, Forza as well but less so.

PGR is hardly a SIM racer, it's pretty arcade, I would say it's only a SIM in regards to the cars actually being licensed vehicles but in it's mechanics it's arcade.
Does anyone else agree with me that the tracks are much better and more alive in PGR than the forza games? Please don't let me be the only person to think that.
Project Gotham isn't close to being a Sim. The game is about driving luxury sports cars around the inner city, power sliding as often as possible... It's not realistic (simulation) at all.. It's just a lot of fun.

Making Shenmue an exclusive to either system would be foolish - the game isn't a sales giant (despite the fact that seemingly everyone on the internet has played it) and they would need all of the money they could get if their budget on the game is anywhere as ridiculous as it was on the first two.
Pgr, shenmue, jade empire and star wars:kotor would be great, but ill rather go for fuzion frenzy, blinx, otogi, pgr, mechassault ,conker, shenmue,star wars:kotor , jade empire, kung fu chaos, rallisport and blood wake.

Damn. Been hoping for a PGR5 for years. Loved the earlier games. Bulldog mode for PGR4 is some of the best fun ive had on a videogame.
But then again. They already have Forza Horizon. They just need to make it more PGRish by adding motorcycles and shit.
Motorcycles do not make PGR, MSR like racing makes PGR. It's a shame that MS does not wish to make a new one. But the game probably doesn't sell well enough compared to Forza or Need for Speed series, after all the "we need hyper realism or lots of explosions" gaming enthusiast is very loud these days.
Man I do miss Metropolis Street Racer and PGR 2. The latter being the reason I got an Xbox besides my Gamecube :). Oh well back then MS was still creative, and although I don't mind Kinect, one must admit that only Twisted Pixel has been creative with that piece of Hardware.

where did you get that info?most of the top ex bizzare devs formed lucid games (making games for ios)and the others joined playground games( formed by well known British games developers, such as Codemasters ,Criterion Games, Ubisoft Reflections, Slightly Mad Studios , Black Rock Studio and many other world-class developers that are known for their racing video games )they have playground close ties with turn 10 and ms.their first ever project was forza horizon for xbx 360. well i do hope they make another pgr down the line..
PGR 2 with voice chat on the original XBOX! Need I say More? Okay....
THat feeling when your Car, while dragging it's muffler over the asfalt, still comes second in the race (Even though you where rammed several times). The tricks you could do and the rewards you got for them during. The voice chat, when it was still fun and the 12 year olds of all ages (12 till 60) where not yet that dominant in it. It just was more fun!
WHere as Forza.... is ... fun... but just not Multiplayer share the fun to multiply it fun. Something that only Nintendo seems to realise these days. As the others just think of Multiplayer as "PVP! We need to ruin the Blues/Reds!". So yes MSR and PGR where more fun.
Make a sequel for Rallisport Challenge instead, that game especially number 2 was great!
One does not cancel the other ;). It is not a competition we can all have fun :). Maaan, you really are triggering some nostalgic effects for the first Xbox with me ;). Not as favourite as the gamecube for my experience, but still that thing had some very good games.
Then....the 360 happened.... the start was still nice... but damn what a joke in the end of its life. Bro Gamer console with loads of shouting in voice chat about how much of a minority of colour and sexual persuasion regarding males I am. Oh and they all know my mother. Ontop of that the games are just more of the same games these people like.
So spoiled are these "gamers" that now they are throwing a temper tantrum about resolution and a wonderfull piece of technology called Kinect (Even though it still has to show good games the technology itself is impressive).
