Its never good because hackers may already starting working on some hacks that can "penetrate" KZ3´s netcode and then big multiplayer disapointment already in the first days after release.

Weak justification. Piracy has been possible on the Xbox 360 and Wii for years. Killzone 3 leaking does _nothing_ good for gaming. All it means is that even more security measures will be put in place, that hackers will simply crack, but that us normal users have to live with.

DRM is one example that comes to mind. That's how good piracy is for gaming.

The only ones that benefit are the pirates. As others above me said "developers worked hard on the game". I totally agree with that sentence I quoted. Developers will not make any profit, developers will have to close there company and divisions and people will loser there jobs. If they lose there jobs, we won't have any games to play. No games to play, no profit for Sony and Sony will close.

I don't even know where to begin. Is PC gaming really being held back by consoles? People have had consoles in their homes since what the early 80's. Consoles have always been super popular and have always increased in numbers over the years. More people now than ever have consoles..it's not some new trend. Developers and publishers just want to make more money as their is profit to be had and a lot of it in the console market. Nothing is stopping or holding back PC development. Just because a game isn't pushing the graphical boundaries on PC does not mean it's holding anything back. It's not all about the graphics. Even way back then PC games and software were pirated using floppy discs and such. I did it back then..but not anymore. I buy all my software and games. I have around 20+ games on Steam plus have purchased every Blizzard game to come out.

My general thought on this is, piracy has some effect on companies, but it is something they can fold into profit/loss. Also, generally it has much less effect on software sales than it does on the sale of say, baby diapers. If you take 1000 boxes of baby diapers and each box has 12 bags of diapers and each bag has 36 diapers, that's 432,000 diapers. Now, all those diapers had to be produced physically, which requires all the materials to make them and a place to store the final product.

They also have to be moved and distributed through various logistic channels.

All of that has a cost involved.

Games have one cost, the cost to develop them. This can range in number. The only additional price is putting them on a medium that allows transference to the end consumer. If you copy the code and assets of a game or piece of software, you are not making it impossible to sell that product, by denying its existence to the company that sells it. You are not costing them additional money and time to reproduce the product. They can continue selling that product indefinitely, for as long as they wish, both physically or digitally.

There is very little blowback or drawback to overall profit from that standpoint.

Granted, there will be a percentage of those who pirate that might have purchased your game, if the option of piracy did not exist, but that is pure speculation and can never be measured in a meaningful way. Even if that number were 10%, it is not a make-or-break scenario for any healthy industry. Also, considering that the games industry has done nothing but grow, I can’t seem to find a reason to be all that worried or upset by piracy currently, other than sensationalistic blogs and off-handed comments by game developers who obviously would rather you bought their product, vs getting it for free.

Piracy has been around for the same length of time that we have had a software industry of any kind... yet software has always been very profitable.

Again, the PC doesn’t need help from piracy on the PS3. The PC will continue to be a leader in the industry and all the consoles will still be healthy and fine.

Piracy might generally not be good for business, but it won't be the end of it, either.

Stupid question. Does this torrent actually work? I mean anybody can pull an image off a disk and put it on torrent. But what you gonna do with it???

Xbox 360 and Wii games have always been available on torrent sites, and a PS3 game being on a torrent site will not change the gaming industry for the better.

Gratz Guerilla, amazing Studio and engine, love Decima!

I was never a huge fan of Killzone, but thoroughly enjoy Horizon. Guerrilla are superb developer and easily up there with the best of the best.

Need a killzone 2 remake from the ground up.

Great studio, loved the Killzone series, I wish they would do a remake of the first three games. Horizon is a real step up and truly put Guerrilla Games on the map.

Too bad I never got a chance to play Shellshock: Nam’67 would have loved to try that game out back in the days to see what were their beginnings.

Bring back killzone (maybe in 3rd person perspective)

It would fantastic to see what they could do in Killzone after the lessons learned through Horizon.

Or heck, give us even a short linear FPS from the people who designed Cauldron THETA in the Burning Shores expansion. Even just flying into it (after gliding around and finding its opening amongst the lava and Sunwings perched around it, with other bigger machines just along the path toward it) was an incredible experience.

Forbidden West is awesome, It’s pretty damn big compared to Zero Dawn and it takes a little while to get your skills up and get the equipment you need to fully explore the game (not going to spoil it) but once you do those things and start fighting the big ass machines it really is amazing. Some cool side quests to where you hold the fate of peoples lives by your choice and the cauldrons look amazing. Lots of skills , combos, special moves and add ons for your weapons so you can approach fights many ways. Looking forward to the name game but I wonder how/if Silas will be a part of it or not ? Sad he’s gone.

Killzone games weren’t the best shooters but damn did they look purty!!!!

Killzone 2 remade with the multiplayer

20 years of mid-tier games and they are trending down.

I'm hyped for whenever Horizon 3 releases but Killzone 1 needs a remake BAD and 2 & 3 need remasters. Criminal those games are stuck on PS3.

With the way journalists have been consistently saying BotW overshadowed Horizon you’d think the gap between an entry in a new IP and a longrunning one would be bigger Even if you want to include however much the Wii U version of BotW did, both series still did impressive numbers

i really loved the atmosphere and idea of killzone. i hope they revisit it at some point because it always had so much potential.

Bring Back Killzone please or at least a KZ2 remake with MP.
