Yeah this is an amazing trailer, I got to say that's the best trailer so far.... I am now really pumped for this game.. Can't wait..

It looks like they really optimized the game so it can reach a lot more people then the first Crysis, which you really needed a killer PC Just to play it..

This time around, just like with Crysis Warhead it looks like it will reach a lot more PC users...

If you have been watching the leaked Youtube videos then you already know the game is looking Awesome....

So I guess I'll be getting this on PC as it's looking Really good on the PC...

Looks?

What about sounds...the music makes this game. Sounds like an absolute blockbuster. This thing clearly has a monster budget and EA are trying to make this their very own COD. I cant complain, i even want the soundtrack to this thing...

KingDustero5585d ago (Edited 5585d ago )

For a shooter the sound of the actual guns and weapons matters the most sound wise. In that category KZ3 easily wins.

One can't judge a game's soundtrack from a trailer.

Non the less Crysis 2 does look amazing. I might actually pick it up since it does give a different experience than KZ3.

guigsy5585d ago

I love the music in the beta when a game is loading up, epic!

ProjectVulcan5585d ago (Edited 5585d ago )

Why bring up KZ3? I couldnt care less about it in this post. For any game sound is important to me. For a shooter to have such a fantastically high quality, high budget sounding score like Crysis 2 elevates it to another level.

Its important games have the whole package for me. The music score is another unique aspect of a modern high budget title. Crysis 2 is nailing it right there, alongside convincing voice acting. When i hear music this excellent in a game it completely sets the mood.

A few soundtracks really bring a game to life. Who didnt feel that in the original Halo, or Metal gear solid or Ocarina of time? They make you feel like you are playing something very special. Listen to this turned up loud and tell me you dont want to play this game more because of that audio...

Thrillhouse5585d ago

And Bad Company 2 beats KZ3 in sound design, and I'm certain that Battlefield 3 will beat BC2.

jeseth5584d ago

Best preview/trailer so far. Looks much more interesting than a vid I watched earlier...

But based on the console vid I watch earlier, this game is a PC buy.

Either way, coolest vid so far.

ATiElite5584d ago (Edited 5584d ago )

Nice trailer...but for some reason at the end i waiting for him to say...."I need a weapon" that would of made it BEYOND EPIC!!

GavLam885584d ago

It really does, has certainly peaked my interest. I wasn't expecting much from the story, but it actually looks really good. Can't wait to see more!

1:31 with falling building looked sick. The rest looks insane as well. I'm just wondering how well my PC will play it...

Core i5 w/ 4gb RAM.. Nvidia 360m...Asus G51j laptop btw. Anyone know? I know I only have directx 10.1 capable card which sucks.

DoomeDx5585d ago (Edited 5585d ago )

Not gonna lie, i torrented the beta (Ill buy it though).

Its awesome, and i can tell you that this trailer is not even showing its best parts.

Its incredible..it feels like the world is about to end! People around you scream, search for their family/wife..the music, the atmosphere. it feels right!

Definatly, a must buy! PC recommended though, the editor is amazing! and you can fully customize your game there. Tweak particle effects, change enemy's skin. etc

EDIT: There is a file named: Demo map in the Levels folder of Crysis.

So expect an SP Demo. It takes place on rooftops. With alot of freedom.

Adexus5585d ago

I've tried the beta, it took me absolutely ages to get it to run properly though and it crashed when I got past mission 2, but I already knew it was worth a buy anyway, this just confirmed it.

It was utterly fantasic, I hope they release an SP demo so I can play it before it releases without the crashing.

It's going to be a long month...

DoomeDx5585d ago

Buy it for PC man.
its doesnt even require a beasty PC.

PC has modding tools and such. and an editor

jbiz3205585d ago

some people dont like playing on a PC.. quit being so damned elitist.

BlackKnight5585d ago (Edited 5585d ago )

@jbiz320

How is stating pros for a platform elitist? The ONLY downside to PC is you will need a $500+ rig (The higher you go, the farther above the console visuals you get) to reap the benefits of much better graphics than consoles. (Other downside is if you have friends on another platform, but that's a downside to any platform).

PC will look and run better.
Supports mouse OR controller.
Mods.
An editor than is VERY user friendly.

Tinasumsum5585d ago (Edited 5585d ago )

JBIZ

Most of the people trying to downplay the console version don't even game on the PC. They do that because the console version is technically superior to console exclusives and the game not being shown on their console of choice. You don't really believe when ever a game with unmatched graphics comes along it magically turns every known PS3 fan into PC gamers? Just by always mentioning how the PC version is better or assuming everybody here has a gaming PC or would game on PC is proof of PS3 fans agenda. Yes there are some hardcore PC fans here but they wouldn't assume a console fan would be a PC gamer or would go out buy a PC for gaming.

Redgehammer5584d ago

The PC rules, however I am really happy with my 360 and my Sharp 36 inch non-HD television. I game on the 360, and I am going to, day one, support Crysis 2 on my 360, also. I say as long as what you enjoy does not hurt other, then do what you enjoy.

Looks like truly epic moments in this game.

Got the leak but did not go past mission 2, also muted dialogue and set subtitles to off.

Can't wait, Crytek own.
They deserver my £50 (possibly £150) as I'm getting 2 versions on PC.

@ plb

I would say at medium it will run great for you and still look just as good as Crysis Warhead on high.
Remember the leaked build is not the final version, so optimization on release version and driver updates will increase performance.

There is no steram version listed yet but it would be a mistake not to bring it to Steam.

I'm looking to get:
Steam version £25 - £35 Definitely.
Limited Edition £25 - £35 or
Nanosuit Edition £125.

Already got:
Far Cry Steam version.
Crysis Limited Edition Steel Book.
Crysis Warhead Steam version.
Crysis Wars Steam version (came with Warhead).

plb5585d ago

Do you know if Steam edition will be out before the game or does it come later?

I'm still learning how to look for the differences. At first I was focusing on shadows for some reason but I don't think that changes much, is it reflections that change?

rashada072535d ago (Edited 2535d ago )

It is supposed to be simulating how light actually works- so yes if light is reflecting off a surface accurately it should show reflection or an effect that matches what you are looking at in the environment. Next time you play a game look at a puddle of water there may be just a "baked" in texture that if you aren't paying attention seems like it is reflecting but it isn't. I would say though if the light is reflecting more accurately I would think that would give more accurate shadows as well.
I am still not 100% sold on it- it looks okay but I can't get over the hardware price jump for better reflections..

Taz X142535d ago

While games won't look immensely better, it opens up more possibilities overall. Understandably, the price jump is huge. But, that can be said for being at the forefront for any new technology. I'm currently using a 2080ti and while I've played a few games that enable it, the gpu also plays everything else incredibly well so it's not like you're buying this tech for ONLY that option. Enthusiasts will pay top dollar to check out the newest things, but this will eventually become an everyday consumer and by then they'll have optimized and become a lot cheaper.

warriorcase2534d ago

Ray/path tracing can be used how the developer wants it to be. Tracing can be used to calculate shadows/lighting, reflection and even audio, where audio waves are calculated on the bounce off material types to simulate enviroment and echos accuratly.

Should also keep in mind that this ray/path tracing system is different and less accurate option from Nvidias RTX branded type. McFly's is a reshade that layers over the top of the game and therefor the quality will vary drastically. For example you can see nice reflection in the Star Wars demo here but it then introduces colour clipping with the light saber. On a video of GTA 5 for example it was incorrectly projecting a reflection of a red car onto the road which caused a very faint red glow on the ground around the car.

If you want to see a good example of a game developed with ray tracing reflection and lighting in mind then you could look up the youtube video of "Control - Exclusive E3 RTX GAMEPLAY Trailer".

DigitallyAfflicted2535d ago

It supposed to add more realistic light Not actually more light effects and explosions

traumadisaster2534d ago

I hate to say it but I’m fine with fake lights, shadows, reflections. I just kind of like the effect, it’s also great it saves resources for other things.

I’ve been checking out some original Xbox games on x360/x1x and the engine has fake light streaming in through a stained glass window, and I love it even though I know it’s not real time lighting. Heck it even shifts as I move about.

I’ve about convinced my self rt and hdr just doesn’t work for me. Before hdr I would even complain damn why are the headlights killing me they are so bright.

I notice most frame rate, then jaggies, then resolution; with the last two interchangeable depending.

Other day watched an enthusiast rave over 4k and the poor guy was in 1080p. I played the same game the night before and thought wow this is clean, I wonder if it’s 4k, but knew differently and I thought wow even resolution is not always important. The next day he apologized and was surprised he could be fooled.

RaidenBlack2534d ago

EA should have released the Crysis Trilogy Remaster for this gen.

FGHFGHFGH2529d ago

How come the lightsabers don't give off any light? Even in the EA star wars game the guy uses it to light up a dark cave. I guess if it is using frostbite it will support rtx cards.
