On February 12th, Nintendo held an event in Bristol giving the United Kingdom a chance to test out the upcoming Nintendo 3DS. One of the more interesting items present was a Prism that projected a 3D image, is this Nintendo’s next giant leap?

The rejection is non-final (and even when such rejections are labeled as “final”, the process is far from over, given that there can be, at minimum, an appeal to the Federal Circuit).
Good, as they should! A game mechanic like that shouldn't be locked behind a patent, and Nintendo didn't invent it either.
Nintendo wants to keep wasting money on bullshit lawsuits, real smart in this economy. They should put that money aside for other game projects. On the other hand, I don't care if they waste it all either, and they are screwed in the future maybe that will teach them a lesson.

Nintendo completed its share repurchase and set its secondary offering price at 8,347 yen ahead of March 16 delivery.

Nintendo filed a lawsuit in the United States Court of International Trade.
Nintendo of America is suing the United States government over the sweeping tariffs President Donald Trump put in place last year, according to a complaint filed Friday in the U.S. Court of International Trade and obtained by Aftermath.
LOL I read this on gaff, will they refund the money back to the gamers? highly unlikely. Didn't they just raise prices and pass it onto the gamers? Only Nintendo would send out the Ninjas to the US government.
Cool video, iam very interested on what Nintendo will do with there next gen console..knowing Nintendo they will try something new.
And if there gonna use holographic technology on there next gen console then i cant wait to see how they gonna use it for games :)
personally i think next gen will offer a combination of 3D + motion control(body or devices) for holographic..to give u an example here is a quote from digital foundry GT5 analyze.
"The next stage in gaming immersion is to combine 3D with head-tracking for a VR-viewpoint that would physically allow you to look around and explore the environment - or in the case of GT, look around those sumptuous cabins or cast your gaze ahead to the next corner on the track. In a recent interview with Develop, SCEE's 3D evangelist Mick Hocking talks about "holographics", though curiously nobody asked him what he was specifically referring to with that term... so we did."
eh.........less gimmicks and more actual good games please
i have a feeling nintendo will do some kind of holograhpic/3d console next. thats just my prediction though.
This is interesting, but it would be better if it showed the sides of the image when you view the side walls of the pyramid and the back when you view the back wall of the pyramid.
I'm not sure how they would make this into a viable retail product, but I think hologram like devices are going to be the future. But, that could be 2 decades away for all anybody knows.
Pfft, holograms aren't supposed to be sealed off. Is there some sort of projector-based hologram yet?
