Twisted Metal set for a Spring release

Warp Zoned writes:

"Sony has updated the release date information for Twisted Metal on its PlayStation.com listing and it looks like we may know when we can finally strap on the demonic clown mask own more time. Perhaps it was a bit premature, but someone at Sony has changed the game's release date to say 'Spring 2011.'"

Indeed! Twisted metal is awesome. It is a bit weird tho that we dont know much about it and it will be release in few months. I will doubt this date until we have an official announcement.

BiggCMan5575d ago

Well you could say the same about L.A Noire. We don't know a whole lot about it compared to other soon to be released games, and its coming in May. If this is true though, I will be very happy. I'm highly anticipating this game, I've been a fan since the beginning. I would like to see some new footage though.

DarkSpawnClone5575d ago (Edited 5575d ago )

OH HELL YEAH Spring release ? of my most anticipated game of the year YES PLEASE Twisted Metal is the best!!...i don't care if we don't know much about twisted metal i have played them all!! Twisted metal is twisted metal that's all you need to know! oh man thank you Jaffe!!!!!

Daver5575d ago

@DarkSpawnClone

My point was not about what we know of the twisted metal franchise... It is just weird that we know so little about this one and they would release it in spring, they usually share informations before...

frostypants5575d ago

WOOOOOO! YES!

It's been TOO LONG! Finally.

Cloudberry5575d ago

.
I hope there would be enough games left for summer, if this is true.

There are no release date for inFamous 2, Sorcery, and buch of others yet.

MariaHelFutura5575d ago

Summer always sucks for game releases. Why? I have no clue....

Rage_S905575d ago

because people go outside in the summer and go on holiday im guessing

Memo-Xen x31005575d ago (Edited 5575d ago )

It does suck but I believe companies think they will reach a broader audience in spring/fall/winter months because of less than favorable weather eliminating some peoples options for outdoor recreation. I personally don't believe TM will release this spring but here's to hoping.

Kleptic5575d ago

yeah my guess is that most people...go outside...in the summer...

It's definitely when i spend the least amount of time gaming...

I guess this is good news about TM though...but at the same time, i doubt i'll be ready for it if it does come this spring...killzone 3 was going to be my go to until it gets nice out...then won't need anything new until fall...which, i thought, was when TM would drop...

Infamous 2 is a July or August 2011 release !

ryanelittlefield5575d ago

Crap, more of my money is going to fly out of my wallet sooner than expected.

....I guess I can't be sad about that.

KillerPwned5575d ago

This sounds right i think count me in day 1 buy. If their is a nice decently priced Special Edition with good stuff ill get that for this game.

DarkSpawnClone5575d ago

yeah same here i got to have that sweet tooth mask!

Burning_Finger5575d ago

I'm NOT READY!!

With NGP around the corner...I'll be broke as F***.

Daver5575d ago

I think NGP is only out for Japan this year, but i could be wrong

Wow cyberpunk is a great pick up. If you haven’t played it you should definitely give it a try

Christopher312d ago

Banishers was dragged down by the need to go back to old areas multiple times.

GhostScholar313d ago

Also if you bought it at launch and couldn’t deal with all the bugs it’s a totally different game now

stupidusername312d ago

Played it on release and thought it was a mess. But I'm currently playing it again now on both PS5 and Switch 2 with cross save progression, and it's really different to how I remember it. Really enjoying it now, and it's really polished and immersive.

darthv72313d ago

Despite owning the 2077 One X console and the steelbook edition of the game... i still have never played it. I may actually give 2077 a try (via the portal) as there has been so much talk about it again, thanks to SW2 and now this comparison vid from DF. https://youtu.be/SvGQik3m6a...

dveio313d ago (Edited 313d ago )

I think it's an okay decision or happening.

iirc, wasn't there even a new and probably last update coming soon announced recently?

I've never played 2077, neither. (I am still a bit mad about their ... well, anyway.)

But I think it can't get better to play that game, or any game for that matter, in a 100% complete, fully updated build.

DivineHand125313d ago

Cyberpunk and Risk of rain 2 are the best of the bunch. Not a bad month if you are one of the few that haven't played those games.

yeastori313d ago

Cyberpunk is probably one of the best games I've ever played, even when it came out with all the bugs and glitches and broken gameplay on consoles, I still loved it at its core because the world was exactly what I wanted in a dystopian vision of the real future and the story was actually well done and compelling. With the fixes and then Phantom Liberty I just knew that this game could've been GOTY winner if it hadn't been released too early and released on PS5. XBX and two years later.

shinXseijuro313d ago

Might give cyberpunk a chance now that the game redeemed itself . Is it only the basic game or with the newer content ?

xHeavYx313d ago

According to the article, it's just the base game, but the DLC will be 30% off

TM3 is my favorite but I'll take what they bring out gladly. Fun times back in the day and great soundtracks

Cacabunga595d ago

Last one on ps4 wasn’t good at all.
Hoping for some good reboot or remake of the first 3

Dagexon595d ago

You mean the one on ps3?

Cacabunga594d ago

Yes i do, thanks! I realized too late couldn’t edit

Lego 2K Drive features an exciting mode called Brick Brawl, inspired by Twisted Metal. Players can create, share, and upload various cars, including ones like Sweet Tooth. The game boasts thousands of custom cars, ranging from the Batmobile to the Sweet Tooth ice cream truck.

InUrFoxHole595d ago

Never understood the like for the series. Not my bag but I know a lot of gamers are clamoring for a new game and liked the TV. Series

TiredGamer595d ago (Edited 595d ago )

TM1 and 2 are time period classics. They were a bit rough, ugly, and grungy, but they felt right during the time period they were released and they scratched that early console “death match” itch before FPS games would completely swallow that market.

Many great memories with friends playing couch co-op and 1v1. Short, and quick-and-dirty gameplay that we returned to over and over. I’d buy a remake or proper remastering of the first two games day one.

InUrFoxHole595d ago

Lol, nice! I remember having the tiger handheld or watch..

FinalFantasyFanatic594d ago

I played those so much as I kid, I bought the Twisted Metal games that were on PSN as Playstation Classics, wow, they feel clunky by today's standards, they could really use the remake/remaster treatment.

UltimateOwnage595d ago

Twisted Metal: Black is when the series really hit for me. I still love that game so much. It was kind of downhill for the series after that IMO. I'd love to see the series go back to its roots, but I don't hold out a lot of hope for David Jaffe coming back from where he is these days to oversee development of a competent sequel.

Snookies12594d ago

Black was the pinnacle in my opinion. I adored TM1 and TM2, for sure. But Black brought it to a whole new level of awesome.
