Should Alan Wake return from the darkness

From the game style, the creative use of dark and light, the Brightfalls live action prequel, the characters, voice acting, and everything else. I thought the plot was original, well thought out, and the design of each level as a TV episode was genius. Wake is positively cinematic if you ask me.

It should only return if Remedy can achieve the following:

- 720P native resolution
- Open world sandbox
- Better storyline
- Better character development
- Better boss fights
- Better graphics

Alan Wake was a fantastic game...no game like it anywhere on any system. Having said that it will return and this time I'm hoping they bring some co-op on-line game play. You can't be on the XBL heavy 360 without any on-line play.

No matter what they do they, as well as M$ will have to find a solution to the piracy that game suffered from. It was confirmed to be one of the most pirated games on 360 with a total of 1.14 million downloads.

Look forward to seeing AW in the near future. I hope they don't turn the game into a Kinect franchise as there is persistent rumors they are...

Some of my favorite AW game play...Rusty R.I.P

But because it doesn't, I am not missing out on anything at all. It's just an average game, not really worthy of my time or money.

I dont know. The first one made a big splash to Xbox gamers. So they might go ahead with a sequel

A Late Look: Alan Wake

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "All in all, it’s not hard to see why Alan Wake has received a bit of a cult following (there’s that famous foreshadowing again). It’s a title that blends themes and gameplay, while pushing the limits of storytelling by putting stories within stories and letting you read those stories before you get to that part in… the story. It has flaws, to be sure - the gameplay side can’t quite keep up with the rest of its ambitions - but overall it’s a great game that stands out among its peers and is undeniably… one for the books."

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

jznrpg170d ago

People sometimes call Wal-Mart Wally World including myself

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia758d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie758d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie758d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh758d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.
