Recently PS3Land had a chance to interview Kevin Meredith, Director of Business Development at IDV INC. and SpeedTree. Basically the interview went over some of the things that SpeeTree offers for next gen development and what to expect to see in the future.
If you dont know what SpeedTree is then your in luck because this interview will provide information about the tool and all the games you will find it in.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.
Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.
More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.
Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.
All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
What nice looking vegetation and trees! I like how those houses look too, very impressive.
Just what this Gri-System needed Prerendered Trees program.Creating Trees and it mutiple effects on PS3 and ps2 hardware is very difficult (Just imagine wanting to make multiple trees Blow at different rates and individual Leave section move with limited memory). Notice that this is on PS3 Side Instead of 360 (although this is in Oblivion.) because PS3 Developer cannot Develop Trees With all of it splendor because Spreading the info is a pain in the ass and along with Memory issues, time consuming and Funds makes this a Bit Better for Developers that are small budgeted. So this is Good News for Sony's developers.
Well I would say this is good news for developers of all consoles. I was the one who did this interview and I can list tons of games that use SpeedTree on the Xbox 360.
-Oblivion
-APB
-Two Worlds
-Saints Row
-2 Days 2 Vegas
-Project Gotham 3
-ect.
so its not just Sony.
Hey, its Barbie Ken here, I just want to say that this new speedtree technology looks gr8 and that it will benefit the tru next gen consoles entirely. BTW...could you buy a pos3? I need the money!1!!one!1!one
We have yet to see SpeedTree technology to its fullest for as we've seen in Oblivion, PGR3 and Full Auto, there is nothing but cross-textured branches without individual leaves(as the SpeedTree images show, there are all individual branches having individual leaves) so this procedural approach has yet to be developed to the level that even the wind effects may be shown !
