Lol 2 million for the fiscal year? I'm sure it'll sell a lot more than that.

2 million in 6 weeks is a lot for a fighting game, that's more than what Street Fighter IV sold in the same amount of time.

Kamikaze1355594d ago

Yeah, but a sequel to Marvel Vs Capcom 2 has been asked for, for such a long time and hyped after it was announced. I'm not a fan for fighting games, but I'm sure this game can pull it off. Especially being a major game and a cross over game so fans of Marvel and fans of Capcom will definitely be all over this.

I guess having low standards is the easiest way to surpass your expectations.

what just 2 million ?

SE was dissapointed for selling than 5 million !!!

what a weird world(earth)loool

Kamikaze1355594d ago (Edited 5594d ago )

To be fair, SE needed those sales to make up for their huge losses.

DFresh5594d ago

Yeah yet most of the reasons why they had losses in the first place was because of poor management by Wada and not listening to what the consumers wanted is what caused Square Enix to be in the financial collapse they are in now.

I'm still pissed about the dlc.

despair5594d ago

Its capcom so that's to be expected, paid dlc on launch day, paid dlc unlocked on the disk and future paid dlc. Then a rerelease of the game with "improvements" 6 months later.

ceedubya95593d ago

thankfully, It doesn't come out until a month later. A generation ago, in order to have new characters, we'd have to buy a completely new game. Now, adding new characters to a game that otherwise may not have been there is considered a ripoff these days.

Would we be satisfied if the game was just released as is, with no plans for adding new characters? It seems that these developers are digging themselves a hole with gamers by announcing paid DLC plans before a game is released. Gamers feel that the content should already be on the disc and available to the gamer at release. But are we willing to wait extra months to get everything planned all at once? It seems like a dilemma for everyone involved.

Every Marvel vs. Capcom Character, Together At Last

Artist Chris Cayco, who we’ve featured a few times before on Kotaku, grew up playing Marvel vs. Capcom (and Marvel vs. Street Fighter) games. His tribute to this, which took him over 175 hours, was to combine every single character to ever appear in Capcom’s crossover series in the one enormous image.

Every Capcom Vs. Game Ranked

As common as it is today, it is hard to believe that there was a time where gaming franchises crossing over was just a pipe dream. Capcom broke down the wall, but they took the combination of some of the most unlikely of franchises and made it the norm.

Whether it was a colossal successful partnership with Marvel Comics or a collaboration with rivals Namco and SNK, the “Vs.” series brought unforgettable experiences to the fighting genre.
