cool, i didnt expect a sequal until 2009. But knowing Sony it wont come out until then

unless it has splitscreen they can hold their breath before I will buy that game. Along with thousands of others, MS got old fast I played it for maybe 3 hours total and gave it away.

I hope they expand on it not just Motorstorm 2 but other games. And cut the load times. I wish the next Twisted Metal maybe used this engine but still added it's own Twisted Metal flavor.

motorstorm 1's graphics were really nice, you can only imagine the next one.

I not a huge fan of racing games, mario kart is my fav and excite truck was also pretty fun but i must say motorstorm is super fun for racing fanatics to the casual racer. I still feel its pretty early for a sequel tho and they need to put split screen i mean if i want to play with a friend at my crib its impossible unless i have to ps3's and two motorstorms. "i dont care i dont care i dont care i dont care care no i dont care" or whatever he says on that song LOL

They don't release a "in game" trailer that looks too-good-to-be-true and ends up looking NOTHING like the final product. That put a bad taste in my mouth when they pulled that sh*t. Granted, that didn't affect my decision to purchase the game, but it DID bum me out because I had my hopes up so high that I got a bit let down.

All I ask for is more tracks

To all who are downplaying this game, Motorstorm 1 was basically a launch title because it launched in Japan when the PS3 launched. Burnout sucked with there first game but now they are one of the best racing franchises and Motorstorm 2 will be one of the best.

If you want my money.

More cars, more tracks, lots of vehicle upgrades, two player split screen, online races... let's see. 1080P 60FPS would be nice but I'd settle for 720P 60FPS... That's all. Nothing more.

racing game that competes with this so far. No game like it On ANY OTHER CONSOLE. Motorstorm is a BLAST and beautiful

I hope they have other enviroments than deserts and canyons. It could be called Motorstorm 2: World Tour or something. No urban enviroments, but stuff like jungles, forests and ice levels.

I hope the sequel has the following:

1) Replays that you can watch from differnt angles and save (like in Gran Turismo)
2) Weather patterns would be cool - for example: start a race that the track is dry and have a rainstorm move in and mess up the place
3) When you race at night have the lights of the vehicles actually project beams of light

Looking forward to more of this great game!

and was very pleased but it was not worth $60 to me. it should have sold for about $40-$50 considering it only had a season mode. It was one of a few good games out at the time so I bought it but would have rather bought DIRT if I had the option. Still looking foward to Motorstorm 2. Want a complete racing game buy DIRT.

there's not a racing game on the 360 that's even in the same time zone as Motorstorm, and I'm sure the second installment won't disappoint either. If you don't like this game, then you either suck ballz at it or hate SNE for the hell of it. THis game ROCKS! Looks like another successful IP for the Playstation brand.

just please PLEASE give some 1st PERSON VIEW and some split screen.
and more tracks wouldn`t hurt.

and w/ all those flaws in the 1st Mstorm it still is ONE OF THE BEST racing games to date.

and that says alot, considering what it SHOULD have.

Motorstorm is great fun, but not everyone plays online all the time.
sometimes its great fun to play against real friends.

I dont mind if Motorstorm 2 takes a slight performance hit to allow multiplayer & LAN options. If it does this it could become a modern classic.

Although a sequel is pretty early. Take your time on it Evolution. While your at it, enrich the original via the PS network.

I'm expecting more over the top arcade style racing action.

And now RUMBLE is back, too. That'd be a huge plus in the game.

mode{2} a race were you can jump from vechile to vechile and have punch-ups on the top of vechiles, Have a buddy on a motorbike jump into your truck for some extra help
mode{3} a 50 player punch up on a moving train {just for fun}

FOOTBALL MODE
form a team win the match {cars repaired after each goal}

It was fun.. we hope MS2 will deliver and not overrated like it did on MS1 (weak online mode)

What a surprise...who didn't see this coming? I am sure this will be a great game just like the first one. This will be great with the new rumble controller.

loved MS1 and 2 should be even better! why does everyone want split screen so much? tell your tight mates to go buy there own ps3! im not sharing an inch of my HD lovelyness!

4 player splitscreen and a minimap in youre left corner, then the game would rock bigtime =)

motorstorm is cool but i like pgr gt forza burnout a lot better.

Motorstorm is a really fun game, but the lack of splitscreen made it quite useless at many times ^^. So if they get splitscreen, and maybe more variating enviroments i will get the sequel too.

The first was a pretty good launch title, but the second one was awesome and probably my favourite racing game on the platform

Motorstorm was one of the game bundled with PS3 when it was launched. It was a really good game. It's sequel Motorstorm: Pacific Rift was even better

❤️ the Motorstorm games. Had to pull the PS3 Slim back out to play these gems, Heavenly Sword, and the Resistance games. Why these games have not been remastered, continued, or remade baffles my mind.

Imagine a new one on PS5 but with Wreckfest-style damage and physics, would be amazing.

The first Motorstorm was the only game in my adulthood that drove me to want to break my controller. The rubberbanding was such bullshit. I'm in the lead, full use of boost and as soon as I let off the boost, I think it was the semi with the least amount of time with boost and not good on whatever surface I was on, and it comes flying by me, which should be flat out impossible. They pull over in front of me and lay on the brakes. That happened a lot late in the game. Plus stuff like being blown up by a dirt bike ramming me in my truck. If the point of the AI is to get in front of me and slow me down instead of winning the race, it isn't a racing game.

I remember the first time I saw this game, I was blown away by the graphics.

A remaster of these games would be very welcomed.

Personally prefer Road Rash (PS1,PC) and ESPN Extreme Games for the fun factor, wish they would bring those back. Standard racing games get boring for me, i need some fun like attacking other players. It's been a while since i played the first Motorstorm, don't remember if that was part of the gameplay or just a minor thing that didn't do much.

I really enjoyed the first Motostorm, but it didn't deliver what Phil said about the presentation being real gameplay. I believe the PS5 could definitely recreate the chaotic fast paced frenzy shown in the E3 presentation with actual gameplay. A remake is needed. It's been more than 15 yrs.

It is very sad they stopped these games. They could have evolved to be the quintessential open-world arcade racer and become to Playstation, what the Forza Horizon games are to Xbox. A crying shame they didn't get to flourish and absolutely criminal that they have never been rereleased.

Brilliant games all, but I think the AI was pretty rediculous as you progressed through the career, especially in respect of Pacific Rim. The games became almost unplayable difficult with some of the timetrial and elimination events.
