Alan Wake back down to $19.66 at Amazon

Conflicting Gamers - "This statement will probably get me ostracized… “I liked Alan Wake.” There…I said it. DEAL. Say what you want about it, but it was a good game. Entertaining to the end. And now Amazon has brought the price back down. For a limited time, you can pick up a copy of Alan Wake for only $19.96. The game got very decent reviews across the board with GameSpot giving it an 8.5 and saying about it, “Creepy atmosphere, fantastic combat, and clever storytelling make Alan Wake’s quest thrilling from beginning to end.” I agree completely…will you?"

Amazing...

If you own a 360 and still don't own Alan Wake....shame on you. This game should be on every 360 gamer's "to do" list...

sickbird5643d ago

Playing it right now, it's good but i wouldn't call it a "must have" worth $20 though.

InTheLab5643d ago

It's a must have if you'r into mature titles. And by mature, I don't mean blood, gore, F bombs, and bewbs all over the screen.

Don't get me wrong...I enjoy those things from time to time but it's way lopsided in favor of Frat boy mature.

I really appreciate Remedy's effort in making Alan Wake a game for adults and daring to be different.

In my opinion, it's well worth the Day 1 price...but I understand if some disagree.

I'm glad you're at least enjoying it :)

I like the game, just don't consider it a must have.

I am also not into "frat boy" mature aka BulletStorm.

I thought Alan Wake was a decent enough game, but I couldn't stand the voice actor they picked to do Wake's voice.

The guy sounds like he has a head full of mucus and it was driving me crazy throughout the entire game.

It got to the point where I refused to let him read those pieces of paper that he would find, just so I wouldn't have to listen to that disgusting snot-voice.

Pro tip: All voice actors should be forced to blow their noses before reading scripts. lol

Get it, Alan Wake is a very good game. Maybe not GOTY nominee, but it's an extremely solid game.

I have a PS3 but I completed Alan Wake on my brothers 360. It's one the best games I've played on any platform. Don't care what some fools say about this game - it's awesome!

SKUD5643d ago

Still waiting for PC version....

ATiElite5643d ago (Edited 5643d ago )

Yep, I feel your pain.

I remember when Alan Wake was a sandbox open world adventure/thriller coming to the PC then M$ came in and killed it. you would think since they lost cash on this (5 years development, TV commercials, less than 800k sales) they would finish the PC version and release it on Steam.

SKUD5642d ago

Completely agree. This game deserves a second chance.

Kran5643d ago

Hey, you. Yes you. Do you have Alan Wake?

If not... BUY IT NOW!

The steal of the year. Get this game now!

A Late Look: Alan Wake

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "All in all, it’s not hard to see why Alan Wake has received a bit of a cult following (there’s that famous foreshadowing again). It’s a title that blends themes and gameplay, while pushing the limits of storytelling by putting stories within stories and letting you read those stories before you get to that part in… the story. It has flaws, to be sure - the gameplay side can’t quite keep up with the rest of its ambitions - but overall it’s a great game that stands out among its peers and is undeniably… one for the books."

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

gigoran8818d ago

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

jznrpg230d ago

People sometimes call Wal-Mart Wally World including myself

Tacoboto817d ago

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia818d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Chocoburger818d ago

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie818d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

Profchaos818d ago

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie818d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh818d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.
