I'd say I'm about 95% single player, 5% multiplayer (which pretty much only consists of Modern Warfare 2).

There's just no substance in multiplayer, so I'm finding myself getting less and less interested in it as I get older. Good stories and amazing experiences never get old, though.

Singleplayer. I hate waiting for people online and then hear them talking crap, and watch them playing like they were on drugs. If I play in multiplayer I play on split screen.

Mostly single player. I only play multiplayer when I find a game that REALLY suits me. I don't know what the criteria are, but sometimes a game just hits me like that. Unreal Tournament games always seem to get their teeth into me for the multiplayer. Warhawk got me addicted a few years ago. Left 4 Dead co-op (not the competitive) was something I was obsessed with for a while. But not really much. I play 95% of my game-time in single-player.

I love my uncharterd 2 multiplayer or Ac brotherhood multiplayer but FPS are blah. Gotta be in the mood for those

I would take a quality single player campaign like Uncharted 2 over a great multi player anyday.

I love MP I do enjoy SP games mainly RPGs or JRPGs as the stories are often amazing

I'm single player unless I'm playing a Tom Clancy game like Rainbow 6 or Ghost Recon.

Single player, very rarely play mp unless it's local mp.

Deep, engaging, single player experiences are what's most imortant to me.

Stories which capture my imagination and game worlds which you can explore and get lost in.

Multiplayer has been whored out, especially this generation. People want multiplayer in every single game, even when it's not suited. It's as if the expectations of gamers have changed. And I've noticed a trend of opinion, that if a game doesn't have co-op or multiplayer, it's not worth their time or money... Sad times!

I always buy a game for single player. I play that first then try the multi-player and if its any good then play that until it gets boring. I normally get a little bored with multi-player between 10 and 20 hours gameplay when I've done everything and got every extra in that game. I have had multi-player games that I've stopped playing after a few minutes, 'cause they were so bad.
There have been a few games where multi-player has been better than single though, eg BFBC1+2.

It depends on my mood, well mostly I do prefer a solid singleplayer campaign with good story etc etc. But sometimes it can be fun with a really fun MP experience like Battlefield 1943.

Definately SP. Stories, charactor, plot twist, set pieces, emotion, over coming the challenge the programmer have laid out for you. These are all great traits of single player gaming.

I really dont get the mass appeal of MP gaing. Not only do you virtually get none of what I just mentioned, its almost all the same. 90% of MP is deathmatch, ctf or some variaat.

I watched the latest video of Crysis, and while the game looked great, I couldnt help but think how boring it was. Just run and gun over and over and over again. No sublty, no naunce, no room to be creative. I understand you guys love it, but its just lost on me.

I play games for character development, atmosphere, an immersive environment. Not to get sweared at by a 13 year old.

Single player is great for the story and to add some backstory to elements of the game. However, multiplayer is what keeps me coming back for months after release.

Single for life. Multiplayer is an overrated bitch.

Single player for life. Great games focus on incredible Single player, and add in mediocre multiplayer. mediocre games focus on great multi player and add in a shotty single player.

OK, riddle me this. If the majority of people here prefer SP, why is MP so popular and why does everything have to have an MP part tacked on?

Blinx was terrible. I remember playing it and thinking wtf?

Someone really need to revive Blinx, or make a game like it, the idea of the time power is really good, they just need to improve it, and its way more interesting than in quantum break.
