Playing Magicka isn't about going through the motions with a control scheme you've used a thousand times before. It requires some reflex training that can reward you with wildly entertaining success on the field of battle. Unfortunately, Arrowhead's game is in need of patching at the time of this review, and bugs, crashes and connectivity issues occur with regularity. Even so, with a level-headed team of four, Magicka's cooperative action is entrancing chaos. It's rare for a game to feel this mechanically satisfying.

As Arrowhead Game Studios turns 15, join us in celebrating its past and learn how its first game Magicka influenced Helldivers 2.
I played Magicka, but I never realized it was the same dev as Helldivers. Makes plenty of sense considering how much friendly fire is in Magicka lol

"The founders of Arrowhead Game Studios (the team behind one of the world's biggest international game successes with the game "Magicka") is now investing in the Swedish Gaming company Mind Detonator whose business concept is to capture talent at a very early stage and build the next generation of gaming developers far from the big cities." - Arrowhead Game Studios

Arrowhead Studios, the developers of Helldivers and the Magicka series are working on a new third-person online co-op game.
I think this is a way too low of a score for this game. First of all. Why exactly is presentation so low? I found no faults with that whatsoever. The game has hilarious moments and dialog. The graphics are quite beautiful as well, especially some of the spell effect combinations when you've got 4 players on screen at once. The gameplay is very cool in multiplayer and even pretty fun for single-player, the controls were hard to get used to for me, but once I got used to it, I really loved it. Very unique game, great ideas in play here.
Edit: They reference bugs & crashes for the presentation down-score, but the game had a release-day patch that fixed everything, so at this point (more than a day after the game came out and has already been fixed) is it really fair to have that in the review when it wouldn't even apply to anybody who bought the game today? (And no, it truly wouldn't, because when you buy this game, it's downloadable only, so you're automatically going to get the up-to-date version).
No where in the review does it mention that the game cost $10.
That the media 4 u!!
Nice game!
I LOVE this game! 7/10? I don't agree with that at all. At least 8.5. ESPECIALLY given the game is $10.
The devs had released a patch a day almost since the game releases to fix the small bugs they had.
Multi (outside of LAN) is still a bit odd at times. But it does work.
Oh well, review scores are all a matter of opinion. My opinion is this game is a 8.7 all around. I hope this dev sells a crap ton of this game and makes a part 2 soon!
This game is awesome. I love how magic is used. Geez, it's like they cant appreciate innovative PC games.
