Why is this news? We've had rumble controllers since the Nintendo 64 brought it out the RumblePak as an add-on. Why celebrate the fact Sony have only just got round to bringing this out? How long has the PS3 been out? A year. What stopped them adding this in development? Thats the question someone should be sticking to them.

Sorry, but the amount of celebration over a minor feature only demonstrates how desperate the PS3 owners are for something that justifies the burning hole in their pocket.

actually rumble was 2 gens ago. rumble + motion = this gen. Move on!

wheyyy great news. i can live without rumble though.. i never got dual shock for ps1, obv dual shock 2 came with ps2, and i havent really noticed it missing in sixaxis.
however, i do need more controllers, so im gonna wait for these to come out :)

I am sure that the demo model that IGN used was NOT the real rumble controller. It's obvious they put that one out there to get the stories going but I am sure they will announce the REAL TouchSense rumble during the conference. It would be dumb of them to put it out there before the conference. Also....if BURNOUT has ruuuuuuuuummmmmmmbleeee.... do you think ...could it be true...warhawk ?!??!

It's good they finally slapped in some rumble. I wouldn't even care if they got rid of the motion entirely. It would not be missed. Just let it be a bad memory....

It's amazing how when E3 rolled around and Microsoft did their press conference IGN said there was nothing shocking announced that we didn't already know about or that was rumored. How is this a shock when rumble support for the PS3 was rumored when Sony settled with Immersion months ago this is not shocking come on IGN please give me some real shocking news about the PS3 I didn't already know about.

I really only liked rumble on racing games anyway. I might pick one of those controllers up. With burnout coming out the controller should get here first.

will they get rid of all the old SIXAXIS controllers?They should make retailers send the ones left in to be rumbled since this seems to show that its possible since they didn't notice the controller until it rumbled.They should sell at the same price of $50 unless they want to sell them cheaper than hell bring it on.

Wow, they are making a big deal out of something that both the PS2 and 360 have had since they launched....OMG ROXORZ your BOXORZ, especially when it is going to cost PS3 owners at least 100 bucks to replace their now useless Sixaxis controllers, BS, Sony should replace them all!

Cool. Finally they give us what we've always wanted.

Now that the rumble feature is going to be added that maybe someone with brains up in SONY Headquarters would've suggested to revamp the current model i.e. 1.) the L1/2 & R1/2 get to slip after awhile
2.) Making the controller bigger for people who have bigger hands.
All in all I truly think that the current model controller should be redesigned.
The PS3 on the other hand is amazing but I'm still waiting for the Firm Update # 2.00

Good news, i can use this new controller in alot of the shooter games, I'm still waiting for the update too secur1ty911 i hope it will include in-game XMB

weighted-motor tech we've been using for the past eleven years. Got sick and tired of that, especially after Blazing Angels where the force feedback just got repetitive and annoying. I'll only accept this if the Sixaxis motion sensing is left unaffected by the 'rumble'.
