TimeGate has revealed plans to push a third Section 8 game into development following the release of the second entry in the series.
The studio is currently working on Section 8: Prejudice - a downloadable sequel to the 2009 original - but has designs to expand the franchise further.
"We are committed to the franchise: we're already working on the next one, and we're going to make it better and better," CEO Adel Chaveleh said.
The exec went on to say that the firm has not yet decided whether the next game will be a first-person shooter like its predecessors. He is also uncertain whether it will follow in the footsteps of Prejudice as a digital exclusive.
"As for the next product and how it's evolving and [the] business model and everything else, we don't know whether it's going to be a true sequel again or whether we are going to go off and do a new type of game in the Section 8 universe," he said.
"We're going to continue to watch the marketplace and make decisions based on timing and everything else. We're not rigidly focused on how we bring the product to market."

For a limited time only, Bundle Stars, the direct-to-consumer company focusing on digital downloads, is launching its biggest PC game bundle to date. Gamers have the chance to download and own 12 standalone PC games for the price of just $5.
