The 3DS is set to become Nintendo’s most successful handheld yet, with its ability to produce 3D visuals without the need for clunky glasses. What’s great about the system is that it has a switch to turn the 3D effect off. Unfortunately, Nintendo is allowing developers to ship 3DS games that don’t have 3D visuals whatsoever, a decision that will come to haunt the company after launch.

The United States' National Videogame Museum has acquired one of the earliest prototypes of the Nintendo PlayStation system that never came out.
Nintendo: "Join us on March 3 at 6am PT for a new Indie World Showcase! Tune in for roughly 15 minutes of news and updates on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch."
I see a pattern here, like last year. Partners Showcase > Indie World > General Direct?

Nintendo has announced its financial results for the first 9 months of the fiscal year, new official sales figures for the Nintendo Switch 2, and more.
17M+ units in 6 months! Others on this site are insisting on only 10M units. XD
And as for Switch 1 total sales, it will only take a few months for it to surpass the 160M of PS2.
I still believe the Switch 2 is not gonna be as successful as the OG Switch. We'll see ;)
That is pretty amazing. I love what Nintendo did with the Switch 2 as they fixed every issue I had with the original and it seems devs agree given the amount of 3rd party support it is receiving.
All those clickbait YouTubers and Twitter users are going to be working overtime to try and swing this as a bad thing, when it continues to defy expectations and break records.
The Switch 2 has now outsold the Steam Deck nearly 3x over and is outselling the OG Switch by nearly 5,000,000 with half a year of sales to go for its first year.
I think that what Nintendo is doing makes perfect sense. 3D is probably more expensive to make, and forcing this extra time and money on potential developers for the system would hurt Nintendo even more. Besides, no 3D gives devs a chance to make the graphics even better than what we've seen so far.
3D is marginally more expensive to implement. There's no reason for Nintendo to not to make it mandatory. Think about it.
"Hey, how come some of my 3DS games aren't in 3D?"
The games are going to cost upwards of $50. They should be using the platform's primary selling point. Ne excuses.
I think Nintendo did the right choice no to make it mandatory. I mean look if they did that then indie devs probably dont have the resource to do it. I highly doubt it would hurt Nintendo
