"Well, the somewhat adequate year of 2010 is finally over, and have we had a time. Okay, not really, but it wasn’t all bad. I mean, Dance Central actually proved to be pretty fun, Red Dead Redemption came out with a lot of really good DLC, and Square Enix finally learned not to be so damn smug- Final Fantasy XIV anyone? But all of my friends, yes all four of them, came up to me an asked, “What’re your TOP FIVE GAMES of the 2010, Nox?” to which I swiftly answered, “Leave me alone.”

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.
Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

RDR is one of my top games of 2010. i'd trade 3-5 any day for it
While I did enjoy RDR, I think that Mass Effect 2 tops it. Heck, my top five games for 2010 are:
1) Mass Effect 2
2) EA Sports Active 2.0
3) Starcraft 2
4) Red Dead Redemption
5) Final Fantasy XIV- just kidding!
