This is utterly stupid. It's not helping anyone, only hurting others. Timed DLC doesn't even affect the 360 owners, it just punishes everyone else. It's pointless, nobody "wins".

Actually, timed exclusive stuff affects me very nicely. I'll be ripping and rocking hardcore way before and PS3 only owner on COD for the new maps. And I'll have plenty of "wins" on those new maps before any of them. :p

You'll be paying 15 bucks for 3-4 new maps that doesn't even give you achievements or story related content. I wouldn't call that a win.

Eh it sounded like the game was going to have a pretty compelling single player campaign and it interested me...but now it has fallen off my radar and i could care less about it. It's a real shame

You should still give the game a chance. As I stated in my first post, it doesn't even affect the game itself if you don't buy it, especially if you buy it for a PS3. Imagine your most anticipated multiplatform game right now. Now imagine if Microsoft announced timed-exclusive DLC for that game. You wouldn't really just forget about it, would you? There's nothing wrong with not having interest in an upcoming game, but let's not bash the developers at Kaos without knowing as much as we could about the game.

I have way too many games to buy this year and a whole bunch I haven't finished from last year. My time and money is limited and I've been looking for every chance NOT to buy some of the games previously on my radar.

So ANY developer doing this is likely to loose a sale here.

I'm commenting anyway, but this game doesn't look very good. They're actually trying to sell "battle points" as a positive thing. We've had currency in FPS games for a long time now. :\

Also it's THQ, so this game will be VERY cheap VERY fast. RFG is proof of that (good game) but wait a few weeks and every retailer on the web can't wait to clear their stock.

That's the thing they're selling. It could be horribly unbalanced and I won't buy Homefront until it's about 20 bucks cheaper at the least but it's a unique attempt at an FPS

Thats why it's best to own both consoles. You can get the games where DLC comes first on one console (thats if you know DLC will be timed exclusive before release) and the same with the other.

Lol hey it's thq's loss not mine. I just cancelled my pre order of the ps3 version at amazon when i heard this news. This is console fascism and i don't like to be treated as a 2nd class customer. Most ps3 gamers should cancel too and when the game doesn't sell on ps3 they will only have themselves to blame.

Ha what a cancer dlc is to gaming...so sad. And it's all thanks to gamestop, another cancer to gaming.

We'll be playing killzone 3 anyway so 360 can take its exclusive map pack and shove it. We have an exclusive AAA game.

RBLAZE, you cancelled a game because of timed DLC, does this upset you that bad? You may want to go outside, get some fresh air and some sunlight, your taking gaming a little too serious. These consoles have been out what 4 to 5 yrs. now, everyone on here should have both PS3 and 360 by now, why would you wanna miss out on great games from both companies, put your fanboyism away, it's for poor folks and kids that can't afford both systems, and be a GAMER.

Dude i had a 360 but sold it cause i don't want to be forced to pay for playing online. A feature i already payed for. Maybe i'm going to college and just got layed off cause the company i worked for moved out of state and can't afford to be buying all the consoles. Get over yourselves just cause you guys have both consoles doesn't mean everyone has to. How the hell do you guys have time to go outside with all those console you own and play all the time. This Is a multiplatform game and should be treated as that. No exclusive dlc or timed exclusive maps that's bullshit and you know it. You're both sheep you tell me to get all consoles the hardware companies must love you. Thq sees you coming a mile away and they're holding lube...have fun.

Even if i gamed on 360 i still wouldn't buy this because i don't support these kinds of tactics. They don't really help one side of gamers and hurt the other side that pay the same amount for the game. Don't go around dictating how i should enjoy my hobby worry about yourselves.

Oh yea and about the poor comment. Well i guess when ya got money who needs principals right. Hey since you're so rich why don't you get me an xbox 360. The 250 gig one not the cheap 4 gig

if you don't want to pay for xbl that's fine but why sell the 360? it's not like a silver membership bricks your console and when you run into some extra penny's you can get a month or two of live. I think the only reason you sold the 360 was for rent/food money.

lol at overreaction...it's not like they're not giving you the DLC at all. It'll probably be a month at most ahead of PS3 and PC and you're gonna cancel a game over it.

As much as I don't like the trend that DLC is going, the community of gaming is pretty pathetic at this point

I'm speaking with my wallet and it's not really an overreaction i was mildly interested in this game but sadly thq wanted to pull this crap so it tipped the scale over to no interest in this game and i'm fine with that now. It's not directed solely at you and everyone is entitled to their opinion but directed at the general internet over everything including DA2 DLC, COD DLC, etc.

It doesn't fundamentally change the game in any way. Does it stink? Sure, but 360 having exclusive or early DLC over PS3 and PC doesn't change the experience and how fun the game is or isn't on PC or PS3

I just think it's a bit foolish to cancel preorders on something like this. If you legitimately don't like the game or it's gameplay, then I've got no issue with that. It was just a commentary, not an attack on what you want to do

I was going to get it on xbox anyways but really M$. Stop getting timed exclusive stuff it aint doing any good since it will still be on all versions. The xbox needs games(not kinect games) I mean real games, the games that most of the people that bought your console got it for.

It certainly wasn't improbable but i thought that a smaller company wouldn't resort to this seeing as they would want the most amount of people to purchase they're product. This is the precident that activision, bethesda and microsoft has set and don't be surprised to see more games do this in the future. It's too bad people don't realize they are buying purposely unfinished games to later pay extra for that content...:/

i dont see why not, microsoft pays them about £50 million to have it on xbox for a month. They sell the dlc to all the xbox people. I month later they release it on ps3 and get even more profit so in the end they get £50 million plus the amount both consoles get. ITS GENIUS. In the end the small company wins

pretty sad when the bulk of a consoles future exclusives consists basically of 2-3 full retail games and some timed DLC. MS is just bad for gaming in General. I wish Sega would get back into the console business and that MS would stay in just the PC market.

With no SDK confirmed for the PC version of Homefront, this is kinda lame news. I've been following Homefront for a few years now and always thought it had the potential to offer something pretty above average for a multi plat shooter.

A good portion of the guys at Kaos also worked on Desert Combat, a mod for Battlefield 1942. Something many people loved, and if Battlefield 2 had never been released could potentially still be much more popular then it is today.

Don't count this game out entirely, FEAR3 and Crysis 2 are the only other shooters you have to choose over Homefront in March. If you aren't still busy with Killzone 3, of course.

The PC build of Homefront looked pretty good and I was interested, but then they showed the Xbox build, and it looked pretty lame. So if they are using the Xbox for the lead development, then it probably won't even be worth buying on the PS3 anyway. Timed dlc exclusives, who cares I'll be too busy playing KZ3 to notice.

Amen Brother!! But, but, but the 360 is selling like hotcakes and I only have a PS3, what will I do, the 360 beats the PS3 again, I can't take it. Who the F cares, own both systems, one goes underwater or folds up, guess what you have the other one. These companies are both out to screw you over and make the most money they can from ya, they don't give a F about you. It's called running a business and managing money, apparently the guys with just 1 system wouldn't understand it from that standpoint. And I will get it on the PS3, I have patience, and can wait, unlike half this kids nowadays, with adhd, I call it the ritalin era.
