whats wrong with another option. its not like its the WHOLE GAME like this. How the F is this bad? Its great. More people will like the demo , more sells, more DLC, etc.

I like the idea. I'm not an expert in fighting games, so this mode will be quite useful. But it is an option, you can play the normal way if you want, so i don't see any reason to argue.

Don't mean to sound like a gaming snob or offend anyone but do people still play easy modes in games? Normal mode for me all the way. I don't see the point limping through easy mode. What's the point?

tl;dr, it's just an option, not an obligation. If you don't like it, then just make another choice

If CAPCOM don't include all characters in this game rather than having to buy a premium version, they don't deserve good sales, SIMPLE mode... huh, simple marketing sense.

*sigh* The only thing is, I'm only decent at fighting games and my friends suck (no offense, they also refuse to learn the mechanics from me) and they'll probably kick my ass when they learn this game has that option :(

Simple mode beats the game's own purpose. It is ridiculous.

Good for the noobs, bad for the skilled. Unless the game offers online filters like Blazblue...

On the other hand in KOF XIII you'll be forced to skilled with real frustration and pain...

I wouldn't think it would matter too much to people who are good at the game, they have superior timing, spacing and tactics, it shouldn't take too long to work out somthing which can easily beat people playing on simple mode.

They have to be handicapped in some way or another.

What people fail to understand sometimes is it takes a lot of PR to push a game into a new crowd of gamers. So in this case the Ripten.com team went against Capcom using simple mode and "pwn'd" them up. Truth of the matter is the Capcom team most likely hold back to promote the game as user friendly to new comers using simple mode. Imagine new gamers on the fence reading "Simple mode not enough to put up a fight" might as well say good bye to those would'be consumers. I have read a few things about this simple mode and apparently there are some drawbacks for those looking to play at a high level, the combos that can be performed while in simple mode can be shiny and all but will lack the ability to go for full potential damage as the combos seem to already be pre-programmed into the system. So from my understanding a combo leading into a super will not be able to be cancelled into another super while in simple mode, but this will almost be a must in high level play as that extra super can mean the difference between leaving your opponent with a little health or finishing him off. In the end I believe it will be balanced out to a point where skill will be plateaued on simple mode, while the normal setting will be where the top end players will shine with the ability to customize their combos for max damage.

I'm assuming then normal mode is really normal this time, with exact inputs, not dumbed down like SSF4. If so, that's a huge win for everybody.

don't you freaks know that Capcom are the Godfathefs of competitive fighting games? They won't jack this up.

This is nothing new. They've had this mode since Marvel VS Capcom 1 at the Arcades atleast, never really played the console version.

Why are you guys acting as if it's a brand new never seen before mode ?

Plenty fighting games already had that under various names . Like more recently Blazblue .

worthless mode is worthless... simple mode won't help nubs beat veterans. period. It won't even help them beat semi-decent players. all it does is give the non-fighter players a chance to do cool stuff without having to know the mechanics in depth. Cosmetics, people. It's not for competition, no matter how u look at it. it's too limiting to do anything with. That said, I don't know what the argument is here.
