yep just ok, nothing special about it at all, and if they dont add move support i shall skip it like tenth grade civics class

@ilikestuff

lol,you have just missed the news then as EA have stated FN wont support kinnect or move YET!

CovertGunman5618d ago

Not bad, though I'm not a fan of boxing games.

BigKev455618d ago

This is the 1st Fight Night that I will be skipping.

NYC_Gamer5618d ago

me too,it has no real improvements over the many issues of round 4...just some added cheap champion mode.

davekaos5618d ago (Edited 5618d ago )

are you kidding? FNR4 was brilliant, there were issues at first with the online component where noob players would spam with body shots and not loose any stamina but that was soon sorted out. single player i though was excellect and the new total punch control was awesome.

sure this one has the story mode where there are corrupt promoters and gangsters involved even a prison sentence. Infact wait a second didnt mr tyson get sent down? also im pretty sure don king is the most corrupt mofo in sports history,

IMO this FN has got it perfect and from what i can make of it you choose your own path and its not all scripted

EDIT

forgot to mention gangsters, gangsters have been involved with all major sports and as a proven point those who like football(soccer if your US) should remember the incident in couple of years back where i think it was 3 italian clubs Lazio being the main club were fined massive amounts and were also relegated to a lower division because gangsters had worked their way into the club and were fixing games.

seems like FN are just including what happens in real life if tou ask me

I've bought every fight night game on release but I'm skipping this one too, I may pick it up cheap later in the year.
Not happy about the cliched story mode. I don't understand the idea behind introducing a story mode to a sport sim, I hope it's not a success otherwise we will be seeing it introduced to FIFA and Tiger Woods next.

RyuDrinksTheDew5618d ago (Edited 5618d ago )

definitely going to buy this, but i think the whole story mode thing is hilarious.

on topic: pretty mediocre box art, but hey, its a boxing game.

edit: i will say this though, the bare knuckle prison fighting might be awesome.

Fight Night Round 5: We Want A New Fight Night Game

It’s been almost a decade since the critically acclaimed Fight Night Champion, the final title in a series of beloved boxing video games from Electronic Arts. Since 2011, the studio has been focused on its mixed martial arts title, UFC, instead. But with the rise of the popularity of boxing again, thanks to fighters like Floyd Mayweather and Tyson Fury, could we possibly have another Fight Night game on the way?

I honestly cannot state enough just how much i want a new fight night!!!

Boxing is one of my fav sports to watch and it has been way to long since iv had a game to enjoy.

Undisputed looks like a ps3 game, cmon EA, stuff UFC, give the people what we really want which is a boxing game!!!

cnote001205d ago

I agree we need another fight night, however undisputed, I’d have to part ways with that ps3 claim.

IT'SSSSSSSS FIIIIIIGHT NIIIIIIGHT!!!!
I hope they make it like round four instead of champions but ill take any fight night at this point

Dabigsiebowski1205d ago

They need to go back to the good roots of FN R2 and FN R3. Everything after watered down the formula too much and enabled gimmicks. FNR2&3 are some of the greatest fighting games ever.

Kurt Russell1204d ago

3 was fun and you could smash out so many haymakers. But I found 4 more technical and enjoyed it for that too.

navi871204d ago

At least in 3 you had to wind up your shots, it was more skill based as opposed to 4 where you just held down L1 or R1 whilst flicking the analogue stick.

navi871204d ago

Agreed, i played FNR 3 the most on Xbox 360 back in the day and using the analogue sticks to kinda mimic punches thrown was fun af. FNR 4 ruined it by just flicking the analogue stick to throw hooks, felt really unintuitive after the previous games.

They'd ruin it like they do everything these days

10 Best Forgotten Sports Game Franchises That Should Come Back

From Xfire: "Sports games are the average Joe's best chance at getting to play under the big bright lights with thousands of people in the stands watching their every move. It doesn't matter if you're a hoops junkie or a baseball fan, sports video games let you live out your hopes and dreams."
