I see no reason for White Knight Chronicles 2 not to release next year they are already doing localization for the US. Twisted Metal will also be out this year. The Last Guardian will most likely be released during the holidays.

Agreed Urmomlol. I am not certain why people are trying to counter our sweet gaming line up by predicting what will or won't come out. Ever since we found out about the amount of games we will be getting, haters keep trying to predict that most if not all will be delayed until 2012. Why don't we wait and see instead of putting your feet in your mouths as per usual. BTW I am actually hoping for a few monthly delays. If the games are more spaced out in 2011, it gives us a chance to buy more of them. In the first three months I alrady have to choose between LBP2, ME2. MS:A, Sorcery, Socom, KZ3 and Slamblot Scrappers. Already too many.

White knight 2, twisted metal, and Ratchet all for 1 will be released this year. The rest prolly not. But wth is up with mentioning a game that hasn't been announced or teased and has no reason to believe is in development?

I agree that most games of that list are going to be delayed. A lot of PS3 exclusive games have been delayed this generation, so no surprise here. I'd actually be surprised if most of those games were released on 2011.

the problem is most of the doubters it seem want to concentrate on what's not or it may come out instead of playing what is out already.

Fuckin pessimists. A handful of those games were never even confirmed for a 2011 release, or even confirmed to exist, i.e Starhawk, Syphon Filter 5, FFXIIIVs, Agent. I have no idea why they would say Twisted Metal and All For One would be delayed though. Why do people always look for something to fall short of expectations? And could someone give me a viable reason why so many people have been saying Last Guardian will be delayed, other than the fact that they think it will be delayed?

The Tales game is just wishful thinking. Namco keeps on saying "No Plans" while they know that Tales usually sells well on consoles. Putting them on handhelds and the Wii screwed them.

Other games on that list could come out on time. The site is just going by what they heard. One game didn't even get announced yet so they should just keep it off the list.

Edit: The no plans part was for Namco bringing the Tales games to America. Japan will still get it tho. I'm going to have to learn Japanese and import it to play it :(

Twisted Metal development sounds like it's going well and Insomniac seems like they want to hit holiday with Ratchet and Clank All 4 One. Missing that window could be "bad for business" , no? Their 2nd studio is handling this spinoff game.

Sony have far too many exclusives releasing in 2011. From a business point it''s not good but for us Consumers its a good thing. Sony business model is to announce every exclusives and give a non concrete date. Majority of the exclusives will be pushed into 2012 don't know why Sony won't just give us a 2012 date. If anyone remembers when the ps3 was launched Sony promised a ton of exclusives for that year and we really didn't see them till 2-3 years later.

Versus wasn't supposed to be released this year (or at least the last bit of news on the possible release date we got said that SE don't expect it out before 2012).

Twisted Metal? F*ck that. Eat Sleep Play and Sony Santa Monica are both working on that game together. The game has already been in development for about 2 years now and is looking pretty damn good.

I believe a new Syphon Filter will be release for the PSP2!! I don't think its coming out for the PS3

TLG is definitely coming in 2011 (December) because they will release ICO/SOTC collection 6 months or so before to get gamers excited about TLG. Similar to the way GOW Collection was marketed to get gamers ready for GOW III.

Agent is coming in 2012.

Sony already has too many confirmed games to release anymore in 2011. They are already releasing multiple exclusives in the same months.

I pretty much agree on delaying some PS3 exclusives because Sony is release all these great titles so close to each others.
They need to spread them out.

Would be nice if Tales of Xillia gets released in North America ...but it probably won't happen since Namco Bandai will be too busy releasing crappy Dragon Ball Z games that are the exact same as every other one that comes out.

At this point no one really wants a follow up to White Knight Chronicles here in the US. The first one was so poor that it has left a very sour taste in alot of peoples mouths. The Final Fantasy game I myself feel is a joke and will have nothing to do with. I still feel Square-Enix should pay me back for having to buy XIII and that collectors strategy guide. Biggest poor RPG game I've played in many years.

It will be beyond sad if a lot of the JRPGS don't come to US/EU in 2011. White Knight Chronicles 2, I'm looking at you!

i don't really think the reasons given were strong enough to deny a 2011 release.

just because we just learned about R&C and Twisted Metal last year doesn't mean that they just began development last year.

as for The Last Guardian, it was announced, what, 2 years ago? i'm pretty sure Fumito Ueda and Team Ico are nearing completion. he's been working on this game for a long time, as Shadow of the Colossus came out in 2005. i can imagine they probably began pre-production of TLG after wrapping up Shadow (concept some preliminary sketches), and began production of the game sometime in 2006, after getting PS3 dev kits.

5 year dev cycle sounds about right for an Ueda game.

not everybody likes the same type of games, so i can see The Last Guardian releasing in October, or December.

i don't see it releasing in crowded November, but last December was practically void of any worthwhile games.

the summer months are looking sparse as well, which drives me crazy. i often have my most money to blow during the summer months (usually because there's not much to spend it on), and there are hardly any games released during that time period.

the start of this year is a prime example of what's wrong with the thinking in the gaming industry. they've crowded so many games into the January, February, March, and April months that i will, literally, be only able to get one or two of them (Little Big Planet 2 and Dragon Age 2 for the wife, if you're curious). the rest: Dead Space 2, Mass Effect 2, Killzone 3, DC Universe Online, Two Worlds 2, Dungeon Siege 3, LEGO Star Wars 3, Yakuza 4, Portal 2, will not be bought, unfortunately. they ALL come out within the first 4 months of the year.

if you look at May, June, July, and August, they are rather starved for games. then the glut of games picks up again in September on through November.

4 months are practically devoid of games during the middle of the year. i usually try to catch up on games i missed, but by that point, i'm too busy trying to save up for the upcoming games for the fall/winter season (ie, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Batman: Arkham City, and Elder Scrolls V, which are must buys for me).

it'd be nice to have more games released in the summer is all. it worked for MGS4, even inFAMOUS and Prototype, so i don't see why it couldn't work for other games (like Twisted Metal).

The last guardian, ratchet and twisted metal will release this year.. Heck if they even get a delay it must be with a reason, i am all up for delays if it helps the game getting better.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
