When going for total completion in games isn't crazy

The holidays have allowed Bitmob's Omri Petitte to achieve the impossible: attaining 100 percent completion in Red Dead Redemption. What kind of game is better suited to reach that supreme goal of total victory?

I was really into getting all the collectables in the N64 Banjo Kazooie game. I don't know if I should be proud of this or not.

There are too many games for me to try an over turn every rock and leaf. But I appreciate the effort some devs make.

I never even finished RDR

TANUKI5655d ago

Sadly, RDR is one of the many games I haven't 100% completed either.

I just don't have the patience anymore. That, or I get sidetracked by something else.

You would surpiced how easy it is and dose take along time was still very fun.

Now GTA SA is where aw tgh put time effort in.

CrazyOrange5655d ago

bah, I beated the game because I wanted to move on.

what a boring experience.

Chug5655d ago

I couldn't wait for it to be over either. It was kinda fun at first but it got stale quick.

I platinumed Assassin's Creed II. The game was amazing but like hell, I was going to go feather hunting. I used the internet and tracked them down within an hour or two. Everything else I got on my own. There's a limit to my hunting for those collectable trophies. Far Cry 2, I just said to hell with getting all those diamonds.

I got 100% completion on Redemption and Undead Nightmare. Reached last legendary (the games online COD Prestige mode if you will) mode as well. Yes, I loved the game that much.

All I need for the Platinum is to brawl people on bars across Mexico. Too lazy to do that. Oh and I forgot the $5000 bounty Pardon Letter.

It actually isn't that hard to get 100% in RDR. Like 100% in GTA games require a lot more work (never did a 100% in a GTA). I was just a little off getting 100% in RDR but I saved that till then next time I replay it.

More like people don't play these type of games on their phone normally and don't try them out. Not like the places where people do play these games haven't crushed those numbers easily.

How many people actually played more than an hour of the game or came close to finishing it on mobile is the real question. If people aren't playing the games to a point that is purposeful, then why try when a subscription that is behind a streaming service isn't a sign of success but just curiosity.

What if Netflix becomes ‘the Netflix of gaming?!’

Alek83162d ago

I downloaded it because I already have a Netflix sub.
I am not going to buy it for $40 or whatever it costs on Google Play.

I tried it out and will be sticking to the PC version, but it's not bad.

Having said that, this is the issues I see vs the PC version:
1. Greatly reduced texture resolution.
2. Massive downgrade ALL lighting quality (this includes water, shadows, etc).
3. Stutter and heat. Prolonged play leads to both.
On the plus side, we have:
4. This thing is like 6GB vs the 12 on Steam.

Great way to try the game, but not the best way to play it.

Perhaps Netflix will make a RDR series now that ST is done with.

Lionsguard163d ago

A Netflix version of RDR?... Oh boy... I can't wait... /s

TheColbertinator163d ago

They should build a production that includes members behind the True Grit remake and Hell on Wheels from AMC. Both were perfect for wild west vibes.

but i doubt people ACTUALLY played it on smartphone vs tried it out.

Another free update...good to know but I don't own a series X

Petebloodyonion196d ago

I’m not sure what the exact issue is. I had no trouble getting the free update—you basically get the new game for free if you have the 360 version in your digital library. Maybe the problem is related to owning or not owning the Undead DLC expansion.

Hypertension140196d ago (Edited 196d ago )

Yea I think thats what it is. I also own the game but not the expansion, and im unable to download the update.
