Oh thats nice

You know what would be nicer, actually putting Spyro up on the PSN store in Europe, with the other dozen great games that we havent got yet.

Convas5627d ago (Edited 5627d ago )

You know what would be nicer still?

The Spyro Collection

All three PS One Spyros in HD, with Trophy Support.

And Hell, Sony, while you're at it, The Crash Bandicoot Collection, with Crash 1-3 + Crash Team Racing in HD + Trophies, would also be magnificent.

But I know you're already thinking of these things, and we'll hear about them next year. Right? Right. I hope so.

lociefer5627d ago

i hope its year of the dragon

Nitrowolf25627d ago

I Bet they could fit every single one of those game on 1 Disc. Why not release a PS1 Classic Collection with all the biggest PS1 titles. That would be awesome,

TheLastGuardian5627d ago

Dangit, I already bought this game on PSN.

Ocelot5255627d ago (Edited 5627d ago )

played it some months ago in HD thanks to the ePSXe emulator(and with a PS3 controller thanks to the motionjoy driver)

i won't pay for 10 year old games who aren't remastered( I own the game on disc btw)

SOny should really improve the emulator on the PS3 for PS1 games(native HD, AA, AF, ...). I don't like playing games 320*200 resolution(this is the native resolution of most PS1 era games, the PS1 upscaled it to 480i and 576i(= PAL) for TV compatibility)

OneSneakyMofo5627d ago

I think I've received over $400 of 'free' stuff with PS+. The same can't be said for the other consoles.

Kevin ButIer5626d ago

This game is awesome, really good news, back to my childhood folks brb

but if you don't subscribe again for ps plus you can't play the game anymore fact.

christheredhead5627d ago

thats true but are you really going to be playing spyro for 1 year straight non stop? it seems unlikely. the minimum subscription is 3 months. thats plenty of time to fully play and beat spyro multiple times if you wanted. you would probably stop playing it well before the sub expired anyways. if you resubscribe or buy the game you can play it an unlimited amount of times..fact.

vickers5005627d ago (Edited 5627d ago )

@christheredhead

Not everyone focuses on one game and plays it all the way through, there are other games out there that people feel like playing at different times and different moods.

I know I constantly go back to old games that I thought I would never play again and have fun with them (BF1943, PixelJunkGames, RagDollKungFu, fl0wer, fl0w, Savage Moon, etc.), and I would hate it if I had to go back and pay 20-50 bucks just to play those games again because I was feeling nostalgic.

It's a legitimate complaint. They should at least let you keep 2-3 PSN games of your choosing (of the ones that they give you of course), seeing as how you are paying quite a large fee for something that, if you take the free games/addons away, isn't worth the 50$ a year (exclusive betas, themes and avatars are cool and all, but they aren't worth 50 bucks a year) so they should let you keep at least 2-3 games after your subscription has ended in my opinion.

christheredhead5627d ago

@vickers500

i am one of those gamers. i keep all my games i buy so i can go back and play them at later dates or when i get that urge to revisit certain titles. its just that you constantly see people complaining that you dont get to keep the games from the service. its definitely a legitimate complaint but a tired one as of now. of course people want to keep the games but if they allowed you to keep 2 or 3 titles people would sign up, acquire the games and sign back up when new games were available making the service itself pointless. theres no denying that ps+ is intended to get you to buy more. people will play certain games and end up buying them cause they dont want to renew their subscription. for gamers such as yourself you would be better off just buying the games you want flat out. i would do the same if my sub ended and i wanted to keep a game.

ocnkng5627d ago

Will they actually do that? Doesn't hurt.

Pedantic915627d ago

Damn, almost forgot i actually own all 3 Spyro games !

guess i'll go and replay em' and occupy myself til some of the PS3 games comes out next year.

redwolf5627d ago

ahh that is nice, roll back the years on the playstation

Looks like PlayStation took a hit with Marathon and is now quietly adjusting prices worldwide to recover the losses

andy8529d ago

Lets be honest raising prices doesn't do that when no one's buying it. I imagine the profit it greater selling 10 times more at a lower price

Pergele29d ago

Whatever you say buddy, let's all wear the tinfoil hats.

IceKoldKilla29d ago (Edited 29d ago )

LMFAO Your comment alone says a lot more about you than anything else. When has one game not selling 10 million copies made a company raise the prices of their console? Then Xbox would be costing $5000 by now lol. You remind of the crazy drug addicts on the street rambling on about conspiracies. xD You sure you don't need a hug, buddy?

ChunkyMonk29d ago

One game that Sony payed $200 million for. lol
Also, you sure were quick to get triggered. Maybe your the one who needs a hug?

Eonjay29d ago

If nothing else, we should be united against the real issue here. AI and unnecessary tariffs that are effecting all gamers.

The price increases are due to the RAM demand associated with AI and the US-Iran war. You can look to any business news website and local news to see that. Heck, even the 2026 Asus Zenbook Duo I've been eyeing has faced delays and has had a price increase of $400; that laptop has two specs. Asus is doing a staggered release with per-orders for the lower spec now and shipping in May and pre-orders for the higher spec that I'm eyeing starting in June. Basically, all computer manufactures are affected. It'll most likely start affecting smart phones too if it hasn't already. I can't remember the last time any major console maker (Nintendo, Sony, Sega, etc) increased the price of their console mid cycle outside of Microsoft just to make more profit.

S2Killinit29d ago

Its not the war. Its the RAM issue.

jznrpg29d ago

War is causing gas prices to rise. Transport of everything requires gas so the prices of those items go up as well. So it does have an impact

Athlon10129d ago (Edited 29d ago )

The blockage of the Straight of Hormuz due to the US-Iran war has affected raw components used in semi-conductor manufacturing such as bromine, aluminum, and helium. Iran had attacked the liquified natural gas (LNG) plant in Qatar which is a large producer (1/3 globally) of helium which is used in semiconductor etching. So it's the both the war and the RAM crises.

badz14929d ago

Oh no...should I get the Pro now before the price increase?

I dont think that'll ever happen. But i must say back in the day, they were definitely trying because they were more cash rich than their competitors.

CosmicTurtle42d ago

I think MS were and still are the richer company. They tried to acquire Sega back in the day (and considered doing so again more recently), they obviously bought exclusivity to Halo which was originally shown as a Mac title. I don’t think as a company MS can claim the moral high ground here. It’s a wilful lack of self awareness.

Of course Sony would try exactly the same if they had the resources, but when the PS2 dominated the industry was in a much healthier place with an abundance of great third parties.

This has been a depressing generation as far as first party decisions are concerned. The fact we are debating business plans rather than which game is better is a sad reflection of the state of things.

Darkseeker43d ago (Edited 43d ago )

There was Nintendo as well, Sony wouldn't have had a monopoly. In fact, the world would be better today if Xbox never existed in the first place. They pretty much brought all bad practices we have today. We might have gotten all of it either way, but not this early. In term of franchises, I don't think there is anything Microsoft released that would actually be missed if it didn't exist. Even Halo the world wouldn't notice if Halo didn't exist.

S2Killinit42d ago

MS was definitely a bad influence on gaming.

raWfodog43d ago

I think almost everyone will agree that a monopoly is not good for the industry. But that being said, the competition needs to be smart and strategic with their business. Simply buying up publishers and traditional third-party studios just to keep them out of the other companies reach is not a sustainable practice. That goes for all parties so don't think I'm just referring to Xbox.

I'm no business guru by any stretch of the imagination but I firmly believe that the best way to drive consumers to your software and hardware is to invest smart in your first-party studios. Give them full support and guidance in making unique, fun games that are only available to play in your ecosystem and the gamers will come.

Reaper22_42d ago (Edited 42d ago )

But first party studios aren't enough. They only make up a small portion of the industry. Without 3rd party there would be no industry for Microsoft or sony.Developing games take time and money and sometimes you gotta make moves to stay competitive.

raWfodog42d ago

Nah, I never said first-party was enough. I said it’s the ‘best way’ to drive gamers to your platform. 3rd-party is a free-for-all and there’s no guarantee that gamers will use your hardware to play the game. If you want to push your own software and/or hardware you need first-party, or at least exclusive deals with third-party studios.

SimpleDad43d ago

They Shure did a great job... 25 years later Xbox is dead.

Reaper22_42d ago

Then why be so emotional and continue to talk about it. Xbox will never die be ause it stays in so many people's head.

lodossrage42d ago

How can you even see him being "emotional" in that comment?

If anything, you're the emotional one, constantly trying to go at anyone that says anything against Microsoft. So when you call him emotional, it comes off as deflection

Elda42d ago

I own an XBSX & I can say it's becoming irrelevant out of the 3 current consoles.
