I'm going to be 18 in 10 days and I think this is one hell of a good idéa. Something to do when your games run out (or in my case, don't have money to buy all the games out there ;D)

I have a buddy who plays online poker and he has a team of 3-4 ppl that he talks to on the phone. They all sit down at one table and rape the poor souls who want to just play for fun.

Thats a big reason why i would never play poker for money online. You dont know what is going on at your table.

Promises that we havent seen yet. I have a hard time believing a lot of this when the current Beta is complete crap. I have wasted my time with this game. In fact, the Beta Forum boards are pretty much completely dormant now. Most of th new posts actually only consists of people complaining about the lack of things to do in Home right now. All I can say is that if the service is suppose to come out next month(and there is no update between now and then)Home will pretty much be expected to not work, crash, and have a lack of content that will continue to block its tremendous possibilities. Everyone knows now that Home hasn't lived up to the GDC 06 conference and the E3 07 conference(due to some leaks to IGN and other editorial websites). Honestly, I hold out hope this service will work out, I hope everything works out.

I guess just off the top of my head one way they might be able to regulate it is accounts with credit cards registered to them, that would show if someone is 18+, and if kids have parents cards on their account saved then the parents should supervise it and take it off and only use it when purchasing things

How do you prevent kiddies pretending to be over 18. They may be young but a good proportion are clever enough to circumnavigate most age restrictions by using the identity (credit card, national insurance details etc) of someone over 18 or faking their own.

I do not think it can be done.

It's the possibility of 18+ porn HOMES that concerns me. I'm a grown man so if Home turned into pornoville it might finally give me a reason to spend over half a grand on a game system, lol. But as a parent I wouldn't want my kid virtually walking into the VIVID house, gambling or watching porn trailers. As far as computer savvy minors are concerned, 18+ rooms no matter what the content is a very bad idea.

but gamble for PSN points instead of money would be a great idea. $5 buys you 500 points (a penny a point). gamble earn more points cash out then use said points to buy games on the PSN. 4000 points, warhawk
3000 points Tekken DR:online bundle and so on. But of course for this to work they would have to have games where the player plays against the house (blackjack, Roulette, Slots) to prevent people from gambling their points/money against other people.

But an 18+ room sounds very cool indeed.
