Including DLC ratings for the 360 scores is kinda ridiculous, and counting ME2 and SC as exclusives is a bit sketchy... although I suppose you could say that the article is "best of 2010", as if 2010 was ripped from spacetime and had to exist all by itself, and thus, ME2 and SC are exclusives in that place.

I also still find it laughable that Halo is considered a better FPS than MAG. What a narrow-minded world some gamers play in.

I remember when that Mass Effect 2 video came out comparing the 360 and PS3 version and everyone was cheering and touting IGN because the PS3 version looked better.

Although I will admit that 360 had a better year than Ps3 (halo, Splinter cell, Alan wake, fable, ect.) I won't take ign's word for it. They gave kingdom hearts 2 a 7.

Although the 360 doesn't have blue-ray, the other night I wanted to watch an old PAL formatted DVD of a movie (We're No Angles with Humphrey Bogart) that can't be found for less than around $100 these days. PS3 said PAL wasn't supported. Good old 360 played it without issue.

doesn't agree with all the PS3 fanboys on N4G they don't have reliable reviews and like the Xbox 360 more. It is really hilarious how all these fanboys come together and agree with each other to try and change the fact that Xbox 360 was the best in 2010. PS3 was the best in 2009, but they had a weak year this go around. Deal with it fanboys.

I don't even know why any of you are trying to defend the PS3 whenever it blatantly had no great exclusives in the entire second half of 2010. It doesn't matter anyway because that is all the past and 2011 looks absolutely incredible for the PS3 so get over it.

It was a great year for 360 gamers :)

PlayStation 3 or bust. It has the best features, and the best games.

The 360 with crackdown 2, splinter cell conviction, and halo reach gave me the most entertainment this year as well as the wii with donkey kong returns, goldeneye, and super mario galaxy 2 was awesome. As for the ps3, god of war 3 was fun the first time I played it then it got boring fast, and thats about it for the ps3. Maybe next year developers for the ps3 will make games that are actually fun to play and not just good graphics.

Well, IGN can say whatever they want to say. I played my PS3 and 360 pretty much equally this year. My Wii also got a workout.

Mass Effect 2 was great back in January, and I enjoyed that. I also enjoyed Crackdown 2, but I was clearly in the minority. I picked up Red Dead Redemption on the 360 as well. On my PS3 I played Heavy Rain, 3D Dot Game Heroes and Gran Turismo 5. The Wii had Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Donkey Kong Country returns.

Many of the games I bought this year were carry-over from 2009, and I bought several on both 360 and PS3. Overall it's been a good year for me.

Yea the ps3s lineup this year was not as good as lasts years but 2011 is set to blow it away. A i think IGNs method of choosing the best console lineup is retarded.

... there just weren’t all that many exclusive AAA games on any of the consoles, and when I say AAA, I exclude things like Mod Nation and Alan Wake because (in my very unprofessional opinion) they aren’t absolutely amazing games. 2011, however, is very different. The 360 and Wii have very few announced huge games, but the PS3’s list is re-donk-a-donk. There’s no way the PS3 will lose next year, and everyone knows it.

The year went as follows:

1st - Wii
2nd - PS3
3rd - 360

Plain as day, and I hate the Wii. It's the only console of the 3 that I do not own, granted I don't have many 360 games... but really, there aren't many worth buying.

Castle crashers scores an 8.5 on the PS3 and a 9.0 on the 360.. yet there's very little difference in the games other than when they were released. Go figure. PSN/XBLA/wiiware shouldn't be 'fair game' they review those games relative to their cost, they should be in a separate comparison. I mean they put Alien breed 2 into the 8.0 category, and left the PS3 out because they never reviewed the PS3 version. It's painfully apparent to me they simply review more xbla games and they miss quite a few PSN games.

There's obvious 360 bias apparent, look at SC:Conviction and Alan Wake both getting into the 9.0 category, that wasn't something we saw from the rest of the gaming media.

As much as I love the PS3 and think it was better than the 360 this year, I absolutely love this result to get a good laugh at all the crying fanboys that will show up around here.

if i only owned a ps3 i would agree but ps3 didn't have f*ck all this year besides GoW3 and a half-ass GT5 game that took 5 years to make and didn't deliver. How can you comapare it too ME2,SCConviction and Halo Reach. ME2 alone destroys all of sony's best this year.

Seems like a ridiculous article seeing as how they try to quantify everything in numbers. For example, under diversity, they give the 360 as many points for shooters as they do the PS3 for adventure games. Both consoles have a ton of shooters. Only the PS3 had many adventure games. PS3 shooters count for nothing in this case. The 360 had nothing when it comes to adventure, but the PS3 had a sizable number of shooters, but they each get a point. So even if points are being awarded purely for diversity, it's still all or nothing. A system that is dominant in the most categories and completely lacking in others can still beat out a system with a balanced line-up across all genres.

On top of that, some categories are far more popular than others, so to give out a point for something like adventure and only one point for shooters which is far bigger doesn't make much sense. I'm not trying to say PS3 or Wii should have won, I'm just saying the way in which they go about determining a winner is awfully flawed.

If it was purely opinion, that's fine. An opinion is an opinion. But trying to determine which console is best by breaking every game released in 2010 down into categories and dishing out points doesn't make a lot of sense, especially when many of those genre wins are determined by one exclusive game while others are ignored just because they weren't in the top three.

Next year the PS3 should win hands down.

The PS3 Exclusives will never outdo 360 Exclusives on sites like IGN because the PS3 raised the bar with games like UC2 and GOW3, so when the PS3's Exclusives dont reach such staggering heights they get average scores. There is such high expectations on every PS3 Exclusive that is nearly impossible to live up to. If the likes of IGN rated these games on their own, forgetting its an Exclusive, they would do a hell of a lot better.
There never seems to be such pressure on 360 Exclusives.

Reach I Hated too overhyped FPS, but hey its for the Halo Fans so I give it credit it was the best Halo to come out , Alan Wake honeslty that was a brilliant game and IMO it was the best xbox game... the rest are on PC and theyare the better versions.

Honestly, I've come to, for lack of a better word, ignore IGN. I enjoy the site and all of it's features, but the bias towards Sony does get annoying. I don't hate on them though, because I see PS3 hate all over the internet.

IGN is terrible for 360 fans. This is absolute garbage. Amazing how much they praise the PS3. 360 is just as good if not better especially online, it's LEAGUES better.

IGN < Metacritic where year in reviews matter.

One only needs to go through metacritic's industry wide 2010 exclusive and multiplat scores to see IGN's skewed version of reality. A completely different story, especially on the "quality" front IGN crucified the PS3 for.

In reality GOW3 outscored Halo Reach, Heavy Rain out did Alan Wake, Yakuza 3 topped Crackdown 2, ModNation topped Fable 3, GT5 lapped Metro 2033, 3D Dot Game Heroes teabagged Deadly Premonition, even the Sly Collection stealth rolled past Splinter Cell Conviction.

On the multiplat front...Super Street Fighter 4, AC Brotherhood, DJ Hero 2, Blaz Blue Continuum Shift, Castlevania Lords of Shadow, Split Second, FF13, Just Cause 2, Transformers WFC, Dead Rising 2 etc all have HIGHER avgs on PS3.

IGN is but a pebble in the ocean of opinions. 10/10 marketing wrapped in a 5/10 site. ;)

Meh, i personally think the PS3 was the better performer this year, but thats because there were more games for my tastes. Though Fable and Alan Wake were great titles. To bad Crackdown 2 and N3-2 were not.
