Uncharted 3 Lost City, Plot Discovered

"After viewing the initial announcement trailer for Uncharted 3, it was clear that the game was going to, at least at some point, take players on a journey across brutal, barren desert sands. It was also rumored that the plot of the game would surround some sort of “lost city”. Well, after analyzing a recent interview with Naughty Dog’s Amy Hennig, along with a bit of digging on our end, we believe we’ve unearthed the story behind Uncharted 3 and just what exactly players have to look forward to."

I like the ring of "The Atlantis of the Sands".

The desert is a kick ass setting for the series. I can't even describe how much I am looking forward to this.

PLASTICA-MAN5620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

Well the people of that city were the biggest giants in history, almost 20 meters tall like they were described in the Coran the holly book and Iram of the pillars their wiped city, for the first time in history: 1400 years ago. Some of their skeletons were found in that same areas "The Rub’ al Khali Desert" 5 years ago by a petrol company called ARAMCO but the arabian army at that time was forced to black out the media and to tell it was just a hoax so many non believer people won't have to panic for such discovery, the same can be said for darwinist hippies.
Uncharted always used weird creatures in the plot, I won't be surprised they show these ones in Uncharted 3. They are something new, well fitting and better than the stupid infinite times used egyptian mummies. Using them makes the PS3 console of Giant enemies by excellence: Metal Gear Ray in MGS4, the Leviathan in Resistance 2 and the Goliaths in Resistance 2 and Resistance 3, the titans in GOW3, the MAWLER in Killzone 3 and now the giants of Aad: the people of Iram. And never forget the " Giant Enemy Crab" in Genji : Days Of The Blade ! Lol!

PS360PCROCKS5620d ago

lol what? 20 meters tall? Come on dude...

PLASTICA-MAN5620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

Yes man, some arabian channels showed a video of that discovery taken by helicopters and in other countries they only heard the news by radio so they weren't shown such disturbing images. Then the second day it was a total media black out and trying by any means to fool people that it was just a hoax. The only authentic image remaining was that one and they used some photoshpped images pretending it was just big kid joke but the situation was the opposite. I saw the video in those channels at that time and I know someone who worked there who brought some secret photos that he couldn't publish. Why in your opinion, Naughty Dog chose this particular setting and city and why this the first game in history to be fully translated to arabic? This city was a wonder in history and only giants could have built such big and long pillars in one places by thousands. They were the first arabian civilization to appear by the way. And Naughty Dog surprised us by the resurrection of the mayan mummies at the end of the first Uncharted and by the nepalien Bigfeet monsters at the end of Uncharted 2 so why you wouldn't expect to see somehow those giants when nearing the discovery of that city?

Edit: Sorry the discovery was in 2004 an not in 2005 to be more precise.

Sev5620d ago

Sorry hombre, that's a fake.

Here's the pic it was photoshopped from: http://www.graphics.cornell...

It would be cool if there were giants and giant skeletons. But it just isn't true.

PLASTICA-MAN5620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

To your eyes, just look closely, which one looks MORE photoshopped and which one looks MORE natural?
Sorry dude, like I told, they just reversed the situation and made horrible photoshopped photos of the only remaining picture pretending the ones they did are the original ones and the real one was described as fake, just by the intention of media black out. Lol.

I have seen enough proofs and evidence to "ACKNOWLEDGE AND CONFIRM" and "not just believe" that they are true. If your mind doesn't accept such things, why don't you go there and verify by yourself or just wait to play the game? Just ask yourself why Naughty Dog chose that particular city in that particular place? It was not by hazard.

A little bit of culture won't hurt you:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

Edit: at below,Yeah that's why we see till today a same human body having two heads or 6 limbs or something you can't imagine. Yeah those people "can't people can never exist" LMAO, that's why God himself who created them acknowledged that he didn't create such other beings in any other places except there:
"Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad - 7: [With] Iram - who had lofty pillars, 8: The likes of whom had never been created in the land?"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

And what do you see about those below? Aliens? ROFL!

PirateThom5620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

I would especially refer you to the last line.

http://www.snopes.com/photo...

Edit: Ah, hell, I'd refer you to the whole thing where it says it was made for a website as an intentional competition hoax.

PLASTICA-MAN5620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

And I know that lame joke too which only existed years after the discovery. Sorry for you you didn't witness the event when it was fresh before hiding any leak of it with such kiddy attempts. I even feel sorry for those who only heard the news only by radio at that time.

Real responsible people and channels were put in embarrassment after leaking the news when it wasn't intended to be shown to the public and die there. Any methods were used after by unprofessional young bloggers just to refute deny such discovery so darwinist drunks will be happy. Even those which portray other found giant skeletons were made after the discovery and they were lamely made for the same lame purpose of contradicting it and not just to confirm it. I won't go and tell how many new discoveries proved Darwin theory was wrong, it will be useless for non cultured people. If you don't want to to trust the discovery, it's your problem. Anyway Naughty Dog do and that's for the best :D

Edit: At below, it seems that you didn't read my second comment on the page.

"Why was there never another search there? "
The area was kept under military control like Area 51.
Do you know everything about Area 51? I guess not.

"A discover like that would forever change history and science."

Changing science like that in one day, would cause serious worldwide conflicts especially in Saudi Arabia which follows the orders of the USA and publishing those discoveries won't serve their political intentions. And you know what I mean.

Last edit: ate below: *Sigh* -_-

If only I recorded the video and the person gave me the photos he took at that time and showed us, but he was afraid he could loose his job (and maybe his head).
Anyways, I won't continue to argue more. Otherwise I would be called "serious fanatic" or maybe get big troubles if I manage to get some evidence. I don't want to risk my life on that. You don't believe in that? That's your problem. Comments blackout like the media blackout. :x

Sev5620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

@Plastica-man...

A) How old are you?

B) What do you do for a living?

I ask because I'd like to know how you qualify as someone who could "confirm" that the "evidence" and "proof" you've seen is real and archaeologically accurate and correct.

Just because you've seen a picture, or read of some conspiracy theory, doesn't mean it's true. And unless you have more "evidence" to show off here than the same Wikipedia page over and over along with some photoshopped hoax photo that's already been proven to be such, you're just coming off like a crazed fanatic.

Edit: You mean to tell me that a discovery like that was made and the media was able to just "black it out" with such ease? I'm sorry man, but that's just way to hard to believe. A discover like that would forever change history and science. Every archaeologist would be trying to go there and find more evidence. Why was there never another search there?

Edit again: I'm giving you more bubbles so you can keep talking. I really would like to see or hear more about what you call "evidence".

Another edit: Here is the contest entry for your "evidence" image. The picture was dated 8 years ago. 2-3 years before your supposed "evidence" that was "blacked out". http://www.worth1000.com/en...

LOLedit: I bet these are real too? They're from the same contest:

NJShadow5620d ago

Hm, I'm also rather intrigued by another part of this.

A "natural cistern of water which provided a unique oasis". Could we be talking about the ACTUAL Atlantis? I mean, it's a barren desert, perhaps the oasis can still be found below... somewhere?

PirateThom5620d ago

I doubt it because, according to the myth, consider this, Atlantis was specificially an island nation, that sank into the sea (after a failed attack on Athens). There's no, shall we say, metaphore with the myth. The island sunk into the sea and was lost.

NJShadow5620d ago

Ah, I guess I was expecting one of those classic Uncharted twists in the story. ^_^

PirateThom5620d ago (Edited 5620d ago )

I think you'll still get some twist because (and it's all in the article) the city in question, was supposed to have been built upon a giant cistern of water but the King defied a god burying the city under sand. The fact another exavated city had records of the lost city of Iram means there's historical context.

It's a hell of a story with just enough missing for them to fill in.

T3mpr1x5620d ago

Haha the Uncharted series always makes me read up on my history. In other words, I end up spending a few hours reading Wikipedia. :)

PS360PCROCKS5620d ago

ya tell me about it. My mom was watching something the other day on the history channel and it said "francis drake" and I was like, wait whaaaa? had no clue uncharted was real.

NJShadow5619d ago

Learning CAN be fun! ^_^

FAGOL5620d ago

Wow King Solomon how interesting.

Arup025620d ago

No point of trying to discover the plot. Just wait until the game releases and discover for yourself.

GrandTheftZamboni5620d ago

*** SPOILER ALERT ***:

Nathan Drake is going to have a threesome with Elena and one other chick.

Ex-Naughty Dog Dev: Big Studios Are 'Forced' to Hire Like Factories

Former Naughty Dog artist Gabriel Betancourt explains why the "sweet spot" for game teams is under 200 people and how AAA "factories" kill creativity.

phongtro123_com27d ago

There’s definitely some truth to this. When teams get too large, coordination starts to outweigh creativity—layers of approval, risk aversion, and tight deadlines can turn bold ideas into “safe” ones. Keeping a team under ~200 people sounds ideal for maintaining clear communication and a shared vision. That said, massive AAA projects also come with huge technical demands and expectations, so scaling up isn’t always avoidable. The real challenge is figuring out how to keep that small-team creativity alive inside big studio structures.

DarXyde27d ago

More than that, it's logistically untenable. Inevitably, when teams get too large, how do you keep tabs on accountability? I suspect this massive team size is a consequence of the perfectionism streak Naughty Dog has.

I wish we could have so many people working on something and it turns out great because I'm all for collaboration in spirit - the problem is too many people as part of the larger team and smaller units. Suppose for example that you have too many people in the art department; you will very often come up against fiercely competing visions for how things should look. That competitive vision will cause friction between team members, team doesn't work as a unit, the back and forth can further delay parts that the other departments are waiting for, etc etc.

A 200-person team says, to me, that we need to scale back game development. Even if it means we go back to PS2 era costs and scale, why not? Those games are still great fun, the budgets were in check, and you could literally break the 200-man team into like 10 20-man teams working on different projects.

Neil Druckmann Reveals He’s Working on an Unannounced Game at Naughty Dog

Neil Druckmann, the creative director of The Last of Us, is working on a new, unannounced game at Naughty Dog.

RaidenBlack363d ago

I know they've expertise in third person games.
But given the lack there of in PS catalog, I'd want the other project to be a narrative first person ND game.
Look, there are lots of 3rd person Sony games in variety of flavors. And ND is already doing intergalactic. And since they're pretty expert at gameplay and tech wise in whatever they do, they can easily venture a new genre and ship a first person game/shooter.

VenomUK363d ago

Hopefully the lead character is a boss babe who will challenge the patriarchy.

RaidenBlack363d ago

So, judging from the dislikes, hardcore Sony fans here don't like first person games, anymore?

arkard363d ago

Let naughty dog do what they are great at, 3rd person games

crazyCoconuts363d ago

I don't really have a big opinion on first vs third person perspective. That's one of the least important things to me when rating how much I like a game

Flewid638363d ago

Sounds horrible. The downvotes are right on this one.

badz149363d ago

I actually hate 1st person. very hard to associate with a character you only see their hands most of the time.

OtterX363d ago

funny thing is with failures like Concord and soon to be Marathon, Factions could have been Sony's guaranteed huge success with a shooter! I don't ever play online shooters anymore, but I would have come out of shooter retirement for a new Factions game.

RaidenBlack362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

{ coming from the above thread }
So PS Fellas hate first person games now? (Understandable)
But praise Killzone and Resistance series, as well?
And hope for a return of first party first person games? ~ but from where? insomniac is deep in marvel territory, guerilla is deep in aloy territory ... suckerP are not as big to undertake that change + dedicated to Ghost series
The only options are ND and Santa Monica, who are rumoured to be involved in parallel projects. ~ so take your pick.
And the other 'new' studios at Sony are not that hot right now with knee deep in live service fiasco

...Way of the Warrior 2: Electric Boogaloo

It’d be cool if they bought the Parappa licence and made Parappa 3 that’d be the real good timeline

Wait I thought they cancelled a game? Or did they announce another project?

https://wccftech.com/naught...

pwnmaster3000363d ago (Edited 363d ago )

I’m assuming it’s the unannounced game in the title you posted.

“Naughty Dog Reportedly Canceled a Single Player Game This Year, But Another Unannounced Game Is Still in the Works“

Lightning77363d ago

OK I gotcha. That makes sense.

jznrpg363d ago

Devs cancel games all the time early stages if it doesn’t turn out the way they envisioned it. We just don’t hear about every one of them.

Notellin362d ago

Yeah only a narcissist like Druckmann would announce a game this early that has a 99% chance of being cancelled.

badz149363d ago

so a 2028 release at the soonest

Lightning77362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

Some speculate it could be Uncharted spin off. It's already 3 years in production so yeah 2028 maybe 2027 at the absolute earliest but most likely 28 release.

Also to add. kojimas next game that's not OD is said to be 5 to 6 years out for PS. That metal gear inspired game. These games are just too far off it seems.

pwnmaster3000363d ago

This dude is busy.
So who is running intergalactic?

Knushwood Butt363d ago

'We have several directors on Intergalactic. I work with two game directors: Matthew Gallant and Kurt Margenau, [and] I have a co-writer in Clair Carré.'

pwnmaster3000363d ago (Edited 363d ago )

Okay you got me, I skimmed the article and video .
Thanks lol

vTuro24363d ago

Cuckmann is going to be Naughty Dog's downfall.

363d ago
itBourne363d ago

Going to be? The damage is already done lol.

Flewid638363d ago

Sunlight is good for you, I promise. lol

vTuro24362d ago

Damage has been done but it's not too late yet if they dump him now. Probably won't happen though. It's sad, honestly. We'll see what happens after Intergalactic. That game is going to have a huge impact one way or another.

StormSnooper362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

Yes because they didn’t make some of the greatest games. Right, we all just agree to live in your fantasy from now on.

Flewid638363d ago

yall say that about ever developer and then they end up becoming more successful lol

mkis007362d ago

Downfall? If anything he is a huge reason they are on the map! A few apes don't like the material hasn't stopped his games from being massive hits.

DarXyde362d ago

I have grievances with Druckmann, but he does deserve some benefit of the doubt. He's been in crucial roles at the company through all of their successes.

Maybe wait and see?
