Mass Effect Is Better Experienced On The Xbox 360

NextGN writes: "Finally! Mass Effect 2 is coming to the PlayStation 3 – about time, too. However, like Call of Duty, the Mass Effect series is best experienced on the Xbox 360, and here is why.

Editor’s Note: We are aware that these games are also available on the PC. Unfortunately, we are not a PC gaming website – so, we did not include that version in this comparison. Perhaps we will include a PC gaming section on our website in the near future."

I laughed when I first saw this in the approval section: "NextGN writes: "Finally! Mass Effect 2 is coming to the PlayStation 3 – about time, too. However, like Call of Duty, the Mass Effect series is best experienced on the... | PC"

SodoBot5633d ago

LOL! Yeah, I noticed that too. The author has this right, though. I think that Mass Efftect will be better experienced on the Xbox.... but I am not so sure about his UE comment... wasn't arkham asylum better on the ps3?

Dark_Charizard5633d ago (Edited 5633d ago )

This is gonna become the hottest news on N4G in the next few hours. You just wait and see.

*wink*

Soldierone5633d ago

Yep and Unreal Tournement 3 was exclusive for PS3 for a time period, and even has customization and other features they couldn't offer on360. But hey, lets be biased and bash one console so we get easy hits.

So stupid lol. Its THIRD PARTIES! They both get these games, they both offer the same experience, its not a battle of who is better. Thats exclusive titles and exclusive features, what the console itself can exclusively give to make a better overall experience. Third parties are not apart of this.

ASTAROTH5633d ago

I just sense someone is just not happy that the best XBOX 360 game of 2010 is going to land on the competing console on 2011. Just accep it. No matter if you believe it "belongs to xbox" as I believed FF13 "belonged to the PS3" its just a matter of bussiness.

If you want to keep the 360 version its good 4 u, because you could get the complete trilogy on xbox 360. But for people who didnt matter a sharper texture here and there and want to experience it on PS3. . . I dont think they will end losing anything. To the contrary there are going to be great first party content on the PS3 just to complement the loss of a few pixels and textures.

Just my 2 cents

SWORDF1SH5633d ago

From what I've seen. The PS3 demo versions slighty under-performs the 360 version. Don't own the 360 version but might pick it up. But does it warrant an article on how X version is better than Y version to use as Fanbait to divert a stream of Fanboys to their site for hits.

Avoid articles like this like its a monkey with a machine gun.

ME2 is sucking hard yet people keep talking about it like it's some great epic achievement. What am I missing here because I just don't see it.

The graphics/ textures/lighting are terrible!

Animation/movement of characters feels rough and crude

The voice acting and dialog makes my ears bleed(reminds me of Resident Evil 4 "Wait! Don't open THAT DOOR!").

And gameplay is unbelievably boring.

Compare UC2 gameplay/cutscenes to ME2 the difference is ginormous.

UC2 just the cutscenes

ME2 part 1 (those artifacts aren't just from youtube's re-encoding process that's how the how the game actually looks).

I'm really getting sick of idiots like you who keeps creating multiple accounts to bash popular games (doesn't matter which platform its on). You and your stupid worthless kind is the cancer of this site. And believe me, none of the true gamers here gives two sh*ts about what you think. You are an idiot and so does everyone who agrees with you. Mass Effect 2 is a great game. It doesn't matter which platform you play it on. It should be experienced by everyone. And graphically, there are none, and I mean absoultely ZERO glitches in the game on both 360 and PC versions (didn't see anything on the PS3 demo and I'm sure retail version will be the same). So do us a favor, GTFO or start expressing your opinions in a better way.

Retro_Zombie5632d ago (Edited 5632d ago )

@Blacktric "didn't see anything on the PS3 demo"

This is my first and only account so I don't know what the hell you're raving about.

Apparently you care enough about my comment to type out that long ass block of text. lol Did I hit a nerve? You really need to settle down there son because you're taking this way too seriously.

So the only opinion a person can have on this site is the one that's shared by the majority? Ridiculous.

Oh you didn't seen any of what I was referring too in the demo? Really? You're lying and what's more you're defending something that needs to be talked about because it's shockingly bad and also, so that your fellow gamers--that you claim to care about--won't buy into this poorly ported POS and get ripped off yet again(Bl Ops anyone?)by these greedy executives who don't give two shits about what they produce and market to the community.

This game in it's current condition is unacceptable and simply put not good enough. I've stated my opinion and if you don't like it too bad. I have all the right in the world to express my opinion and you have all the right to choose to ignore it.

Next time instead of choosing to go the route of the rambling emotional moron you counter the persons points with an argument that's a bit more substantive.

I know. What a joke article. This guys reasons are seriously flawed.

Also, didn't the devs say that ME2 on PS3 will be using the ME3 engine? So, that right there nulls his "engine best used on 360" claim.

That restaurant claim is pretty thin. Just because a game started on one platform does not mean its the best way to experience it. Take God of War 1 and 2. He's saying it's best to experience them on the PS2 because that is where they started?

So how is the 360 version going to be "slightly superior"? From what I have read, the PS3 version is using a better engine and had more time in development.

Soldierone5633d ago

And when its released....Metal Gear will be best played on Xbox because of Rising. The same guy will probably write that article and completely void the entire "it started on that console so that consoles version is better" theory.

Id hate to see what he thinks about GTA....

Vherostar5633d ago

These guys are nothing more than 460 lovers who like the rest of them are disappointed about 2011 so are hanging on to small victorys and when they cant even get them they make them up! Even if it was better on 360 (which its not) who cares?? I mean really? Will 1 single person not buy it for that reason? NOPE. Will it stop PS3 from having the most exclusives in 2011? NOPE. Will it mean you cant enjoy ME experience on PS3? NOPE. So EPIC fail really. However they need something to help them sleep at night so leave em to it I say.

Godmars2905633d ago (Edited 5633d ago )

I only have a PS3 and had no plans on buying a 360 just to play it. Guess I'll just have to suffer...

And honestly, how the fu*k is "Belongs on Xbox 360" an actual legitimate reason? More so when you bring up the PC version and promptly ignore its existence? Make a statement to that exact fact.

Karooo5633d ago (Edited 5633d ago )

He wants hits, its that filthy_eskimo guy

bah anyway approved the article have fun with your hits

Kroganwrex5633d ago

Like final fantasy belongs to the playstation AMIRITE!?

Godmars2905633d ago

Know this wont register since you brought it up, but its not the same thing. ME2 on the PS3 is a finished product that's even using the engine from ME3. FFXIII was in mid production as an exclusive before it went multi. Even held up release on the PS3 in the West so that both version could come out at the same time.

pr0digyZA5633d ago

I respect his opinion. I personally think it's best to me on the PC because You can play the first game (which helps draw you into the world), carry saves onto the next game(so you have a feeling of continuity),the game is cheaper than all the versions including future purchases (more so with the steam sale), plus the graphics look pretty amazing.

OllieBoy5633d ago

This article is such a joke.

"Born on the 360"

lol...what a joke.

Balt 5633d ago (Edited 5633d ago )

I'm sorry I couldn't read the article because I had to keep wiping his tears off the print. This guy is acting like a damn child here. This is one of the most unprofessional write ups I've ever seen, he literally puts all his bias into the article without caution or care.

Is this an informative piece or a deceleration to Bio-Ware not to go through with the Ps3 version? I also wonder if this same dick twist wouldn't shout for joy if MGS4 was ported to the xbox 360.

Scary sad.

Mass Effect - N7 DAY 2025

Bioware writes: "Like you, we’ve heard the rumors lately. You’ve made it clear you care deeply about what’s next. So let’s start by setting the record straight: the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe."

I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed

Like with Fallout, it's starting to feel studios are using TV / Film adaptations when they have no game info to talk about.

toxic-inferno203d ago

I feel the same way.

I mean, how difficult would it be for them to release SOMETHING of substance? Another short trailer? A couple of proper hints? A short story set during the original trilogy, but focused on fringe characters?

Hopefully they're working so hard on the game that they don't have time. But still, with every passing year and so little to show, the franchise will be slipping further and further from people's minds.

Profchaos203d ago

Yeah agree it's almost a cop out since Dev times are 5 to 10 years just throw out a few seasons instead you get them done in a year

jznrpg203d ago

I still haven’t beat Andromeda. I am waiting for a lull of good games in my backlog

P_Bomb203d ago

So the TV show will take place after the OG trilogy. I wonder which ending they’ll use?

Rebel_Scum203d ago

Should’ve just posted a picture of an Elcor saying “regretfully, we have nothing to share.”

anast536d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine536d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast536d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman536d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast536d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave784d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan784d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave784d ago (Edited 784d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
