the doom sayer's already talking about using VGchartz. as a source for world wide sales..but fail to take into account that even VGchartz cannot track world wide sales. that's why they had to do major adjustment's and still there incapable of tracking in areas's that both Sony and Nintendo have expanded into But Microsoft has expanded into more regions an countries also but not as many as Nintendo and Sony has.

So right there there are places on the world wide scale that Microsoft does not even have their xbox360 into areas that both Nintendo and Sony do.

Vgchartz cannot track that Region because they would not be asking their "VGCHARTZ" members to help them track data if they had the ability to do it themselves. an don't give me that crap that they can, they just want better accurate number" BS.

Someone's EGO got the best of them an still is and is getting people to follow the whole idea that that one site can indeed track "world wide" data.

the proof is in the pudding, no one tracking service by themselves can do it..NPD as an example could not an they have been in the industry of tracking Data quite a bit longer than VGchartz was even on the internet. but people still think that one online site can do what no other tracking service in the world can do?

Let's put it this way. you can think what you want but the only real way is to go by the company Quarter reports to the investors that they have to give out.

tracking services is mainly a guess on how well they are doing not a fact!
their more of a guide line an many times the most respected tracking services only stick to a certain region to lower their chances of being wrong in their chances of tracking the data, and guess what they are even off by a % # because they themselves cannot track it 100% ESP. on a market size of the areas where they cannot do it themselves.

They do not have any resources there to track the data.
in some regions that the companies that ship an sell the systems do , because the only real way to know for certain is the number of system's shipped/ and the distribution channel reorders more from the companies themselves.

oF course it is the real way to see those numbers is the Quarter reports from the companies themselves, which has to be on the money as best they can because they have to give that number to the investors, on a public traded company.

the fact we even get to see those reports is kinda cool in my opinion is gives you somewhat of a feel their over all market direction the companies may take, granted unless you are one of the investors you don't get to see or hear everything. Nor do you really want to know anyway?

I mean as gamers the game's are where it's at. Me while i game , an since im in the industry part's of the company info is kinda of cool to see performance to look at one a company that gets that big..lol hell i hope to one day get my company to be that large one day. Do I think i will? , no not really but i can strive for it..lol

Tracking service are alright to see as a guideline but not the whole picture . it's mainly a guess based on projections on a sample size. not 100% on the money bet it's a guess never the less.

while the companies themselves are a better review on the performance due to shipment/reorder number's in their distribution chain.
