Back on topic, however: I'm surprised, to be honest. The games both look gorgeous, of course, but so many sites have claimed the PS3 is the better version when, judging by these raw images, PS3 still has issue with contrast and lighting.

Still, never played ME2 so I'll probably get hold of this version.

PS3 VS XBOX ? which one is better? PS3 version Comes out about 1 year and a half after the earlier version. it uses a new ingine. Aside from that everything is pretty much the same. So who really cares which version is better? you get it on the console you play the most.

Now please BUY it so that there is more money to plough into ME3.

I ain't tried the demo yet.. But I've played both versions of the Dead Space 2 demo.. and to be honest, The 360 version comes out on top with superior anti-aliasing & shadows.

It's been like this with almost all multi-platform titles anyway so no surprise, really.. Get used to it after a while.

I can't believe people are going to pay $59.99 for this old game, while the PC and 360 version is only 19.99.

Still playing ME2 on my PC at resolutions far in excess of 720p and with no discs whatsoever...

At least we have it now I remember alot of 360 fanboys said Mass Effect would never be on Playstation and they were wrong.

Almost nobody uses it.

I think people see what they want to see. There are some minor differences, but PS3 is running on the upgraded engine, so that probably explains them.

And ME2 looks great on both consoles. Those who thought the PS3 version would look drastically different (for better or worse) are the ones at fault here. It's a port not a new game, they don't make new graphics for the PS3 version, it's supposed to be the same...

I'm buying Mass Effect 2 and Dc Universe in the same month :) I am happy you disagree people aren't happy you want to brag about the small things.

Strange I was expecting it to be better especially since there's almost a year between both versions!

Anyway can't we just stop with all the comparisons and let people who have yet to play Mass Effect enjoy it, it is my game of 2010 and I'm sure those of you who get it on PS3 won't give a crap if it's slightly worse (or better) graphic wise once this epic game starts!!

Best comparison of the demo that ive seen. They look identical. However i am going to wait for an official analysis on the retail version as some sites and the devs claim that it looks better than the 360 version. The comparisons from Lens of Truth were completly faked.

The PS3 version looks a little more polished...aside from that, I heard it runs more smoothly and Fluidly because of the new engine.

I personally don't think there is anything the PS3 can do that the 360 cannot, I think it's all down to the devs, if UC1/2/3 or Killzone 3 were on the 360 I think it would look and run just as good as the PS3, KZ3 maybe not so much so due to the physics side but maybe people need to accept that the PS3 and the 360 are pretty even, you always appear shocked when somthing runs and looks better on the 360 but you never ask yourself why, if I see somthing looks better on the PS3 e.g. physics I accept that, the reason the two consoles are doing so well is down to the cleverness of the devs ability to utilise what is there for them. I was in 'toys are us' the other day and was asked advise on which console to buy and I left them wanting both lol.

I thought the PS3 version was using the NEW engine.
If thats the case, if the PS3 dont look significantly better than my 360's copy, I'd say the developers pulled off an epic fail.

I was disappointed with ME2 demo. It wasn't what I thought it was. I didn't even finish the demo. I quited and started playing LBP2 which was great. Maybe I'll give it another try before I delete it. As of right now I'm not buying it.

These screenshot comparisons for all the multiplatform games are pathetic. People are saying "If you own both consoles, don't you want the best?" But how in hell would you be able to tell the difference? I mean, usually the differences between the two are very subtle and only fanboys actually give a damn what looks better. It's not like "OMG THAT ONE LOW-RES TEXTURE ON THE PS3 VERSION MAKES THIS GAME SO MUCH BETTER ON THE 360" Come the fuck on people...

Personally, this Comparison was off. As each picture was slightly different then the other. So already it impossible to make a complete 100% Comparison.

Third website I've seen to have comparison shots and they all have the same outcome so either all 3 sites are doctoring the images or the ps3 isn't what has been totted.

Gamers be aware this is all XBOX GAMERS revenge, the game does look better on PS3, WAY SHARPER but realize 360 gamers need to lie now and trash the game, they can't have their best game be better on PS3.

Ohh what the use of these screenshot? We all know Ps3 is better because it is running M Effect 3 engine so what the use of bragging? We will all get to play the game lets be happy with that?

color pallette and lighting looks the same on difference i really see is the ps3 has very slight edge in sharpness that's is all i can see....downloaded the demo last night haven't played it yet busy with LBP2 demo. I played the 360 version of ME2 and its a fantastic game and will buy this again on the ps3 for all the DLC.

I remember when I played God of War 3 demo and people said that the final product would look even better .

Well, it was at that time an year old demo and it had the same graphics of the final game.

So I don't expect that ME2 will be much different from what I have seems on the demo.
That by the way impressed me.

Besides 720p VS 1080p of the Pc version they both looks preaty close to each other. And the comparison I did was the PC version on full settings and in a 21'Led monitor vs a 32'led TV on my PS3.

Looks exactly the same to me. I have the game on my 360 and downloaded the PSN demo to compare myself (had the PS3 going on HDMI 1 input, and the 360 going on HDMI 2 input so I can quickly switch between channels at the exact spots).

I can tell minimal difference, if anything. If I HAD to say anything at all, I probably just slightly prefer the darkness of the 360 version a little more, in the lighting department. Though you can probably fix that in the settings.

I might buy it again just so I can get Kelly to "feed my fish."

demos dont have final builds. their compressed just so it fits for downloads. a demo vs a retail. still the ps3 has way better colour and contrast

Well, it's hard to see, but... the only difference I noticed was that the 360 version seems a bit darker...

But, really, who cares about that? Just play the game and have fun, haha!

Tested the demo, they are identical. I was a little bit surprised since wasn't ME2 on ps3 supposed to use ME3 engine? Well, it's just a demo, not retail version, and definite must buy for me still (again).

And PS. People who haven't played ME1, strong advice to play it first on PC or X0. I really can't see people getting emoted about the ME2 opening (demo) without any kind of emotional connections to the characters or the ship. One of the best openings ever.

CLEARLY the 360, which just doesnt stack up. I thought working on the PS3 version all this time was going to advance it?? I'm a bit gutted as I was up for a PS3 buy. Instead, I'll get a pre-owned 360 copy for a fraction and love every minute of it! Played the 360 demo and up close textures and facial movements were awesome, as was the environment and gameplay. Certainly felt Uncharted visuals in places.
