EA have been known to release updates of their more popular franchises, rarely bringing out new ideas, this year however seems to buck the trend with quite a few original concepts due out from now until Christmas. One of these new ventures is Boogie for the Wii, but what is it? The box does not explain much on the shelf, so hopefully this review will clear up what this is all about.

N-Europe's Mark Lee writes:
"We remember the first shots of EA's Boogie and it piqued our interest immediately. Not only did Boogie look unique and graphically astounding, but it also promised sweet Karaoke/dance based gaming. It was a shame then that the motion dancing promised by EA fell flat on its face. Karaoke worked well in Boogie yet the poorly implemented dancing model was clearly the section which EA needed to work on. Thankfully when you start playing Boogie Superstar it's clear that EA spent their development time revamping the entire dancing template."

Who? Never heard of her. Maybe I should pay more attention to western pop culture instead of burying myself in video games...

Following the announcement by Electronic Arts of an October release date for Boogie Superstar, WiiBBG has confirmed that despite previous rumors, the game will not support the Wii Balance Board.
According to an EA representative "Boogie SuperStar will not include game play on the Wii balance board. The game will utilize a microphone peripheral for singing and the Wii Remote's motion-sensing technology for dancing, to provide players with a realistic and enjoyable performing experience."
