So far, Capcom isn't committing to patching Dead Rising. Yesterday afternoon, the company confirmed to 1UP that their zombie thriller was optimized for high-definition television sets, confirming suspicions from gamers, and explaining the problems standard definition users have been experiencing.
"Unfortunately Dead Rising was optimized for High Definition TV's. Due to this, the font in the game might be difficult to read on standard definition TV's," the company said in a brief statement.
Capcom has also released a series of recommendations for gamers with small text syndrome:

A new Dead Rising is in the works, and we have the first plot details on this entry, which takes Frank West back to the action.
Please make it in a theme park or something extravagant like the original mall and casino(but different). DR is all about bigger than life environments, not some realistic gritty town.

Capcom has just announced its own event where it will showcase some of the upcoming titles it is working on.
"RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard for iPhone/iPad/Mac."
Feels like a deliberate omission from the title.

Videos of the canceled Dead Rising: Dia De Los Muertos have come to light, giving us a look into what the game could have been.
Shame loved the Dead Rising series. Even enjoyed 4 but not sure why they removed the campain co op.
Dead rising 1 was one of my favorite games back in the day. I never got into the others like I did DR1. DR2 was ok but 3 and 4 were kinda lame.
Good Riddance. Capcom Vancouver's entries are a big stain on what was a great, charming game series.
The ideas shown here are the pinnacle of their ineptness. Yeah, let's remove items on the ground, a core mechanic to the franchise, and one that people would show they still love in BOTW 2 years later.
It's wrong. I'm really disappointed in Capcom, what were they thinking? The majority of people have a f*ckin SD TV anyway, so they are knowingly supporting a minority of the market. A company of their prestige should hold their heads in shame. It makes no buisness sense either. Are they going to do this with all of their future next-gen games?
