Christopher Dring gets SCEE president Andrew House to tell all about this turnaround year.
MCV: What about Move, how do you evaluate its launch?
Andrew House: To give you a sense of how great consumer demand is, we have had to accelerate a lot of the shipments, and take them from sea-freight to air-freight in order to meet demand.
I think we hit the right marketing message in terms of reaching a casual audience but also showing the core gamer that there are great experiences with Move.

The path from the PlayStation 1 to the upcoming PlayStation 5 lines up neatly, but only if you’re looking at it numerically. In actuality, for more than 25 years the PlayStation team has had to navigate some of the industry’s most difficult terrain. During that time, a dedicated team of visionaries, engineers, and software developers established a brand from scratch, propelled it to unprecedented heights, struggled to maintain dominance, and eventually returned to what initially made them so successful.

Former Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Andrew House gives an uplifting farewell after stepping down from his position at PlayStation.
“Former PlayStation CEO Andrew House's Stirring Farewell: "PlayStation Has Always Been About Games"
I’m really going to miss this guy. Thank you for your help bringing PlayStation to where it is today.
"I had a meeting with Capcom recently, who were just fulsome in their praise of how much Move has positively impacted Resident Evil sales. They were basically saying they were so glad they banked on this early in the adoption curve because it has served them so well"
Good thing Move has a more hardcore focus.
i want them to make a whole game like the gladiator thing on sports champions, give it online, make it for the hardcore, give it the usual awesome ps3 graphics and then im in, truth be told, ill be in when i have the extra cash
His points on physical media are interesting. I've always said whilst DD will be the future it’s still way of mass market adoption and for those companies who think it’s just around the corner there deluding themselves. I reckon at a minimum its 10 years away from even making an impact in the ratios of physical:downloaded
