Stupid article

I kinda liked the article, but that's just not the same batman. He's evolved past the point where people look at a bat suit and go "lol, why?". Gamers probably also take the new movie cannon as background (the reason for that suit - it strikes fear into people and acts as a disguise, which of course all super heroes need).

But what can I expect from someone that narrows down the essence of Batman with "He dresses like a bat, it's funny"?

I disagree with the author.
It's plain to me that he's never picked up a Batman comic in his life. Batman is meant to be scary, he's projected as scary in the comics. Everyone is afraid of him. There is a reason for why he dresses up as a bat, you can find this out just from watching Batman Begins. Plus, the suit is intimadating, not to mention it helps conceal his identity.
I imagine that if the author were to meet Batman he wouldn't laugh at him. (If Batman really existed, of course)

I like the serious tones, in fact Arkham Ayslum had a lot of serious overtones to it. I liked that. This is part of what made the game so good. I look forward to Arkham City's even darker tones.
It's time for people to start thinking of Batman as a desparate struggle, not only for himself but for Gotham. And it isn't just him. Those whom he hunts will be desparate for survival, for victory over Batman. They'll also be dealing with rival gangs inside the walls of Arkham City.

Batman is "gritty" and he's also scary.

If you don't understand how dark themes are central to the Batman, you really don't understand anything about the character. The guy watched his parents get shot in front of his face when he was a little kid, and has had close friends killed and crippled by his arch-nemesis. If that's not the makings of a story filled with sunshine, rainbows and a laugh a minute, I don't know what is.

If you're looking for a more lighthearted experience, go play Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

And yes, that was a rhetorical question. Now Gamer has been busted on multiple occasions of heat spamming their stuff to the front page because no one would read it normally.

i read to sentences and was done, its very apparent this guy knows nothing about batman or his history.
