And demo coming within a week.

poopface15633d ago

you ps3 owners should get it for sure. I would, but I already got it with all the DLC. Its an amazing game, and the overlord, kasumi and especially the shadow broker are some great DLCs.

SSKILLZ5633d ago

i know nothing about the series , can you relate this game or its mechanics to any other ?

INehalemEXI5633d ago (Edited 5633d ago )

Its like KotOR , but a shooter in third person with cover, you can command your squad, Biotic abilities and things instead of the force, great game.

poopface15633d ago (Edited 5633d ago )

I suggest you DL the demo in the future to see for yourself. But the game plays like a TPS with force powers(biotic powers they call them), with a cover system that is a little bit more clunky than gears' or uncharted's. Also, you can give you two squad mats simple commands while playing, like move, stay, attack, cover.

The game has alot of exploration and dialogue choices, and many of them have an effect on the story, small and large.

It takes some thought to play, but if you like choosing how the story plays out and exploring like in RPGs and gameplay like pretty much any third person shooters, you will probably like it.

Blacktric5633d ago

Shooting and cover mechanics are from Gears Of War but done better. Conversation system is the same as Mass Effect; there's a wheel that gives you conversation options as a short summary of what your character will say when you choose. Also, while Mass Effect had a classing looting system, that's not the case with ME 2. You can't get weapons of the enemies you kill but can find them around in certain levels. Same goes for weapon/armor upgrades.

Clarence5633d ago (Edited 5633d ago )

I agree, its my favorite game on my 360. I got my 360 for Gears, then I discovered ME. I wish I could move my version of Sheperd over to my PS3. I spent alot of time building him up.

cool...but how does it perform? If as good or better than the 360 version then cool - might just repurchase this title.

Speaking of purchasing, are they going to price this at $59.99?

firelogic5633d ago

Check out IGN's video preview. The PS3 version looks noticeably better. It's probably because Bioware confirmed it's running on the ME3 engine. As for performance, sounds like it runs fine.

chainer30005633d ago

I own ME1 and ME2 on both the PC and 360. Never purchased the DLC, so I'll be buying this title for a peak at the new ME3 engine and for the fantastic DLC and new comic at the start to make huge changes to my ME2 saves without having to replay ME1 (though I miss the epicness of Sovereign!!)

TreMillz5633d ago

Either Mass Effect 2 or LBP2?!!...and dont say why not both THATS RICH PEOPLE TALK DAMMITT!

captain-obvious5633d ago

i know how you feel
but thank good ive savings
so both for me

NoOoB1015633d ago

That depends on preference. Mass Effect 2 is an amazing game but a game like LBP2 gives u unlimited re playability. I would say if you own an xbox pick mass effect 2 up for 20 bucks and get LBP2 =D

xXxSeTTriPxXx5633d ago

NoOoB101 said it best if you have both consoles get me2 for cheap on 360.could get me1 & 2 for less then the price of one recently release game.

Dsnyder5633d ago (Edited 5633d ago )

Little big planet 2 will be far better.

Edit gut above said it all "unlimited re playability" is something only LBP has.

UltimateIdiot9115633d ago

Flip a coin. Head - ME2. Tail - LBP2

It really depends on your preference. If you're into single player and something with action and scifi, ME2 is the better choice. If you're into platformer and enjoy the whole create, share, play, then LBP2. Also, if you have kids in the house, LBP2 would be better.

Personally, I am going to get ME2 if I have the money, and wait on a GOTY edition of LBP2.

pain777pas5633d ago

Sorry man, this is too tough a call. Just decide which really interests you first. You know you will get both eventually so its just a matter what are looking for right now. I cannot chose either so I have to say it i am deeply sorry... i am getting both games day one.

Whackedorange5633d ago

I guess lbp2 will have some sort of replay value but i dont know how much new elements that would be in lbp 2 compared to the first one.

ME2 is as many said a action rpg and a very good one. Recommends that over lbp2.

jack_burt0n5633d ago

you need all 3 LBP2, Dead space 2 and mass effect 2. Get a loan!!!!

come on sell a kidney!

Baba19065633d ago

well you can build ME2 in LBP haha , so get LBP, no honestly get both, no other way around, just wait for one of the two till you have a little more money or the price drops. =D

"Also, it's been confirmed that the title looks better in PS3 than in 360."

~ My money is waiting. Thank you, BioWare, for taking advantage of the PS3 and including all the DLC on the disc as well. Can't wait to play both ME2 and ME3 this year, 2011 is looking like the best year ever to be a GAMER!

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast525d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine525d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast525d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman525d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast525d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave773d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan773d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave773d ago (Edited 773d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
