I purchased a PS3 in May at $599 ($599, repeat, $599, get the point?) for THIS game (it's a killer app.) Of course there are over a billion other reasons for my purchase (but that is my opinion.) Anyway, this game will sell systems. The word killer app is overused these days. Heavenly Sword's anime stories, really got me into this game. The rich story, visuals, and unique controls (versus god of war) will give PS3 players something new. Can't wait!

I'll probably set a new world record time for completeion, as I'll pretend all of the enemies in the game are descendants of zhuk the trolling baboon.

Folklore - Not much expectation here: Really enjoyed the demo.
Heavenly Sword - Decent score: I will be buying this day one. This game even got my wife excited.

Bioshock - Have not played it yet :(
Halo 3 - Not a fan of Halo, but starting to get caught up in the hype. I am actually going to pick this up with in the first few weeks I think.

Wallet - Empty, and still not even holiday season.

It just seems to be a trend at least with me. Reviewers have been very strange lately. Yet when it all comes down, it's what I like. Not what they like.

Since action adventure is my favorite genre, please sell me on another Action adventure title that I can only find on another system.

many people bash the game for being too short, but i dont think it matters to most people. while i loved final fantasy xii (played it over 100 hrs)i dont really have the time to put into a game anymore.im having more fun with games that are quicker to get into and finish. I visited my brother last week a nd we played mortla kombat 3 on an ol snes. zero depth,awesomely fun.

This game falls in the genre of DMC and probably God of War.

I don't see this game soly pushing Units out the stores. It's the first next-gen god of war type game and even manages to beat out DMC and Conan.

It will be a good game, but really nothing spectacular. Nothin new here, it's not pushing the genre in any way. Again Ps3 dosn't have much games so all these early games will sell well.

It's really next year when there is more competion amongst games we'll see what we think PS3 fan think is killa over the other.

Considering that Saints Row and other average Xbox360 titles are selling 2 million average, not to mention AAA games like Halo3 which already have 5 million preorders, and are expected to sell 15 million copies at least.. even 1 million of expected sales isn't much for a title marketed as AAA.

Heavenly Sword only isn't "AAA" to haters and ppl who never cared about it.

I'm sure for the millions of persons who will buy it it will be an amazing game. Huge production values (awesome cutscenes, best voice acting ever in a game) and solid gameplay, seems pretty good to me.

Can't wait for this one!

not every game will be a killer app. some games will just be *GOOD GAMES, but low and behold, the moment a promising title appears on a console (especially the PS3 as of late), people slap it with the "This could be the >insert console here<'s killer app!"

Warhawk, to me, is not a killer app, but damn, it's one of the best games i've played on the PS3.

Lair is not a killer app, but i enjoy the game immensely.

i don't think Heavenly Sword, Ratchet, or Uncharted are going to be killer apps, but i think they're going to be excellent games.

keep your expectations in check people. you will only be disappointed otherwise. don't let the media shape your opinion. we are simply sheep to these people, and used for hits and sales (print mags).

god knows there are games even to this day being hyped as the epitome of greatness, that i feel are only "okay" or "good"(Gears of War springs readily to mind).

how does bioshock have tons of replay value? because of the alternate ending? once you beat it twice, you will probably never play the game again, it's got no multiplayer, i hardly call that tons of replay value.
and how do you know HS has no "replay" value, have you played the final version? It could have an alternate ending just like bioshock which will make you want to beat the game again.

heavenly sword is unique and unlike any of the games you mentioned. you forget ps3 owners could give a rats a$$ about halo 3, especially since they'll have UT3/HAZE to keep their FPS needs satisfied. If anything, Heavenly Sword is a breath of fresh air considering most of the big titles coming out are shooters.

why do people buy movies when they can rent them? if the movie is great, you buy it because you feel it's worth the money. even if you only watch it once or twice. wanting to own a great game does not make me a fanboy. and all the stuff you list about bioshock, i could turn around and tell you, well i've beat most of the guys using heavy stance, i want to beat them using aerial combos and light stance. besides, some reviewers have already said the game i action packed and it rarely ever stops.
Just to let you know, i own bioshock and so do most of my friends and NO ONE plays that game more than twice, they were all playing it once the game came out and now they're all playig gears or Halo 2. lol, i never see any of them playing bioshock. You are an exception

you may have fun with a game despite it's rveiew, unless it got 1-4 out of 10 then u should buy it if u think u will enjoy it.

reviewers play games to review them, not to have fun. Thus, the game won't be so fun if u look for all those bad ingredients in that game.

Why do people keep saying "its AAA/ killer app." when they have not played it yet? I'm not saying that it will or will not be but take about counting your chickens before they hatch.

I really had high hopes for this game but when i played the demo i knew i wasn't gonna buy it. I think ninja gaiden ruined action games for me. that game was so perfect.

says that Bio Shock had 20+ hours of gameplay then he says he has beatin it three times. I dont think he meant what i took from it but that adds up to around 7-8 hours each time

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Motorstorm would be epic with the visual upgrade, maybe this game would be a harder sell with the genre being not as popular nowadays..

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too
