I didn't enjoy Red Dead but if I were to choose I would have gone with Battlefield or GT5.

But that's just my honest options!

yes. it is. obviously it has a bigger fanbase than Mass Effect 2. If you just can't handle it, then you are obviously not a gamer that can take things.

They give it to multiplatform games to not offend 360 owners. /jk

RDR was a great game and it deserves the award.

Depends on what types of games you want there is never a definitive best of anything its all down to personal choice and things you love.

Some people may of been so happy with kinect adventures they think its there best game they have played this year. Some people could of thought the same about enslaved. The point is no group or award can decide on such a thing.

For me it was. It all comes down to personal preferance, and RDR is mine. I just loved it for its originality, it wasnt a sequel (though there was a red dead game before it, nothing in this game was relevant to the other red dead)

The world was amazing looking, and I loved how they actually put animals out in the wild. The story was pretty good, and they had one of the DLC I have ever played, Undead Nightmare.

i really enjoyed RDR but it wasnt my personal favorite. GOW3 got my vote.

By the amount of features, GT5 should be the best of 2010 even being a racing game.
The game is overwhelming.

Man, Mass Effect 2 was better imo. I finished both RDR and ME2. But ME2 had so much content, so much replay value... RDR was great, but not the best of 2010

yes it is and you can't compare it too gta4 because i've never been a fan of them.

Mass Effect 2 or Mario Galaxy 2 were the real ones to deserve such title in my opinion.

Red Dead Redemption had great production value but it failed in some other things but the 2 i mentioned above didnt failed in praticly nothing

Bayonetta (360, calm down fanboys its only cause the PS3 version is not in 60 fps), Mass Effect 2, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 were all better. Too many glitches in RDR and it just too much like GTA 4

for sure it is.....I've spent more time with RDR than any game in recent history...not to mention, Rockstar gave me a reason to actually come back to the game for an additional 20+ hours with the greatest DLC missions ever in the Undead Nightmare!

vga= a popularity contest.it's not for ground breaking original games.

RDR is a good choice - it was a great game.

I think I might have had Starcraft II, BFBC2 and GT5 ahead of it but that's probably because I prefer multiplayer and although RDR MP was fun for awhile it lacked any staying power.

I went with the hype and bought RDR at day 1 thinking it would be as much fun as GTA4(1st GTA I played)but I was wrong.
The game RDR sucked so much to me that I stopped to play it after reaching 10% of the trophies .

Also RDR was THE ugliest hyped game of the year.
It beat even Fallout New Vegas that was at least a FUN and addicting game to play.

I still preffer the FMVs , art direction and graphics of GTA4 > RDR.

I will wait next time before going to buy a Rockstar game that is not a GTAV.

Red dead was good but after you beat the campaign and seen everything, it dried up fast.

Yeah i wont try to bash RDR but in my book it didnt deserve GOTY... it was between GOW3 and ME2 . And the competion was tight BLACK OPS , REACE, GOW3.ME2, AND RDR really ??? lol and RDR got boring really fast .......But in my opinion my GOTY is GOW3
