Yesss!!!
Here we go.
Kz3 cant come soon enough!

Dr-ZOOM5561d ago

btw I am not a zoophile

Rot_in_Fail5561d ago

I'd love online story co-op even more. I rarely play split-screen.

-Alpha5561d ago (Edited 5561d ago )

I'm actually more interested in the campaign than multiplayer for a shooter for once.

I'm a sucker for split-screen and the campaign sounds promising with their focus on story

This also means the "PS3 can't handle double the epicness" line is false and I'm sure Uncharted 3 will have split-screen too now

karl5561d ago

wow.. 3D and now split screen co op?

how good would this game look if there wasnt none of those features?

seriously ...

himdeel5561d ago

...I prefer online coop to split screen as I rarely have another gamer over at my house. I need to be able to play in my underpants at ALL TIMES :)

Troll_Police5561d ago

@Alpha-Male22

How can Uncharted 3 support campaign co-op when Drake is by himself half of the time? Notice in that plane crash scene that Drake was by himself so how can you implement co-op? Who will the second player be, the dead guy that Drake took the AK-47 from?

-Alpha5561d ago (Edited 5561d ago )

@Troll Police

He seems to spend a good time with Sully, which is great news.

I think it'd be cool if for some scenes you follow two different scenes-- for example, say Sully ended up landing somewhere else after the plane crash and you both find each other, yet manage to do it playing split-screen and overcoming your own set of obstacles. Maybe even have actions of one effect the other, for example, you bring down an ancient ruin and the other player feels the shock :P

Don't say it can't happen!

TooTall195561d ago (Edited 5561d ago )

@ Troll_Police

I'm pretty much the only one who doesn't like Uncharted 2, yet even I know there were separate co op missions you could play online. Alpha is suggesting you might be able to play those split-screen now.

Edit: The man himself beat me to it haha, and I should have said "could" be suggesting.

As for Killzone, nothing touches it in my book. I'm still playing botzone 15 Elite in the Beta. For some reason Elite isn't as good as they were in KZ2, but that could be because of the new controls.

I_find_it_funny5561d ago (Edited 5561d ago )

@Alpha

that would mean you can't get 100% of Uncharted story by single offline playthrough?

not gonna happen

-Alpha5561d ago (Edited 5561d ago )

@funny

No, I'm not saying that. You can have the whole storyline in SP but have bonus scenes in co-op.

It's just a suggestion

I assume since co-op is there from the start they will integrate it into the story or have a separate storyline for it or something.

P1NKY5561d ago

Split-Screen wasn't much of a surprise for me. If they can get Killzone 3 to run in 3D then Split-Screen shouldn't be much more of a problem. They both need the PS3 to render everything on screen twice.

Kleptic5561d ago

I am glad this feature is in, although its pretty useless to me...but at least the media can't hammer it anymore for not having it...

I'm much more interested in online co-op modes of some sort...split-screen stuff was great when I was the only one in my group of friends that had a PS3...now they all do...

Does anyone know when more killzone 3 stuff is coming?...I remember killzone 2 had an embargo lift in December 08, when we got to see a lot of what the finished game would end up looking like...Killzone 3 still has very little shown of the campaign...I don't want to spoil anything, so I don't really care...just curious if a big wave of trailers and stuff is coming this month...

NecrumSlavery5561d ago

This is great news. Every single time I get new info on this game, it brings a smile to my face.

nveenio5561d ago

Split screen co-op makes sense since it can do 3D. I actually like the sound of this. It means I'll be able to play with my son. And that's awesome.

ZombieNinjaPanda5561d ago

@Alpha

Branching off Coop as in Gears of War? Could be interesting in Uncharted. Could easily be done. Can't see of any reasons it can't happen.

visualb5561d ago

wow...this is megaton =P

I think sony will try to consistently awe us with announcements and teases of all their exclusives until the end of 2011 xD

i want Split Coop.. but also Offline

morganfell5561d ago

"i want Split Coop.. but also Offline "

Split Screen is offline. Split screen online would require at least 3 player co-op and GG isn't going that route.

Maybe you meant online co-op? Because I agree with that. For me the online co-op is far more important than the offline spitscreen mode. Hopefully though GG will deliver both. It should actually be easier to implement that online co-op than the splitscreen offline mode.

jriquelme_paraguay5561d ago (Edited 5561d ago )

i mean, play the Campaign offline coop with a friend in the same system and tv...
I miss the 2 players games. This Gen is almost all about Multiplayer Online.

sjaakiejj5561d ago

.. that's what this article is about. Offline co-op has been confirmed, e.g. split-screen (a screen that is split into several parts)

shadow27975561d ago

I want split screen online multiplayer. Few games do it, but it's a lot of fun.

visualb5561d ago

thats split-screen co-op

gaming lesson:

Split-Screen: Same tv, same system, thus the ONE SCREEN is SPLIT

online co-op: Different tv, different system, full screen used for each gamer.

KZ3 will have both, because offline co-op = online co-op automatically with any online game.

Persistantthug5561d ago

You totally missed the fact that both Split Screen co op AND online co op gameplay can exist at the same time.

(example Johnny and Tommy play on same TV in California, while Bill joins them from his house through his internet connection from Texas)

jriquelme_paraguay5560d ago

yes.. you can play Split Coop online, or Split Versus Online, Split Coop Offline, Split Versus Offline, Online Coop with other player...
Your Lesson: Fail

I better try to finish the games I missed this year because Killzone 2 was the reason why I got behind. So when this comes out...I will miss out on alot of the PS3 exclusives!! I effing love gaming....

Black-Helghast5561d ago

I want Online Co-Op...Since the only online co-op game i have (for Now) Is LBP :( It would be awesome to finish Killzone 3's campaign in co-op online with a buddy!! :D

FACTUAL evidence5561d ago

OMG!!!!! Yeah if you don't own a ps3 by now you must either be:

1. Braindead
2. A hobo
3. Braindead x2

visualb5561d ago

or...

a brain dead hobo...

Chuk_Chuk5561d ago

Can't wait to take a stroll through helghan with my bro.

garos825560d ago

now all i want for this game to make it PERFECT is a single played campaign playing as my beloved Helghast.

Come on Guerrilla let us destroy the ISA scum!

There's too many games to choose from

No Metal geat solid 1,2,3,4?
No Resident evil?
No Silent hill?
No Midnight club 3?
No NfS Underground 2?
No Final Fantasy?
No Burnout 3?
No Dragon quest 8?
No Days gone?
No Ace combat?
No Tekken/Soul calibur?......
just from the top of my head

PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.

FinalFantasyFanatic466d ago

30 is way too low over the entire history of Playstation, I just wouldn't be able to narrow it down that much, I would pick 100 at least.

Storm23466d ago

Yeah...really odd list. I get that it is personal preference and I love most of the games listed, but my list would definitely be different. I agree though, it would be incredibly difficult to come up with just 30.

lockedongamer1466d ago (Edited 466d ago )

I only picked first-party titles. Otherwise, I agree!

EDIT: Except for Days Gone, I don't get the love for it but you do you!

Chocoburger457d ago

I didn't like Days Gone either, it doesn't deserve to be on any best of list.

Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.

1Victor1032d ago

Can’t wait for their next franchise

SullysCigar1032d ago

Same. They nailed it with Horizon. The trouble is I also want a new Killzone! Can't I just have it all?!

jznrpg1032d ago

I’m with you I want Horizon 3 , Killzone and new IPs

badz1491031d ago

I have yet to play Burning Shores as I just started Forbidden West (bought at launch, just unwrapped last weekend LOL) and playing on PS5.

man...I still can't believe the graphics especially now I'm playing it on my LG OLED. that graphics and with stable performance backing it up, GG really is the master of their craft!

Vengeance11381032d ago

32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III

Shane Kim1032d ago

That's kind of a huge drop though. It's only been two games.

VersusDMC1032d ago

One year after realease HZD sold 7.6 million.

https://www.noobfeed.com/ne...

So not a drop off.

Unless you're saying a HFW should have sold as much now as HZD sold in 5 years?

Vengeance11381032d ago

It's been 3 games, this includes Call of the Mountain. Also no, its a great improvement over HZD.

solideagle1032d ago

lol you are comparing:

HZD: 28 February 2017 - May 2023 (6 years+)

HFW: 18 February 2022 - May 2023 (1 year+)

We will see if it surpass original number.

Phoenix761032d ago

@shane, 2 full main games, 2 DLC add ons, 1 VR spin off game, oh and a an official LEGO set.
Not too bad for an ip that's only been on market for 6 years

REDGUM1032d ago

Wow, very impressive. I didn't know the numbers were so high for Forbidden West. Still playing through it myself

thesoftware7301032d ago (Edited 1032d ago )

Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.

I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.

blacktiger1032d ago

thank you fps lover, I'm with you

talocaca1032d ago

Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.

The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.

OzzY-waZZy1032d ago (Edited 1032d ago )

Kinda wish they move on from Horizon tbh.

lukasmain1032d ago

They are probably working on mutiple projects. One of them is Horizon 3, but another is a multiplaer game and probably somehting else.

Imalwaysright1032d ago

There were rumours that they were working on a Socom reboot.

Killzone 3 is playable with mouse & keyboard on PC via RPCS3 & KAMI

DSOGaming writes: "While Sony does not plan to release Killzone 3 on the PC, Yahfz shared a video that gives us a glimpse at what such a PC version could look like."

Still looks secure 2 gens later... one of my favorite ps3 moments. With 3D and move the game is on another level

MadLad1783d ago

PC almost always ends up the best place to play games, even if it takes a while.

What would you rather play decades down the line? A game at a fixed resolution and frame, considering you have a working disc, and the hardware?
Or run it on an emulator that can update the experience all around, and let you use whatever control input you prefer?

If you insist on the former, it's really only for the sake of nostalgia.

Applejack1783d ago

I disagree. The main draw for consoles has always be the simplicity of just putting the disc in / downloading it and playing without worrying about anything else. The average person just wouldn’t want to deal with emulation even though it’s very important for preservation.

Terry_B1783d ago

Even emulators are super simple to use.

jukins1783d ago

Youre getting flak because people on here thibk of themselves as pc wizards. But honestly most poeple try and go get emulators and romz they end up with malware.. yes theyre "easy" if you know the basics but alot of people dont. That said the fact that its taken nearly 20 years to get a sustantially better experience for ps3 games than on its native system shows the complexity of getting bc to work. Sony, if they have any intention, should just invest in a vastly better psnow experience.

1783d ago
Vegamyster1783d ago

jukins

Most people who emulate don't get malware, you'd have to be going to some weird sites for that to happen, heck years ago people were getting sketchier ad's resulting in malware warning on this site if you didn't have a ad-blocker lol.

SinkingSage1783d ago

Can't get malware if you legally dump your own games, which you should.

Rachel_Alucard1783d ago (Edited 1783d ago )

That's fine if that's the main draw, but it doesn't make it a better experience, just a preference. Having the freedom to do the things you can do on PC is what the appeal of PC is. Buying a game on PC means you never have to worry about the console makers just deciding the next hardware shouldn't support the generation anymore, which means everything you bought is stuck on that hardware instead of moving up with everything else. Nintendo uses this tactic to keep reselling the same games over and over at inflated prices. Sony cut all previous gens off the PS4 and sold it back to people in a poor attempt with PSnow. While the PS5 supports PS4 games, that may not be the case in the next gen after this. No to mention shutting off all the previous stores and updates completely. Even MS stopped making new BC titles at some point, so now there's a big list with 17 pages of titles that are not playable on Xbone and are just trapped on older gen. That's not a problem on PC, the reverse happens where you only have to worry if your hardware can play the newest releases at ultra with no issue.

AzubuFrost1783d ago

Shhh don't say that aloud! You're going to trigger a lot of console infidels here.

Shane Kim1783d ago

I rather play it when it's available then wait 10 years.

MadLad1782d ago

Did you purposely miss the entire point of my post?

Inverno1783d ago

Well that's the beauty of still owning a retro console tho. Those who usually complain about emulation are just being blindly loyal to a company. Emulation is great for many reason, but if I still owned the console then I disagree nothing beats plugging it back in and going down a nostalgia trip
