Why Mass Effect 3 needs an Elcor team mate

Mass Effect’s expressionless elephant race the Elcor have to explain their emotions because they can’t alter their tone of voice. They are the best thing in the universe. CryGateEntertainment have created a vision of what it would be like if you could befriend and romance an Elcor in Mass Effect 2, and it is wonderful.

LOL!!!!

"Loud uncontained out-burst of Ecstasy : yes, yes, oh god yes"

ME3 definitely needs to have a little more variety in crew members.

Christopher5627d ago (Edited 5627d ago )

Yes, more variety...

5 humans (2 through DLC only)
1 genetic tube baby
1 asari
1 drell
1 salarian
1 turian
1 krogan
1 quorian
1 geth

Agreed, diversity is severely lacking. /s

Edit: updated humans, forgot about Kasumi.

RedDead5627d ago

They're all humanoid aliens and may aswell be human. Take Kotor, a wookie, a ruteless droid who wants to cause nothing but pain, a droid that beebs. A mandalorian :P , your standard jedi sort of who is willing to betray the jedi if you are. Then your Han solo copy. Along with the main character who is (SPOIELRS)

They vary alot in terms of their thinking. ME ones are unintersting imo. I like the Turian the most as a character, his stories are interesting. Wrex for the entertainment too. The rest of them are meh. Kotor will always be better than ME. Bye bye final bubble.

I can see the desire to play something non-humanoid, but that's not likely to happen. Maintaining the humanoid status makes it easier to share weapons around and doesn't force specific limitations on just one or two group members. These sort of limitations rarely, if ever, add to the story or gameplay and tend to cause people to lean towards the easier to manage and utilize races.

But, I do see your point of view and think it would be neat to at least have the option to fight alongside a non-humanoid race that you perhaps had no item/equipment control over but that was purely skill point based on its armor, weapons, and similar skills.

CrzyFooL5627d ago

HAHAHAHAHAHA

that made my day.

SnakeMustDie5628d ago

I'm not sure if I want a teammate that sounds like Microsoft Sam hahahaha. They at least need to add a Rachni or the alien species that is similar to the Shadow Broker(I don't know his species but he looks kinda cool).

GenericUserName5628d ago

Ha ha ha ha ha ha. That is ridiculous.
Elcor team member: "Stern and forceful: I said put the gun down and put your hands up"
Ha ha ha...that would be hilarious

blodulv5627d ago

No, we DO NOT need an Elcor squad member. Bioware, pay no attention plz.

Thank You.

Mass Effect - N7 DAY 2025

Bioware writes: "Like you, we’ve heard the rumors lately. You’ve made it clear you care deeply about what’s next. So let’s start by setting the record straight: the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe."

I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed

Like with Fallout, it's starting to feel studios are using TV / Film adaptations when they have no game info to talk about.

toxic-inferno186d ago

I feel the same way.

I mean, how difficult would it be for them to release SOMETHING of substance? Another short trailer? A couple of proper hints? A short story set during the original trilogy, but focused on fringe characters?

Hopefully they're working so hard on the game that they don't have time. But still, with every passing year and so little to show, the franchise will be slipping further and further from people's minds.

Profchaos185d ago

Yeah agree it's almost a cop out since Dev times are 5 to 10 years just throw out a few seasons instead you get them done in a year

jznrpg185d ago

I still haven’t beat Andromeda. I am waiting for a lull of good games in my backlog

P_Bomb185d ago

So the TV show will take place after the OG trilogy. I wonder which ending they’ll use?

Rebel_Scum185d ago

Should’ve just posted a picture of an Elcor saying “regretfully, we have nothing to share.”

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast519d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine519d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast519d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman519d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast518d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

SimpleSlave767d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan767d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave767d ago (Edited 767d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
