On the subject of hacks. Every game in existence uses them, beit pc or console.

Because of the mess of Directx, the fkup that was vista, windows7 that has to be constantly updated because it's a buggy as fk.

Drivers for amd that are very poor.

Drivers for Nvidia that need hacks to run some games correctly.

Stop trying to make out that PC games are perfect or that the PC side of things is ROSY. Because you will make yourself look like an ass.

Directx11 is a good step in the right direction.

But overall Artstyle is where it's at.

Hah, not only the tree trunks are super UNreal and leaf vegetation over simple but also that the water is super basic with utterly flat textures animated totally devoid of any interaction. And with no animal in sight and such basic interaction with plant-life... its such a stretch.

I mean with all these GPUs and 8 gigs of RAM and all, things could've grown better than MGS3 which really had amazing animal life roaming around on a 32mb RAM system. Hell amazing, they over-hype crysis so much and talk about realism, which is only in textures in an otherwise old-gen game. No jungle-animals, no realism!

Windows 7 does indeed need updates, just as any OS Before it.

They were low quality at best as were the shaders.

But it still needed a decent vid card back then, with a good 2gb system memory.

My point being, you seem hellbent on knocking consoles, when they use alot of tech you paid $$$ for. Remember the fx line of cards do you? Epic mess for dx9. People had to play hl2 in dx8.1 or find another hack.

And hoops if you cannot get better textures out of a 1.5gb vid card and 4-8gb system memory, something would be very wrong.

Point is, For what the Consoles have, they do a fine fking job of pushing the visuals they do.

I know what exactly what you mean...... Its like every pc gamer is willing to go out and buy more expensive video cards and CPU's as soon as they come out before they actually push there gaming rig to its limits (Not the same as maxing it out by switching settings)
Hell if anything y'all PC gamers should be inspired by the current gen consoles, especailly the PS3 seeing that first party game developers are trying to push its limits by using this so call"Old Tech" compared to pc standards and they're still managing too pull off great in-game if not in-game PC standard physic's and graphics while using this same old tech that some pc's once had and after looking at some of these PC games..... it kinda seems a bit sad that you ass hole pc gamers are trying to bash console gamers seeing that the game developers are working on pushing whatever gaming system limits to its potential....... Unlike how the PC market is trying to see how far they can push your pockets ($$$) before you say enough is enough, why isnt my current RIG not powerful enough to play this ass, ass game?.........Think about it, the PS3 only has 512mb of RAM split, and its pulling off games such as killzone 2, Uncharted 2, GT5, and soon to be Killzone 3, Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3....... WITH LIMITED RESOURCES!!!!!!

It's funny listening to people who know ZERO about PC gaming or people who are still using Windows ME talk about PC gaming.

Pc gaming isn't about Black ops or halo or GT5, it's about MMO's, RTS, MODS, and online gaming. Sure we have our exclusives, Starcraft 2 Vindictus Eve Online Battlefield 2 but they make up just a small part of PC gaming.

PC hardware is about having the brand new tools and tech that can play a game just like the developer made it. PS3 360 are closed systems so yeh they should be pushed to the limits in every game as the hardware hasn't changed in 5 years but every game doesn't look like God of war 3 does it. NOPE!

Every Pc game should look like Crysis but they don't because of the thousands of different PC configurations makes this difficult but in the end Pc games still look better (insert BFBC2 here) and PC gamers get to use the new tech now and not have to wait for Sony or M$ to sale you another $500 console and milk you for online play. Besides most PC games receive a graphics mod that takes care of this issue.

Sony has great developers pushing the PS3 but what about all the third party games that look like crap on the PS3? Most Pc developers are learning DX11 while PC modders make games with better graphics than any console. Stalker Clear Sky Complete looks better than Crysis but then Crysis has a Natural mod that destroys all but your intel GMA graphics chip won't let you run it but yet people complain here like they are graphics experts but then complain about a $300 Graphics card that they don't have while I have two of them.

Bottom line this is the Cryengine 2 NO console can run it NO console game looks better that it and any body with a Pentium 3 with integrated GPU can't run it either so go play black ops and don't worry about those of us with $1000 computers because our GPU's allow us to see things you can't see, run, or understand.

If you can't afford Enthusist PC gaming then don't talk about it. you just look foolish that way.

It is future proof. I haven't played a game like Crysis since and probably never will. Wasn't the greatest FPS but certainly it was special

Crysis looked MINDBLOWING in 2007 (at least the few frames I could render on my PC did), still looks good today, which is an amazing feat. But has definitely aged when you consider the wow factor it once had. Braid is a game from 2007 that's future proof bc the graphical style is so simple. Looked good then, looks as good now.
