I dont understand why people b*tch so much about RRod, i got mine after 15months of hardcore gaming in our house (8-9 hours a day combined between all) and i got a replacement in 2 weeks. i rather have that than watching our ps3 sitting there for the past 4 months.

Gaming consoles are all about gaming and its the only place right now which u can get AAA titles in abundance.

just fix hardware issues and be all good.

if not M$ and money, all x360 would be send from stores long time ago.

well, why some people like x360, because it was 1st console, which has showed greater graphics, than ps2/GC/xbox could.
and ofcourse price + good online service(even for money).

and some people don`t like to wait, they want nice graphics and now, and don`t wanna wait for nextgen graphics only after 2 years.

It's Sunday. NFL is in full swing, I check the news during half time on this website and its the typical BS. Sony fanboys trolling a 360 article. I own a PS3 and 360. Sorry to say my 360 in comparison to my PS3 has the better games, better graphics, better controller, better online service, and better price. Thats why it has survived. Thats why it will be a 3 way race this generation. If you disagree its because you dont own a 360 and therefore are automatically baised towards your PS3. Hope Sony gives you a cookie for your brand loyalty while the rest of us "OPEN MINDED" gamers enjoy games on both consoles!!! BTW your really missing out on some great games. So far truth be told Warhawk is the only game I wish was on the 360 out of the whole PS3 library to date. No other PS3 game would even tempt me to put down the 360 controller. Look in all seriousness I have said it before. I own a 360. Its fun. Gears is old now. I am hoping Halo holds my attention a little longer. Apart from Halo and bioshock.... What else is there? Bioshock is a quick game... Halo... I hope it lives up to the hype... Seriously. What great 100's of games does the 360 have. Better yet what semi recent ones. Dead rising and prey were so-so... Eternal sonata might be ok. (I kinda hope it is its looks inventive at least) Seriously... Please fellow 360 owners... Enlighten me. Besides the soon to come halo, the semi recent bioshock and the future ME(Which I am not looking forward to. I feel M$ plays out the SciFi scene too much) What is there...?

I don't want to get started here because I could write a book with all the bad experiences I've had with the system. When it worked, I was in gaming heaven-especially with Oblivion. But, having been through three consoles in less than a year, dealing with inept, foreign customer service, and being forced to perform chip reflows with heat gun, towel tricks, removing the ridiculous thermal pad under the GPU/CPU heatsinks to replace it with Artic Silver thermal paste...all just to play a game for an hour or two? Everytime I turned the thing on and got those lights, my sheer anger at MS grew. "How dare they sell me this piece of garbage, "I thought. The more research I did, the more and more people I would discover whom had the same problem. It was then that I decided to get the console I "really" wanted, but couldn't wait for-PS3. Afterall, I figured, what's the point of having all these really great games if the medium I'm playing them on could explode at any moment. Before I got the PS3, console gaming meant-

1. Turn on Console
2. Wait for red lights
3. While red lights flash, suffocate system with towel for 15 minutes
4. When Solder is hot enough and flowed back to proper connect points, remove towel, and turn off.
5. Turn back on a few minutes later and play game.
6. Worry every second you play game that track marks do not appear on screen and system crashes.

It came to the point that I wouldn't even play a game like Gears of War for more than 45 minutes because of the enormous heat it caused (GPU) within the system. I played Halo 2 more than anything else because it was easy on the GPU. So, I dare ask, what's the point of 360 having all of those great games, if at any moment the system could crash? It was for this reason that I got rid of it, forgoing Halo 3 (till its on PC), and ending my consumer relationship with MS Game Division. Bastards.

the x360 is still fighting the war against the RROD. it hasn't survive just yet.

on the hunger for a nextgen consele then making a game like Gears of War the following christmas.

its that simple. You take GEars out of the 360 past and u can subtract about 3 million units from there total.

everyone knew the first Xbox was about to bite the bullet.& people did'nt know when the PS3 & Wii was going to be released,and thus people did'nt want to wait.Now,coupled with all the money the average 360 consumer has put into his/her console,automatically = success,regardless of RROD's.Good games or a variety of games is'nt an issue when there's no comp & a year headstart.You'll pay for anything.

Well it's pretty easy to explain why the 360 has not only survived the next gen, but been a success as well. One of the greatest gaming launches in history that included many highly rated games. AAA exclusives that can't be match. A variety that easily fits any games needs. Brand new franchises like Gears of War, Dead Rising, Crackdown, Bioshock, etc...shows that the 360 is not relying on old favorites. Also the lackluster gaming library of the ps3 has also helped out with the success of the 360.

The 360 is hardly a success. 12 million consoles in two years isnt a success. The reason it is suviving so long is that MS has the money to throw at it, not "great" games. If the console and its games are so great why hasnt it sold over 6 million consoles A YEAR. Give me a break.

I do think that the 360 is a viable competitor in the gaming industry and its very badly needed. I just dont agree that it has been any kind of success so far. The numbers just dont show it, especially in other regions.

If the PS3 did launch the same day over here in the UK then it would not sell as much as the 30, reason why, the games would be the same as the 360 and here in the UK its overprice by far too much. Why should I pay $800 or £425 for a console which does not have the killer AAA titles, is expensive and has online service which is not that great but good.

I'm not willing to let companies screw me over here in the UK, you guys get alot of things earlier and cheaper for that matter.

I have read countless reviews on amazon and ebgames, etc, where most dual owners of both consoles, give a better overall experience to the PS3 (simply by the added features and the word "future" comes up alot!). Many 360 reviewers of course do not own a PS3, over 5 million sold vs. over 10.5 so we can see the reason.)I have also read people trading in 360's for PS3's. The PS3 may have a similar bite as 360 but a totally different flavor. Graphics depend on the game/developer. What game you like to play is all a matter of opinion. 360 owners say, "They must not have a 360". That is arrogant, because I have not found a first party game that makes me want to purchase one. I have held the controller for 360. It is a much needed improvement over the original xbox controller, but if force feedback is given to SIXAXIS, I truely prefer the SIXAXIS. PS3 owners know exactly why they purchased systems at $499 and $599 (no impulse or blind "Sony" loyalty at that price guys). Yes, Resistance, Gran Turismo HD, Motorstorm, F1, Lair, Calling all Cars, and Warhawk with Heavenly Sword coming this week are Sony's current first party offerings. All of these games cannot be experienced on a 360. I see Viva Pinata, Gears of War, Forza 2, Bioshock (third party exclusive), Crackdown and Blue Dragon. First party games sell me a system, 360 does not have my sincere reason yet. We can all enjoy Oblivion, Rainbow Six, Graw 2, Call of Duty etc. It is simply a matter of choice. The 1 year lead of 360, and features of xbox live (HOME on the way: FREE by the way), have given 360 owners reasons for implied victory, but this will come to a close soon, and we all need to start giving props where they are due. Both systems are great. No and's if's but's or maybe's. But we are all entitled to our gaming preferences.

the 360 has had some top notch games, with even more on the way. They've been a blast to play, and I'm really looking forward to some of the upcoming releases. I think that's how it's survived alot of the bad press it's received from the hardware issues.

It's rediculous to even say anything about a console war. PS3 hasn't been out a year yet. 360 has good games but it also has been out almost two years. 360 lacks backwards compatibility and the hardware failure is really a pain. I just got my 360 back a week ago. I like my PS3 though it hasn't seen much action until assassins creed comes out. 2008 will be the year for ps3 i beleive. I love video games and i've gotten past the argument of one is better than the other. 360 has live, theres no getting around that live is great, and fun. PS3 is backward compatible with its 2 predecessors, and (though not as extensive as live) has a free online gaming. and the wii is just fun as hell. Don't under estimate nintendo they have been in the industry a long time and they know what they're fans want, and are innovative when giving them what they want.

each system excels in something the others fall behind in. I'm a gamer and I love console gaming. I have all three the 360, PS3, and WII. all are fun and all of them have exciting games i can't wait to play.

It would be supremely interesting to see MS xbox buisness model. When do they expect a return in their gaming department, and how the RROD has effected their expected return. It seems like MS is not going anywhere for a while, since they already have so many chips in the pot.
