Those are import only which some studios in europe have the right to release on HD DVD if I'm not mistaken.

Dumb idiots. The movies have different distribution studios outside of the US. The Prestige was released by WB in Europe, hence the HD-DVD release. The really big releases like Spider-Man, Pirates, Transformers are distributed by their US parent companies, so don't go grasping at straws.

The more crap that gets dug up, the more desparate you're coming off. I'm flat out finding a HDDVD title in my town let alone a BR exclusive HDDVD title.

You know, one of the latest groups to sign on with BluRay, is likely to release several movies from HD-DVD exclusive studios as well... like Universal. It's not a dirty little secret, it's business.

Maybe they are released out of north america since considering most hd sales of tv's, hd-dvd players are in north america??......too give the illusion of dominance...??? hd sales in europe are minimal?? can anyone answer these questions...

Let me begin by saying I own a PS3 and an HD-DVD addon for my 360. I also own both Blu-ray and HD-DVD movies. I prefer Blu-ray for it's storage capacity, cost, and supported audio BUT I like the idea of region free HD-DVDs.

The reason I said desperate in my title is because this article twists the truth.. I first saw this thing days ago and I decided not to spread it's bias. The concept is simple actually, these movies are "hidden" under different distributors names because THEY ARE DIFFERENT DISTRIBUTORS! Outside of the US there are other distribution companies hence these bastard HD-DVDs. The point is you won't find every BR exclusive on HD-DVD outside of the US but the ones you do can be played on your HD-DVD player. Like I said, I like the idea of region free.

The links provided prove NOTHING, they are only linking to a catalog of movies. The companies listed are not Blu-Ray exclusive.. I have not seen a Disney, or Fox movie that are listed there.

This article was very poorly researched, as the author has no CLUE as to which companies are "exclusive" and which are multi or dual format. If you have any doubts, respond to my post.. and I would be more then happy to clarify.

Well, even if it other companies distributing BD movies on HD-DVD, they need a license and the actual movie, which they have to get from the studio that made them, right?
So in other words, the releases aren't BD exclusive. It just means that the studios who made them aren't publishing them on HD-DVD, instead relying on 3rd party companies to do it for them (probably collecting royalties on them too).
Since when did exclusive lose its meaning?
There seems much more going on than what we're seeing on the outside... Maybe this is the start of the war, not the end of it!

I would dissagree a hundred times if I could people can import US BD exclusives for HD-DVD. You're making too much of a big deal out of it you are by far one of the most bias Sony fanboys on this site.

Sure what movies are on its important (i might get an hddvd player for stuff like transformers and stuff) but people really take this stuff too seriously.

One might be better than the other. I personally don't know about hddvd yet but i assume i would like it as well(supposedly better features but less storage capacity).

WOW! and Lighting doesn't believe they are available, I guess the link provided is either fake or a helluva mistake, ha ha this is interesting, this could be just the incentive for those really wanting to get a hd dvd player but so far just need a little more push, I'll do some research about the import prices, compatibility, and what bluray exclusives movies are available on hd dvd so if this is indeed correct I'll make sure my bud's know this "dirty little secret"=
