Warhawk does seem like it could be great...if they can work out some of the network problems and bugs.

I've spent 30 minutes some nights before just trying to get into matches and stay in one long enough to finish. Other nights it works fine for an hour or so.

COD4 Beta is more robust and stable than Warhawk.

Warhawk is indeed a great game, only problems I have is getting into an official ranked game in the evenings, most nights I simply give up and do something else.

The adventures of nathan hale over warhawk any day but that is just my opinion.

Are you sure you on the right site because if you talking about how this site has "never ever any negative Sony news" then I guess you are on Playstation.com or something. Are all the NEGATIVES reviews about LAIR, Warhawk problems, Sony insulted HALO 3, Killzone has dumb AI... ? Ya stop being a f**king fanboy because MS aint paying you sh1t to kiss their asses.

Let me ask you a question what killer app game the 360 has for the first 10 months since it cames out? I consider Gears is the FIRST killer app the 360 has.

People (especially 360 fanboys because they know they have a lot of good to great games) keep comparing the two consoles when the 360 is almost 2 years old and the PS3 is not even a year old yet. If you guys want to compare the two in terms of games or online service (Xbox live is like 5 years old and PSN is 10 months old) then you need to do the correct comparisons. It is not that hard. Once again. MS IS NOT GOING TO PAY THE 360 FANBOYS ANY MONEY FOR KISSING THEIR ASSES.

The other thing is that how do you know Warhawk is the "ONLY" killer app the PS3 has because last time I checked there are a whole bunch of great games coming out in 08.

I think WARHAWK is going to be a sleeper hit/underground hit like HALO was when it first came out. People are going to buy this game for a very very very long time until it is a proven francis for the PS3, right now only hardcore fans are going to buy it until the game becomes even bigger then what it is now. I'm happy the PS3 has a multi-player game like this one, before you can only find games like these on the 360(except RFOM)and thats why I went out and bought a 360.

But times are changing people we'll see a ton of games on the PS3 that will prove that the system is not going to sit around and just lose this gen console war. Right now its true if you want games you go to the 360, but after this holiday session that will all change. Next year is when the PS3 truly shows that the system has to be taken seriously, Q2 08 SONY will drop the price to $400 and by next holiday session 08 $350 to $300. The PS3 is a system that can be compared to China (a sleeping giant).

I hope people don't read this and start a flame war and I hope to god that they don't call me a SONY fanboy(I'm not I love playing both systems and I'm seriously happy I made a investment in both of them)all I'm trying to prove is that people shouldn't sit there and say its over for SONY when games like WARHAWK proves that the system has something to offer all gamers. And think about it this gen console war just started and a winner won't be crowned until 2009, so we still have a long road a head of us people.

Even though it has some issues that they are working out...it is still the most fun game out there. The best third person shooter...better than gears of war, since there can be up to 32 players online, instead of 8 in gears of war. It has more variety than gears.

If only heavenly sword or lair had a online battle mode.......

Do you know how to read? Did I say anything about Warhawk being an AAA title? I think it should be an AAA if not because of the PSM review (6.5 I think) and Gamespot (8.5 and the only negative feature in the game according to them is the in game help is not helpful which is not important). You consider a killer app is a AAA game. For me, a killer app has to be a good-great game and it has to help its console to sell most. That's the definition of a killer app if you ask me.

And about all the percentage that you posted. I think you should go post a poll and ask ALL the 360 owners that which game did they consider a first killer app for the 360 between Gears, COD, Graw.... I already know what game they will vote for and I'm pretty sure that you know the answer also (if not then stop living under a rock and stop being stupid)

TheMART feeds on our attention so lets just leave him alone. Anyways, I love this game. I don't care if reviews only gave it 8/10, that's their twisted 360 lovin' opinions. I know this game beats Halo 2 multiplayer with a huge bamboo stick and thats all that matters to me.

For all the talk about Xb and all these fantastic games it has, I have nearly 30 games on it and to be honest alot of them are crap. There are less than I could count on one hand that I really couldn't do without. And no surprise either that they are nearly all shooters, (and available on PS3 as well).

If Xbots have so many good games, why do they spend all their time talking about PS3?

I am mostly a lurker and I rarely ever get involved with these threads but I can't help myself when I hear such nonsense coming from some of you on here. I own both the PS3 and the 360. Up until Warhawk, I didn't get into R:FOM because I was living in the Gears world for a long time, I barely ever touched my PS3.

Warhawk is simply the best online gaming experience I have ever had on any console online. I said this a couple times under other Warhawk articles and I will say it again.

Show me one game on any other console that runs as smoothly as Warhawk online with 32 players? Oh and btw I don't have to pay $50 dollars a year to play it and I downloaded the game for $40 bucks! The 360 does, for now, have the edge overall in terms of gaming variety but Sony has the better downloadable games IMHO and nothing on the 360 beats Warhawk for performance and fun factor.

Gears of War is a simply stunning game but it runs like crap online. It was / is filled with bugs and glitches and it never held a consistent frame rate. When you use smoke grenades in the game it almost comes to a stand still. Again "nothing" on the 360 comes close to Warhawk in terms of online stability. No slowdown, frame rate issues, gameplay bugs and glitches, 32 players and just plain silky smooth gameplay in all it's insanely fast paced glory.

I like how all you Sony fan boys attack The Mart. Why is it his fault that the PS3 is slow or sucks. You guys should be referring to Sony in the same light as you refer to The MArt. LOL

skitziod is right on and he has both systems (u lucky fukr). I have friends that have 360's and i play there games. I had fun on Gears but no game can match what warhawk is online. 32ppl smooth running kill fest. Yes there is a problem with ranks and getting into ranked servers but once im in it shows no problems at all.

Its the best online all out war game i have ever played. And i love my online shoot em up's!

I agree... PS3 first Killer App is warhawk.. In my opinion only game I would own if I had a PS3.. at least until Metal Gear and Final Fantasy are launched.
It's kind of ironic.. The best game is 800mb and is designed to be digitally distributed. It goes totally against what Sony and some developers have being saying about the importance of blu-ray this generation. A game does not have to have 30GB to be a good game.

Resistence, Motorstorm were the first killer apps. There is NOTHING, let me repeat, NOTHING on the 360 that can come close to Motorstorm. That game is gorgeous, and a BLAST to play. 360 has NOTHING like it. Resistence was a masterpiece. So much chaos, so many people onscreen, NOTHING like that on the 360. Warhawk is a Killer app for sure, but its not the first.
Thats three solid killer apps, and Uncharted, haze, Heavenlysword, Ratchet and Clank are due to come out this year. PS3 will have atleast 7 killer apps by the end of this year, while 360 has about 5 now from 2 years launch.
Let see, Bioshock(good looking, but nothing happening), Halo 3(Halo 2.5), Gears Of War(good looking, but not much going on on screen). I cant believe everyone is dogging Lair, maybe its not the killer app it was supposed to be, but they took a risk, and thats saying a lot more than 360 generic FPS games. Notice GOW, BIOshock, HALO3, all shooters.

but a cant describe it as AAA. or a killer app. Granted its very addicting and fun. But after awhile people are going to want more. It only has 5 maps. I thought Shadowrun was awsome when it first came out now its boring after playing the game countless of hours. Warhawk is a better game than shadowrun but i think the same might happen. Games really do need some sort of a single player component.

I just bought Warhawk from PSN (retail version not out in Europe yet) and I have to say this is the best online game I've ever played. That's very high praise btw, I don't throw those words around lightly. Resistance and Motorstorm are great games, but multiplayer mode in Warhawk has that distinct 'please, just one more game!' aspect that all the great MP games have.

With Warhawk you finish one game, 30 secs later you're thrown into another and you tell yourself that after that game you need to go to bed because it's 3am and you've been playing all day. But if you're like me you'll ignore it and will still be sitting there an hour later :D

My sister's boyfriend is going to sell his 360 (on the worlds online marketplace lol) in order to get a PS3, he was thinking about it before anyway but Warhawk kinda sealed the deal. Warhawk is a system seller for anyone looking for an awesome and addictive MP experience. Don't get me wrong Resistance and Motorstorm are great online but they don't give as many 'Holy ****!' moments that you get from playing (or watching) Warhawk online.

Warhawk is AAA in my book, Halo 3 can throw every MP trick at me now and I can sit here comfortably and say 'I've seen it all before' or 'I've seen better'. Warhawk isn't all about flying the plane with the same name but it's a rounded MP experience. 3rd person on foot, vehicles, planes, turrets, zones, flags, dogfights, teamplay and cooperation and above all else pure awesomeness! GAME ON!

Just thought I'd post this 'informal review' lol then get back to playing. Overall rating: A must buy!

The PS3 deserves a killer app. It's been almost 10 months since Resistance and for me Motorstorm just doesn't hold up as killer. I'm glad that Warhawk is successful. I wish it had a single player component, though, because I don't always want to play with others.

people are quick to call themart a fanboy!! which I think he's alittle on the rough side but... he only does that to get up under you sony boys skin. but think about this, if the Ps3 was in a better situation an you guys wasnt hyping games to no end only to have them fall flat, he couldnt do this. if the Ps3 was all that sony said an the games lived up to the hype then there could be no way he could talk trash. remember that!!

plus you guys keep talking about the 360 first year an AAA games, well the PS3 aint competing with the 360's first year games there competing with the 360's games of now. so is that MS fault that sony didnt launch when they said NO!! sony put themself in this hole now its up to them to crawl out of it!!

on a lighter note, I found out that my PS3 with nero media home works better than my xbox 360 with media center extender, so for now on the PS3 will be the machine used for streaming my movie library!! it accepts more codecs an there is no encoding needed!! works great!!

40 players online and all on a free network, funny how microsoft charges for xbox live though the x360 is more then 2 years old and it still cant be as good as a lunch tittle from PS3.

I bought Warhawk on the PS3 on the same day as I bought Bioshock on the 360. One day i'll get round to playing Bioshock properly. For the time being, Warhawk is so much more fun and takes up my time.

I have to agree that whilst Resistance isn't a killer app, its a damn fine game. I would put it on par with Half-Life 2 in terms of gameplay. It's a superb story that keeps you coming back for more.

The article says "..one of the first killer titles..". Not the first. Not the only. In any case, Warhawk deserves to be considered a killer title. And for those of you who are curious, I do consider Resistance to be the first killer title. Then again, opinions will always vary.

I keep saying this: Sony was much bolder in the PS3 era vs. pS4 era. I appreciated their attempts at large scale multiplayer like Warhawk, Socom Confrontation, and yes, MAG. I loved all of these games and spent many hours playing. This is the Sony I want to start seeing again.

Man was this game underrated. Huge maps incredible draw distance 16 vs 16 with so much going on tight gameplay and if you had a team of players actual strategies come into play. Man I miss this game.

I love this game, I had so much fun. I wish there was a sequel or remaster coming.

Top 10 game for me, nothing has been as pure, simple fun as this game was to me. I really hope there is a remake/remaster at some point.

Capture the flag. Enemy jeep carrying the flag with 2 or 3 enemies in the vehicle, comes sppeding towards you, getting ever nearer to their goal. Then the mines you laid blow the lot sky high.

When I first read this, I was like, "Whoa! Cool!" and thought that January 2019 was a really long way out there. And then I remembered, oh wait, that's less than 2 months away. Hmmmmm.

Funny how Warhawk got bashed for being a budget title that was multiplayer only. Fast forward to 2018 and now most of the big multi-player games are doing the exact same thing, charging full price and shoving micro transactions down our throats.
