IGN: Mass Effect 3 - What We Want

It's no secret that BioWare is working on Mass Effect 3. After all, since its announcement the Mass Effect series was touted as an epic space trilogy. Though everyone at IGN loves Mass Effect 2, there's always room for improvement.

I want Bioware to not hold anything back. 1 Blu-Ray disc can take anything Bioware can throw at it.

Cevapi885644d ago

im a little surprised that people wouldnt like the inclusion of MP

i would like to see what kind of gameplay Bioware could come with..being that they are apart of EA, devs like Dice could definitely help with MP, plus they are currently working on Star Wars The Old Republic, so a hybrid of a straight up MP shooter like Mass Effect with OR rpg elements

idk, i think it could work

toaster5644d ago (Edited 5644d ago )

BioWare does not need BluRay to make a lengthy game... also why are people still fiddling with disks? That was sooo 2006. With the magic of the Internet PC gamers can just download the entire game to their hard drive and not worry about silly disks :P the content goes beyond what the disk can offer.

Next up, BluRay is needed for good graphics...

Cevapi88

i hate the idea of mp but co-op some thing like in demon souls basically 3(4 players online) friends can join that the begging of a mission or some thing might be cool tho not needed, but i like it the way it is,i want them to focus on the single player not a mp.

TheFreak5644d ago

console gamers can download games too you know, but some like to have the game on a disc like me

RevXM5644d ago (Edited 5643d ago )

@toaster

No obviously they dont, but hey disc swaps, large mandatory installs or compressed ass download versions is just so much better. /S

You clearly dont know much about consoles or Blu-ray.
Discs is a good thing especially Blu-ray, download is a nice additional option.
And it suprises me that you even bring up HDD.
Troll harder. real gamers know that SSD is the thing.
HDD is like some unreliable shit from the stone age.

Unless Bioware either locks up the extra DLCs with a voucher or still requires to physically download the DLCs.

otherZinc5644d ago (Edited 5644d ago )

"What we want"?

A 2011 release date!

@Troll Police, GT5 is on 1 disc & it seems to have more problems than Forza 3 that is on 2 disc.

Also, on "what we want": dont make the game suck now that its multi-plat, as Lost Planet 2 sucked & Bioshock 2 wasn't as good as the 1st. Please make nothing suffer in the game, make Mass Effect 3 fantastic as you did the 1st 2 iterations.

Also, dont let EA ruin your game, PLEASE!

Godmars2905644d ago (Edited 5644d ago )

But a DVD can't.

So unless the game comes on multiple discs or becomes PC/PS3 exclusive, you'll take what they can manage.

@Cevapi88:
Pretty sure MP is on the "Don't Want" section of the list. Its the title of the second page in fact.

Cevapi885644d ago

yea i know, thats why i said i was a little surprised since Bioware could accomplish something within the ME universe...just look at the Old Republic, its shaping up to be a hit, hopefully it is a success, that will only make the argument for MP in ME that much more relevant

ReservoirDog3165644d ago

ME2 = 2 disks.

Remember?

Man that was a good game. Need to replay it as female Shepard.

Godmars2905644d ago

Multiple as in 3 if not more. Also suspect nothing on IGN's wish list would be fulfilled.

frostbite065644d ago

"1 Blu-Ray disc can take anything Bioware can throw at it"

1 Blu-ray disk!! You must be kidding. ME3 should be at least 2 blu-rays.

The ps3 is the only home console which can handle multiple blu-ray disk gameing.

I say go duce bioware, or go home.

Pootangpie5644d ago

So unless the game comes on multiple discs or becomes PC/PS3 exclusive, you'll take what they can manage.

yeah It's a shame that after 5 years you guys still think fictional conspircy exists I hope mass effect 2 and 3 is butchered on the PS3 just to teach you ignorant sony ****ers a lesson

Godmars2905643d ago

What "fictional conspiracies" are you talking about Pootangpie? The one where MS bought exclusivity for some titles? The flareup of anit-Sony sentiment before the PS3 was even released?

The mentality is there and you're proof of it. Hoping that ME3 fails, that its butchered, just because it might release on the PS3 and 360 at the same time.

Nevermeind what's wrong with you, what's wrong with those who agree with you.

Bluray has absolutely nothing to do with content. Greed and DLCs on the hand determines almost everything. There is no reason for EA and Bioware to fill an entire Bluray disk with RPG goodness when they can rape you $15 per DLC throughout an entire year then release then double dip with the a GOTY.

theIMP5643d ago

Do you know what rape is? It is when someone FORCES a sexual act on someone else. They are not FORCEING you to buy the DLC so how is that raping? If you want it pay, if you don't then don't pay. Crying about it just makes you seem like a crybaby.

theonlylolking5641d ago

They cant. The xbox is holding the series back.

I agree with a lot of the things IGN said. I personally loved the exploring parts in ME1 with the Mako as well as the elevator loading parts. People complained and we got stuck with planet mining and static load screens. Bioware should take their time with the game and make this next game unforgettable. I hope they can top Mass Effect 2, PS3 gamers will love the game when they get their hands on it.

ct035644d ago (Edited 5644d ago )

I hated the elevator scenes, that was just annoying as heck.

But driving around in the Mako gave the game a sense of epicness that just wasn't present in the very level-based corridor-ish Mass Effect 2. Mass Effect 1 felt more large scale to me.

jackkk945644d ago

the new game in the vga trailer is ME 3 if you look closer like it tells you to you can see the normandy and maybe part of a reaper

TheFreak5644d ago

Mass effect 2 was to linear for my taste, I want me some exploring. Good game, but perhaps a little overrated?

Don't shoot me :(

RedDead5644d ago (Edited 5644d ago )

I thnk overrated aswell, they shouldn't have ditched exploring for (sigh) mining. Mining was boring but essential to getting a good ending.

@ Megaton

The Rachni, i missed them in ME2

Bolts5644d ago

Bioware doesn't do open world games. You should know better than that.

TheFreak5644d ago

mass effect 1 had allot more exploring than mass effect 2

ct035644d ago

It doesn't have to be open world.
Being able to actually land on planets and explore them made the first game feel so much bigger and less restricted than the second one.

Myst5644d ago

I just want to have Liara in my party from the start and not have to wait for some DLC to get her back. Though this is nothing more than a small gripe. I'm hoping everyone will be playable well those that survived in your game to three. I can't really think of anything else, the game was and still is awesome to me.

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast524d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine524d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast524d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman524d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast524d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.
