I have a Wii and this game... It plays great but after playing my PS3 or 360it looks like crap. If nintendo would have added a lil more power to there console they would have run away with the next gen war and regained there crown.

I absolutely respect your opinion, but I feel differently about it.

First of all, I think Metroid Prime 3 has some of the best art direction of any game. The characters and locations are all quite detailed and beautiful.

Second, it actually doesn't look that bad. If you were to put it on a 100 in. projector and then put it up against the PS3 in 1080p, then sure you would see a difference. But for $250 I can sit in front of a CRT and the game really doesn't look that bad. No AA, no AF, no whatever other fancy acronyms you can think of; it has great art and pretty colors, and in my book it makes for a pretty good looking game.

But that's just my opinion...

Maybe I'm totally different from everyone else, but once I get into a game, it could go black and white and I wouldn't notice. I have these "wow" moments every now and then if I see something really pretty, but for the most part, after the first 10 minutes or so, its the story and great controls that move the game along for me and make me want to play more.

And if the controls are that bad or the story is that boring, it's hard for me to keep going, no matter how good the game looks.

I love a good game just as much as anyone else. But a good game can be a great game if the graphics are on par with current standards. This is where the Wii is kind of a let down for me.

Here is to hoping the next Nintendo with the Wii-mote style controls is a graphics beast as well!!

jigaman6852d ago

Umm I think we have established the fact that this game looks fantastic. Combined with superb controls it's no surprise that it has gotten review scores within 9.5 & 10. Why are we still on the graphics comparison? It looks awesome.

SubZero6852d ago

No i hear you guys I've just become a bit spoiled with some of the other consoles power... I'm a bit of a whore when it comes to that I can't deny it.

This is a game done right, without the best graphics available.

If you own a wii, you should know not to expect ps3/360 type graphics, so this shouldn't disappoint anyone.

MP3 rules for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...... .....

MP3 looks better than some games on box 360 and ps3.

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (1996) Still Feels Like Peak 90s Star Wars

This game along with Rogue Squadron got me into to Star Wars. The release of special edition VHS Star Wars collection was perfectly times on top of all that. 😆

Redgrave77d ago

Because it is.

Please re-release this.

SimpleSlave77d ago (Edited 77d ago )

But it wasn't. Although I do agree that some of the tie-in media, like the novels and comics, were pretty good.

Still, games like Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Rogue Squadron, and the space sims were peak 90s Star Wars. Shadows fell flat because of the abysmal controls and unimaginative levels. And if you wanted to really experience the seedy side of the universe, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 was peak, and it wasn't even close.

Regardless, and much to my dismay, we got the better version thanks to Ubislop in Outlaws, which is what Shadows should've been, albeit at a smaller scale.

As a kid me and my cousins loved this game . I have great memories with this one and the Star Wars pod racer game .
