bf2 is the sequel to bf3 so i would expect it to have more in common with it than bc2

We can only hope, Matthew. I have been waiting a long time for a proper Battlefield game to come out on console. :)

BF3 is going to be more of a sequel to BOTH Bad company 2 and BF2, instead of BFBC3 it is just BF3.
On the console I hope they get up to 32 players.
And if they can't put jets in they need to let us call in airstrikes like in BC2 singleplayer, laser paint a target with binocs and call in an A.I. flown A10 warthog to light up the target.

BF2 had a commander to give orders to the squads. Though that was an actual person who had to sit around and control all that. I like your idea of having an A.I do it instead. Probably do a better job too, some commanders were absolute noobs haha.

But 64 players also was a feature on BF2. I just hope MAG has shown them that its easily possible for a console to do that amount of players and not strip it down like BC.

Why do you want to go prone? In my opinion, it is for:
-campers trying to get cheap kills
-snipers who want more power

I think that most people will tell you that they stop noticing the inability to go prone because the emphasis on the game is action, not hiding or waiting. To tell you the truth though, it probably wouldn't be that useful. In a game with rapidly changing maps and in which a tank's shell can end the lives of you and your teammates from the other side of wall, prone would take a backseat to firing rockets or hightailing it. DICE once said it themselves that it didn't add much to the gameplay anyways.

Prone is crap. Whenever I play COD, someone starts shooting at you, then suddently goes prone like a dolphin and yet they lose no accuracy. Screw that, BC2 is good cause you don't get lamers like that trying to get any advantage without actually being good at shooting. And snipers are bad enough without having them nearly invisible in the trees.

People need to go prone to make their profile smaller so you aren't a giant target for others to shoot at.....you know, kinda like REAL war tactics.

The thing I hated most was not being able to hide from tanks and vehicles. You are a sitting duck if one spots you. You can't hide behind stuff because it just gets demolished. And if you have C4 and want to take it out, you have to hide behind stuff in order to sneak up on it. Without prone, it's nearly impossible to sneak up on a vehicle because you can't hide behind the shorter cover and stay unseen.

Even when facing other infantry prone is needed. If you want to hide from an onslaught of fire coming your way, you can't because they can see you behind any short cover there is.

The main complaint I could see against prone would be with snipers. They camp and do nothing and are hard to find with their camo. If you hate prone so much, just make it so snipers can't go prone.

Or if you did allow snipers to go prone you could add a kill cam so you know where the snipers are hiding and they can't camp in the same spot too long.

There are many ways to do it but to take prone out entirely was almost a deal breaker for me. You're just cannon fodder for everyone since you can't hide or find cover. And if DICE don't think it added much to the gameplay then they are idiots because it was a MAJOR tactic used in BF2 in order to sneak up on tanks and APC's to take them out with C4 or mines. You have to hide behind cover and remain unseen or you never stand a chance to take out the tank. You can't even get near it.
