Edit@1.3: There isn't a best console right now. Xbox has more games because it came out a year too soon. There are plenty of games to play on the PS3 and Wii as well. Don't forget all the older systems games that you can play on both these systems. All three systems have great games out right now and more to come. So please... COME ON.

@blow:it is not 360 owners cannot offerd it but the fact that they have life

Sorry but I own a powerful PC, sorry to hear all those xbox fanboys cry and say they cant afford machinery like ps3 or pc.

Want to hear something funny, and this is from a friend who is a xbox fanboy. He developed some kindov cardinal rule of thumb, he will not buy a game beyond a week since its launch date because he wants to emphasize a point that multiplatform games come out before a ps3.... meaning if he can't afford and it is a superb game he will still not buy it. That is pretty much childish but hey he is missing alot of games.

What matters is if a company pumps out exclusive titles with a constant flow , multiplatform games are side dishes.

are the kinds of things that happen when you focus too much on HD media and not gaming.

The 360 is streamlined just for gaming so getting code up and running is a minimal time. Bc a 360 dev kit is very similar to PC architecture. Which all games are made on first

The PS3 architecture is drasticly different which will usually lead to it getting a sloppy "port" with subpar framerates...etc...Not to mention various delays which cost developers extra money.
As it is plain to see the 360 is usually still the lead on multiplatform games.

PS2 has even more difficult architecture, takes one cycle to learn. 360 won't always be the lead platform, it's a developer's choice. It really depends on what they want to achieve, porting games backward onto the 360 is easier if you make the PS3 the lead platform, i will see more developers doing that instead. All these delays are bc things were develope on the 360 first, bc they had the dev kit a year before they did for the PS3

Alan Wake, Halo Wars and Fable 2( new ips much like sony this year unproven franchises) oh noessss!!! Yea next year you mofos will be quiet as a mouse when its sony's turn to unleash its halo 3 calibur games and not just one but multiple. MGS4, MGS4O, TEKKEN 6, GT5, Killzone 2,FFXIII,FFXIII versus,Socom etc all these are big games too(proven like halo) so what do you gotta say now get it all out cause anybody with a head worth a pile-o-beans knows sony got 08 sewed up

I was just wondering with your comment that the PS3 has 2008 sewed up, you do realise that MGS4 will whore itself out 360 with some sort of substance version in 2008, also Killzone 2 is not exactly a follow up classic game. And what with the fact that they actually can’t seem to get any games released on schedule (Blue Ray). If think it’s probably more realistic to say they will have 2010 sewed up, that’s if they have any exclusive games left by then.

In reply to the above comment, I agree games do get delayed on the 360 and whilst their won’t be a game bigger than Halo 3 next year, and by that I mean on any system. I’m sure you’re reply with a list of games you consider to be bigger, and then you will make what you consider a hilarious comment about how foolish I am and how I don’t know anything. But at the end of the day I’m sure you and every other PS3 fanboy deep down have to admit that things aren’t looking great are they.

LOL nice one,i bought a ps3 at the begining of the year hoping to get some aaa games for it ,but alas theres none what a surprise.LAIR and HEAVENLY SWORD both have had under par reviews,its pathetic really nearly 1 year after its launch and theres nothing but crappy ports,all my ps3 does is sitt under my tv garthering dust and thats no joke i kid you not,thank god for my 360 which gets 100% of my playing time and its a launch console,never had any bother from it,sweet..The 360 seems to be going from strength to strength with amazing games(priceless).........

This game is being produced by a new team (at EDEN, same of Test Drive Unlimited ..which is quite a great game.) and it's VERY technologicaly intensive ..

That is prolly why they are having trouble with PS3.. since they developed their own technologies they have to re-build them to work on PS3 (instead of just porting the code to a "working" engine in both platforms.) ..

Alone in the Dark was originally announced for 360 and PC back in 2005, with the PS3 version confirmed a year later.

I think that pretty much sums it up, it was to be expected they were just trying to be optimistic they could get them all out on the same time, but had a year in advance on 2 out of the 3 platforms.

I think sony should talk to each and every dev who comes out and say, the PS3 version will be delayed by a month or so. They need to sit down with these people and see why they cant make any 3rd party PS3 game out on time, im getting sick and tired of this.

It's unwise to own only a Playstation 3 if your interested in playing new and upcoming next generation games. Most real gamers will own all systems. But to those that insist on own only a Playstation 3, congratulations on wasting your money on a second rate system that will always get Xbox 360 hand me downs. That's what you get for being a brand loyalist. You have a long painful trip ahead of you filled with this kind of news.

It's been bad news after bad news since the PS3 price was announced. There has literally been no good news, since. There most hyped games have either failed, or barely passed muster. Now, a game that isn't coming out for 6 months is announced as "delayed" to some undisclosed time in the future. I guess it's a timed exclusive for 360/PC.

Every System has its highlights. As you can probably tell by my user name, I'm an old Sega Fan. The Playstation 3 reminds me of the Sega Saturn in many ways. It was dubbed as having more potential than the Playstation due to its multiple processors. It was more expensive than the Playstation by $100. It had a ton of exclusive games by Sega. However, third parties had a very difficult time programming for it. Sound familiar?

History repeats it’s self. In the case of the Playstation 3, the bad out weigh the good. In Japan, Sony lost the market to Nintendo. In America and Europe, the Wii and Xbox 360 are in Fantastic positions.

Just look at the sales figures and calculate yourself what it's going to take for the Playstation 3 to catch up to today’s Wii and Xbox 360 figures. It’s not good.

Get delayed for the Ps3. Sony fanboys are used to being treated as second class citizens by game developers.

But at least they get Unreal and Haze first. I just have a very strong feeling that when both those games release for the xbox 360 a few months later....they will both be better on the 360. But we will see won't we. Should be interesting. And we all know that Unreal and haze will be much much better on a high end PC. I'm curious to see how those two games run on the Cell. Will they be 30 fps? We'll know this November. I just got my copy of Stranglehold today. Its fantastic....I love it. Too bad the Ps3 version got delayed....but I guess thats to be expected. WOW

Its ok elitegamer, the trade-off is we get a movie along with the game. Enjoy the game, i played the demo and it's fun, the only reason i'm buying it and not renting it is because of the movie.

Thats neat. Lets see when they do the head to heads which game runs,looks, and plays better. I have a feeling based on just about every multiplatform game before it....that the 360 version will get better review scores. But at least you wait for a lesser game and a bonus movie. I wish the 360 version included the movie on HD DVD. I had to go to Blockbuster to rent it so I could know what was going on. I remember when Shenmue 2 hit the Xbox they included a movie of the first game and even though I played the first one on Dreamcast (great console) I thought it was a good idea to include it/

the next-gen version was announced in 2005 for Xbox 360 - and the PS3 version a year later in 2006. That I can understand, but 2 years for the Xbox version? Better be damn good!

Not sur eif you realise it or not, but most games have a 2 - 5 year production life, starting from conceptual to release day. Many studios have multiple games in production by more than one studio, and thus it "seems" shorter than it might be. Some followingiterations of a series can be well into production before the former is even released. It's just how things are done to reduce lead time between releases.

Infinity Ward were working on COD4 straight after they finished COD2, which has given them several years to work on thegame to date, so that it (COD4) could be out no longer than 12 - 18 months after COD3 was released by Treache. Same goes for Ubisoft, EA etc etc. Treache are currently working on COD5 . . . but that's another story all together.

Alone In The Dark: Near Death Investigation has been in the works for several years now, and aimed firstly at both the PC and 360, then followed by the PS3. Not because they (Dev) are stupid, or can't do it, as some would suggest, but simply because it's harder for them with the PS3 - currently, and their production time was already underway with the other two major platforms well before their decsion to do the PS3 version - as well.

That's why everyone should get their subscriptions now as last years days of play was may 29 to 12th of june. Mine is expiring on the 7th so i will just get essential or possibly extra this year.

And you can atleast get 15 days of extra or premium at 33% off to try it out.

Will see about getting my kid a cheaper PS Plus sub so he can backup and transfer his saves again. Really wish that was free ala XB.

Hopefully Destiny 2 The Final Shape comes with a free gear level upgrade like last year’s PS Plus offering. To bring you up to speed with all the content and everyone else. I still need to do a Nightfall Strike on Grandmaster difficulty, but ain’t got time to grind.

I have my primary set to his console so he can play online multiplayer and all my games, but it doesn’t give him access to cloud storage. That’s the problem. He needs to back up his saves. From the link:

None of those deals are of any great consequence to me. I was hoping they would bring back the special themed hardware after a 5 year break. They had it in 2018 and 19 and nothing for 20-24. 25 could have been the year to bring it back.

Both DoP 2018 and 19 had special themed PS4 slim. I have both and while they did not do them again in 20-24.... I was hoping they would bring it back in 25 with a special themed PS5 slim or even Pro.

That games lineup is huge. It’s got new games on there and really good ones like Tekken 8. The PlayStation 5 being cheaper than the switch 2 is a counter in and of itself. Early adopters are early adopters. It will sell well, but not as good as the original switch. Not with that price and a far more capable machine with real online available for less. I think old Reggie said it best. Nintendo thrived on innovation and pushing new ideas. Not just rereleasing better versions of what it already had. The Wii was a massive success. The Wii U…. The 3DS was a big success, the DS XL… The switch huge success. The switch 2….. we will see.
