"All I can say is we're racing towards Alpha"

Sigh, I`ll be waiting a while.

Karum5672d ago

I think we all kinda knew this was going to be a late Q3 or Q4 2011 (calendar year) release anyway so it being at this stage isn't really surprising.

I'm just looking forward to E3 next year where we should get to see a fair bit more of the game as it should be in late Alpha, possibly Beta stages by then.

Should be awesome!

TheLastGuardian5672d ago

Eat Sleep Play can take as long as they need to. Jaffe says this is gonna be the best Twisted Metal yet so don't be surprised if we have to wait a while. This is my most anticipated game but I can wait. I want it as close to perfect as it can get. I'll have other games to keep me occupied but when Twisted Metal comes out, no other game will matter.

Ducky5672d ago (Edited 5672d ago )

*checks topic about 'Best Racing Games'*

Alpha: "Twisted Metal isn't a racing game."
Jaffe: "We're racing towards alpha."
------------

Coincidence? I think not.

KILLERAPP5672d ago

I see this game coming out in September 2011…

DigitalRaptor5672d ago

I honestly can see a delay into 2012 coming, but I really hope you're right.

Fishy Fingers5672d ago

Thanks for that awesome update, full of information on the development examiner.

CrzyFooL5672d ago

lol, I see what you did there!!

Because it WASN'T full of information!!

Oh ho ho, you clever man.

TheHater5672d ago

Examiner.com...you expect any better? These guys are F5 developers/publishers twitter ever 10 seconds. Next we are going to get "David Jaffe had pancake for Dinner"

Ducky5672d ago (Edited 5672d ago )

Oh dear God I hope not.
There'd be an outburst from the waffle supporters.

Acquiescence5672d ago (Edited 5672d ago )

involve a lot of cussing and swearing and just general bad language?

Because if not then it isn't a true Jaffe post.

Jay5205672d ago

This, LittleBigPlanet 2, and Starhawk are my most anticipated titles for splitscreen multiplayer

Wow cyberpunk is a great pick up. If you haven’t played it you should definitely give it a try

Christopher334d ago

Banishers was dragged down by the need to go back to old areas multiple times.

GhostScholar335d ago

Also if you bought it at launch and couldn’t deal with all the bugs it’s a totally different game now

stupidusername334d ago

Played it on release and thought it was a mess. But I'm currently playing it again now on both PS5 and Switch 2 with cross save progression, and it's really different to how I remember it. Really enjoying it now, and it's really polished and immersive.

Despite owning the 2077 One X console and the steelbook edition of the game... i still have never played it. I may actually give 2077 a try (via the portal) as there has been so much talk about it again, thanks to SW2 and now this comparison vid from DF. https://youtu.be/SvGQik3m6a...

dveio335d ago (Edited 335d ago )

I think it's an okay decision or happening.

iirc, wasn't there even a new and probably last update coming soon announced recently?

I've never played 2077, neither. (I am still a bit mad about their ... well, anyway.)

But I think it can't get better to play that game, or any game for that matter, in a 100% complete, fully updated build.

DivineHand125335d ago

Cyberpunk and Risk of rain 2 are the best of the bunch. Not a bad month if you are one of the few that haven't played those games.

yeastori335d ago

Cyberpunk is probably one of the best games I've ever played, even when it came out with all the bugs and glitches and broken gameplay on consoles, I still loved it at its core because the world was exactly what I wanted in a dystopian vision of the real future and the story was actually well done and compelling. With the fixes and then Phantom Liberty I just knew that this game could've been GOTY winner if it hadn't been released too early and released on PS5. XBX and two years later.

shinXseijuro335d ago

Might give cyberpunk a chance now that the game redeemed itself . Is it only the basic game or with the newer content ?

xHeavYx335d ago

According to the article, it's just the base game, but the DLC will be 30% off

TM3 is my favorite but I'll take what they bring out gladly. Fun times back in the day and great soundtracks

Cacabunga617d ago

Last one on ps4 wasn’t good at all.
Hoping for some good reboot or remake of the first 3

Dagexon617d ago

You mean the one on ps3?

Cacabunga616d ago

Yes i do, thanks! I realized too late couldn’t edit

Lego 2K Drive features an exciting mode called Brick Brawl, inspired by Twisted Metal. Players can create, share, and upload various cars, including ones like Sweet Tooth. The game boasts thousands of custom cars, ranging from the Batmobile to the Sweet Tooth ice cream truck.

Never understood the like for the series. Not my bag but I know a lot of gamers are clamoring for a new game and liked the TV. Series

TiredGamer617d ago (Edited 617d ago )

TM1 and 2 are time period classics. They were a bit rough, ugly, and grungy, but they felt right during the time period they were released and they scratched that early console “death match” itch before FPS games would completely swallow that market.

Many great memories with friends playing couch co-op and 1v1. Short, and quick-and-dirty gameplay that we returned to over and over. I’d buy a remake or proper remastering of the first two games day one.

InUrFoxHole617d ago

Lol, nice! I remember having the tiger handheld or watch..

FinalFantasyFanatic616d ago

I played those so much as I kid, I bought the Twisted Metal games that were on PSN as Playstation Classics, wow, they feel clunky by today's standards, they could really use the remake/remaster treatment.

UltimateOwnage617d ago

Twisted Metal: Black is when the series really hit for me. I still love that game so much. It was kind of downhill for the series after that IMO. I'd love to see the series go back to its roots, but I don't hold out a lot of hope for David Jaffe coming back from where he is these days to oversee development of a competent sequel.

Snookies12616d ago

Black was the pinnacle in my opinion. I adored TM1 and TM2, for sure. But Black brought it to a whole new level of awesome.
