Dealspwn takes a controversial look at why the "motion control war" simply doesn't exist... and why many companies want to convince you that it does.
Jon Lester writes: "There is no Motion Control War. Move and Kinect represent one of the rare areas in which Microsoft and Sony are not in direct competition with each other… and it’s both misleading and highly inflammatory to compare them on any level."

A group of surgeons made headlines after they managed to perform an endoscopic procedure on a pig located in Hong Kong by using PlayStation controllers. It involved the use of a PS5 DualSense controller as well as a PlayStation Move controller.
That's really cool. It's crazy something like that is possible with gaming controllers 1000's of miles away.

Air Conflicts: Secret Wars debuted in 2011, and later updated for modern consoles. However, it's the PlayStation 3 edition that stands out.

Joy Ride Turbo launched 10 years ago today. The first title was Xbox Kinect exclusive, yet this sequel failed to support the device at all.
"Kinect’s primary audience are Xbox 360 owners"
Then the war is already over.
Dont kid yourself its a war for your money. The real fight is spreading like wild fire in the gaming biz. With Mario leading the charge. Apples closing in on the handheld market and new players are jumping in. While sony is betting on the psp phone to get back in.
Fact is both move and kinect are targeted at the wii crowd. But I do agree neither are expanding much past their base tho the move has more promise and is drawing a bit more of the wii crowd. Especially those looking for the hd upgrade.
edit yeh like he said "Rivalry sells- even if it doesn’t really exist."
I agree but Id go further to say these big mega corps collaborate on forming these rivalries and once again reiterate that the real war is for our cash.
Very well written and true article. Too bad most of the users of this site wont be able to see it like this.
When I have trouble sleeping, I think of the war between Kinect and Move. Usually knocks me right out.
I find it ironic people use the term war to describe a competion in the video game industry. Video games are meant to be fun, war is not fun.
there was no motion control war.....just like the Console war ended when the system were launched and now its all about personal preference?
