Sony SNAP, Will it help bring Apple Apps to Sony Devices?

SONY SNAP, (Sony’s Networked Application Platform), is based on the same framework as the Apple OS. This seems to be an attempt to build an appdev environment that will support rapid ports of Apple Apps for Sony Consumer Electronics like the Dash.

The DDGameWorld post summarizes the current SNAP program and points out that it has just been put on hold. Some of the info in the post is no longer viewable on SONY page.

Can SONY foster a community that can attract Apple developers? That remains to be seen. It is running into hurdles and some speculate that there is internal issues about which direction this program should go. They are probably watching the Android and Windows Mobile development platforms just as closely.

if it is i bet you will be able the phone and just the system (like the itouch and iphone). So really who cares if they do that, it would bring in a different type of crowd.

They won't be as in picture of the psp phone it clearly says Sony erricson; so it's made by a different part of Sony and as many will know there not doing well in the android market its clearly just away for them win over the android customers.
